I cannot recommend P&R enough and have been recommending them to anyone who will listen since they…read morerefinished my basement after a catastrophic flood. First, I received a call back after leaving a message immediately (like within the hour). I called 3 other contractors, 2 of them never returned my call and a third called back after P&R completed the work. Rick came out to my house the very next day to survey the damage and take some measurements. I had an estimate for the work within the week and they started working right after that. Rich and Jake made great recommendations for how to refurbish the basement (suggesting vinyl flooring instead of the carpeting). They installed all the flooring, repaired all of the baseboard, fixed the covering to a load-bearing beam, painted 2 rooms with 3 different paints (2 coats each) and even installed sump pump so that the flooding that happened will not happen again. They did all this work in 1 weeks time and at a great price. They worked hard and were willing to answer all of my novice, homeowner questions the entire time. Since this initial work we have had them reinstall a backsplash for out kitchen counters AND Rick came out on a Sunday, during an emergency where my power breaker was tripping every few minutes. You're simply not going to find a better contractor that P&R. My wife and I are putting together a master list of projects that we want P&R to work on in the coming years and are looking forward to having them continue to add value to our home.

James has completed two bathroom remodel jobs for us and both have been an excellent, positive…read moreexperience. For the first remodel job we got quotes from three different contractors and James' quote was very competitive. But the main reason we selected James was due to the conversations with James and how he communicated with us on the remodel process, describing how he works with homeowners, our review of his portfolio of previous work and the design concepts he offered as we worked through the work details and finalized the quote. While we worked out the project details, even prior to being awarded the job, James provided numerous suggestions on the renovations, and material selection and spent several hours researching ways to reduce material cost. We also spoke with one of James's previous customers who gave him an outstanding recommendation. Once the project started James worked every day, often working late in the day to ensure he kept the project on schedule, in fact James completed the project several days ahead of the commit date. James is very detail oriented and takes additional steps during the preparation and installation to achieve a superior finished product - for example applying masking tape to the vanity tops prior to installing backsplash so the adhesive bead is minimal and does run out onto the surface of the vanity top. James is a highly skilled and capable craftsman who offers a broad range of services - electrical, construction, plumbing, tile, paint, and design and his top priority is to ensure his customer is completely thrilled with the finished project. We thanks James for all the skill, effort and diligence he put into our project and he was a 100% successful as we are very, very thrilled with the results!

Prime Design completed an extensive remodel of our home, and what made this project especially…read moreunique was that much of the planning took place while we were living in one state, and the contractor was located in another. Under those circumstances, clear and consistent communication was absolutely critical. Several aspects of our experience stood out. First and foremost, the quality of the work was exceptional. The finished product is beautiful, and the attention to detail is evident throughout the entire house. Second, during the planning phase, Prime Design provided a comprehensive list of decisions we needed to make--from flooring and countertops to every light fixture and faucet. This created a clear roadmap for the project, helped us select items that complemented one another, and documented every choice along the way. As a result, there were no surprises when the project was completed. Finally, because we were still living out of state during much of the construction, regular communication was essential. We received frequent progress updates and photos, which allowed us to monitor the work, confirm that everything met our expectations, and feel confident that the project was moving in the right direction. We are extremely happy with both the process and the finished result. We recommend them to anyone considering a remodeling project.

In September-December 2022, I had Tyler work on some projects at my house. I would not recommend…read moreusing Adams Family for anything at all ever! I hired Tyler to do a few projects, and most were done so badly that I had to hire another contractor to redo them. I trusted him when he told me that he could do all the projects and he had experience but that was a big mistake. Not only was his work done extremely poor, I found him very unethical. He lied to me about having insurance. He damaged an $1,100 high end tub and put some stuff on it to try to cover it up and installed it without telling me about it. He gave me a $500 "discount" off the invoice but it's too late to have it replaced. He added a $372.87 charge without discussing it for a credit card fee from a previous invoice. I specifically asked Tyler if I could pay with a credit card and he said it was fine. He never brought up any fees and just tried to add it to the next invoice. Some of the grout that Tyler installed in November is already cracking a few months later. When I brought this up to Tyler his response was "why am I hearing about it after I moved an hour and a half away." Great customer service. My new contractor asked if Tyler installed some crack proof membrane on top of the sub flooring since it's a high traffic area as well as tile sealer after he did the installation. Tyler sent me a picture from Google of a subflooring I think as his way to resolve this. I am going to have to demo it and have it completely redone correctly. At the beginning of the project, Tyler said we'll agree on a fair hourly rate to use. I reminded him a few times after he started that we need to discuss his rate and agree on it. We never did. He initially charged $50 per hour for some stuff at the beginning, then I noticed it changed to $65 per hour. We never discussed any rate change or a 30% increase. One of the most disturbing things was that we used Tyler to demo the walls on the stairs going from the first to the second floor as we were renovating them. My wife pointed out the inner wall going from the second floor to the first floor then to the basement and asked Tyler if he could demo that too as she wanted to have new iron railings. Tyler said sure and discussed doing it in a later phase after we finished the main staircase. After all the terrible work, I replaced Tyler with JCL Carpentry from Boston. My wife brought up replacing those inner walls with railings with Julio from JCL. He immediately told her absolutely not - that's a load bearing wall. The second and third floors could come right down if you removed or weakened those walls. Tyler had no idea what he was doing. He could have removed load bearing walls and had absolutely NO INSURANCE!! I hate to publicly write negative stuff online, but Tyler has no skills and has no idea what he's doing and refuses to resolve any issues. He could seriously mess up someone's home - he agreed to remove a load bearing wall in the center of my home. When I brought up issues, he just deflects or ignores. I have a list of professionals that have seen how bad his work is - electricians, plumbers, interior designers, and other carpenters that came to redo his terrible work. Save yourself time, money and headaches - use someone else! Check other reviews and complaints on the Better Business Bureau site
