Only wants to price the job, verbally with the price constantly increasing as the project progresses. Customer has to insist upon getting a written invoice, well into the project, just for protection. And, that took 2 weeks to get, after 3 requests. And, even in writing, the prices will change/increase due to things the contractor "didn't know" or "forgot", and then, will try to make customer pay extra $ for the company's own errors & omissions, even tho' he keeps insisting that he has "been doing the business a long time" (and, should already know). And, then, want outside-the-invoice payments to sub-contractors, even when his invoice says "included", just because he "didn't know" (the cost) on simple things, e.g. "haul-away trash" and flooring delivery. There is no transparency in pricing & too many surprises after the written invoice and start of the project, and major stress in dealing with the loosey-goosey style of this company. Other than the collateral damage to walls & adjoining tile and their taking, for themselves, the extra materials that customer felt forced to pay for outside the original flooring estimate/invoice (just to keep the project moving forward), the end product, itself, is very nice! (Even, the flooring warehouse that this contractor uses, is not transparent in pricing and delivery issues, made errors on # items to ship, hundreds of dollars in excessive padding on a single line item ((probably, for trucking costs cushion)), and had to be continually asked, for 2 weeks, to put their costs into writing, also, as well as customer having to question/investigate why the flooring took 1-1/2 months longer to ship than they said.) Just a "heads-up" on how stressful it is to work with this company and its associates.
