Unethical listing agents and rampant lies. Likened to being forced into deals by a car salesman. Scummy and not trustworthy.

Absolutely everything from the initial contact to any communication during the stay was timely,…read morecourteous and professional. With over five years staying at the Coastal Digs properties, my experiences have been nothing short of perfection. Not to say that on the rare occasion something doesn't go wrong. But the manner in which these few times are handled was timely and thorough. The owners are friendly and caring people. Their properties are beautifully decorated with careful thought given to every aspect of a guest's wants and needs. There isn't one complaint I can honestly give.

I have been looking for a 1 month furnished rentals for the past few weeks. Everyone else has been…read morea delight to work with. I found this coastaldigs.com on Craigslist just a couple days ago and thought I'd found the perfect place (both units) and if I liked it I'd see if I could rent longer. I wanted to see the unit that was left if possible and ask a couple questions voice to voice. I gave them my number (first via email and they had been texting my cell as of 6:20pm on Saturday night and I provided it again in via text though they were texting me) and asked them to call rather than text repeatedly and find the best time for both of us to meet. Today she responded with "you haven't given your number" and "do you think I just hang around here all day?" Wow that was my first clue about this persons (Dee) lack of professionalism. She tried to nail down my rental dates on Sunday. a.m. and all I asked was for her to call so I could talk in person about a couple things and to find a good time for both of us to meet. This all happened Sunday morning. After 2 rude comments to my asking for a call I said "never mind this is rude" and being a property manager myself for over 25 years I realized best not to move forward. She offered no apology at all. Their response to my comment about me being a property manager was: "Property manager.Lol" (basically calls me a liar) Next line was "Idiot." Next was "You have been an air head from day one. Grow up" then "sounds like you've had a little too much f--king." and the final comment before blocking was "Lol, go baby go" I realized this wasn't someone I'd want to deal with. I am the customer and as a property manager myself I respond kindly and call if requested rather than text. I've spent weeks with prospective clients to find they rent something else. I say thank you for considering us and maybe we can help in the future. All this horrible dialog happened today when I had hoped to figure out a time and ask important questions as I have a disability and needed to make sure the property would suit my limitations. I actually started packing a bag in case I could move in today as they wanted the 1st or the 15th only. I DID SAVE THE ENTIRE TEXT DIALOG (NOT SCREEN SHOTS BUT UNEDITED ORIGINAL ON MY LAPTOP) FOR ANYONE TO SEE FOR THEMSELVES WHAT THE TRUTH IS. I have a vacation property on VRBO as well how frustrating it can be dealing with people and their questions but people have lives and things happen yet always act with professionalism. This was a first and so disappointing as I thought I found the perfect place. I'm sure the rental would probably be fine if you can text/email and book right away. All I asked for was a voice to voice call. - Her comments below are untrue and I have reported this to yelp as I don't want this associated with my reviews. IT IS OBVIOUS BY HER RESPONSE THE LACK OF PROFESSIONALISM. OTHER BUSINESSES RESPOND WITH APOLOGIES AND PROFESSIONAL DIALOG.

Disappointing experience due to a lack of professionalism, communication, and transparency…read more Our primary contacts throughout the leasing process were Daniel Morgan and Raquel. After we initially declined the lease because the rent was outside our budget, the homeowner personally reached out and invited me back to the property to meet his family and neighbors, answer questions about the home and neighborhood, and discuss the rental terms. Following that meeting, we reached an agreement on a revised rental price, and Daniel and Raquel sent us an updated lease reflecting those terms. We took the time to carefully review the lease and ask questions before signing, as anyone should when entering into a legal agreement. During that process, we felt pressured to sign the lease quickly, despite simply trying to understand the terms of the agreement. We ultimately signed the updated lease and promptly submitted the requested security deposit in good faith. Based on our understanding that we were moving forward with this property, we declined other rental opportunities, which were no longer available when we unexpectedly had to resume our search. What followed was, in our view, the most concerning part of the entire experience. After signing the lease and submitting our security deposit, we received no communication whatsoever from the leasing company regarding next steps, confirmation that our documents had been received, or when we could expect a countersigned lease. We found this unusual and reached out ourselves the following day. Only because we initiated that conversation were we informed that the property had continued to be shown after we had already signed the lease and submitted our deposit. During that conversation, we were told that another applicant had offered the original asking rent and that the owner had decided to move forward with that applicant instead--just 10 days before our scheduled move-in date. While our security deposit was ultimately returned, the handling of this transaction fell well below the level of professionalism, communication, and transparency we expected. We invested significant time and effort into this process, including meeting with the homeowner and his family, negotiating revised lease terms, carefully reviewing the lease, signing the agreement, submitting a substantial security deposit, and making housing decisions in reliance on the understanding that we were moving forward. Our real estate agent, who has more than 20 years of industry experience, told us she had never encountered a situation like this. Regardless of the legal status of the lease before it was fully executed, prospective tenants deserve timely, transparent communication--especially after signing a lease and submitting a security deposit. In our case, we received no proactive communication and only learned that the property was no longer available because we contacted the leasing company ourselves. Based on our experience, we cannot recommend this company. We encourage prospective tenants to obtain written confirmation regarding when a property will be removed from the market and when their tenancy is considered secure before signing documents, submitting funds, or declining other housing opportunities.
