What was cool: - a cord in the bathroom that residents can pull if they are in trouble, an alarm sounds alerting neighbors that someone is in trouble - a giant fish tank and fireplaces in the lobby/center of the complex - a full calendar with things to do almost every day! (games, exercises, church things, etc.) - nice areas with table and books to read, also saw people doing puzzles! - a bus that stops at some local stores (e.g. Sendiks) - a cute little chapel on the first floor - a small convenience store on the first floor that residents procure and sell the inventory for necessity type items - the option to always get a meal for a very reasonable price for seniors who can't or do not want to cook - a hair salon on-site! - friendly residents - super friendly manager, Beth, was absolutely wonderful!!! Rent was in the $600's for a one bedroom and $800's for two. There are about 134 units and they always seem to be at full capacity and have an on-going waitlist. If you or your loved one are considering, at least get on the waitlist asap so that you'll get the call when an apartment becomes available! You can stay on the list if you pass on the first call. The staff at Clare Meadows has succeeded in creating a welcoming home environment. There is as much privacy as you like, or you can be as involved as you want to be. The activities and amenities are superb. Beth Nacker, the manager at Clare Meadows, is one of the most efficient and caring people I have ever met. She manages Clare Meadows with kindness, consideration and has succeeded in making this environment a loving home, not just an apartment setting. There is never a problem that isn't remedied immediately. John, the maintenance person, is one of the most knowledgeable and caring people I have ever met. His "can do" attitude is wonderful!! The residents that have chosen to make Clare Meadows their home are amazing. I don't know how Joe, the owner, and Beth have managed to put together such a group. It is a true community in every sense of the word. There is always a friendly atmosphere, whether just a greeting in the hall or a welcoming gesture to all new arrivals. Thanks to the Joe, Beth and John for making this a true home, and not just a place to live in. You are helping to keep us seniors, young and involved!!

They were helpful and cheerful with my mother who was not always happy to be there since all she wanted was to go home. Lubi was one of our favorites! She was so helpful with my mother making sure she was taken care of, clean, and safe. She was one of the hardest workers and always so cheerful! Any questions we had with any staff member, they answered and always found a solution. They also had many student CNAs and they were fantastic with my mother as well as others who lived there. Besides them helping in the rooms to get guests to the bathroom or help get them ready for bed, I also found them sitting with the guests talking with them, doing nails, or just being with them. Skylar (CNA) was super helpful with my mother as well. People is everything to the guests. Having a quality, hard working and kind humans working with my mother was so important. She was in their care for about 2 weeks, lost 14 pounds-and when ask for them to test for a UTI they said they could because she wasn't (couldn't-already too sick) to complain! We, WE!, had to ask for a well being ck at hospital where it was confirmed she had a raging UTI & now pneumonia. At this point she couldn't take iv antibiotics due to congestive heart failure- people live for a long time with this. I 100% believe their irresponsibleness -lack of care- caused her demise, when I asked the state overseers to come in, boy they had their records all in order-minus the fact they didn't let her eat-she was a nibbler and after 30 mins all food is taken away so she wouldn't get botulism-what a freaking joke! She'd eat day old pizza never refrigerated. The last meaningful words she told me were "I'm Starving!" She was never hungry in the other parts of assisted living. Turned out to be true. I was there for two 10 day stays. The PT, OT, general care, food, and room comfort was as good as it could be. Response time from the help button was seconds and minutes, not the horror stories I hear about other nursing homes. She was not getting her weekly showers and received frequent UTI's. She was not changed when wet and her sheets were soiled. She wore a gold cross necklace and her gold chain was replaced with a cheap chain. She lost 10 pounds in 3 months not always taken to the dining room. There were activities planned but they did not always happen because there was no staff available. PT's were not consistent and she was not making progress with walking. It was not uncommon to see employees sitting on their phones throughout the building. Not sure if they were on their breaks or not. Several residents said that things were better last year. We left Brookdale in Brookfield off Bluemound Road and took my mother in law to a different facility. At the new facility, she has always been dressed with her earrings on and eats in the dining room. At the new facility she is getting her baths and is able to walk the length of the PT room now. She eats in the dining room and participated in social activities daily.

Once you enter, go through glass doors and there are more establishments there. The owner greets you and is ready. You sign papers and he explains what the process is. My friend and I bought the art package to go along with the regular smash session. And we paid for 50-60 minutes. You get 6 or so cups of paint that you get to mash towards a hard metal canvas. Then you can blow some glitter on it. The art room is separate from the smash room. You get to choose music you want playing while you mash shit. he explains the rules, like only 1 person at a time and you cant smash towards window. All reasonable rules. If you're not ready with a song he will pick one for you. I would suggest wearing shoes that are comfy and you don't care about. Tims or work boots work great just in case. But honestly I wore sneakers and it was fine. He has protective suits that fit all sizes, so don't stress about that. It is a work out and I got extremely sweaty. But it was nice to rage out and smash some shit. He stated it's a seasonal thing so get in while you can!!
