I live in Marathon, ON and we do not have an optometrist in the community. I have no choice but to travel with my family as two of my children wear glasses. I have been so pleased with the up-to-date equipment that is used at Harbourview. The office they use to have in Marathon had a travelling optometrist who had an extremely long waiting period because he only travelled to the community one to two days a month. When you stepping into the office it was like stepping back into the 80's. Moving my family to Thunder Bay to be assessed is a decision I am glad we made. I bring my children to Dr. Valente and I have been impressed with how he engages with my children and takes the time to be meticulous with their assessments. Modern & clean business however poor treatment by one of the optometrist. I stated " I cannot read the writing on your diploma, other than where you obtained it" he responded in a rude tone with "obviously you can because you just read these letters". Vision is subjective, if I'm telling you I can't see, I can't see! Every little bit makes a difference because I get migraines and nauseas when I can't see. I Will NOT be returning to this specific optometrist, nor will I be suggesting him to anyone I know. Terrible bettlittling experience. read more
