A fabulous day with Andrew on Sydney Harbour Boat Tours. Andrew was very specific about what we…read morewere going to do and how it would play into our day. He picked us up from our hotel at the exact moment he said he would. He is personable and truly wants to make his customers happy. Onboard, we talked about where we were from, showed it on a map, and just generally relaxed with the others we were on the cruise with. We started out by cruising out of Rose Bay, seeing all the 'rich and famous' homes, then going to see the incredible fish market and having lunch on the boat from food from the fish market, then going up to Manly and walking the path to the beach. My girlfriend got in the water here. Then off to a private beech that could only be reached by boat and we played around with a ball, went swimming in the ocean, lolled around relaxing, Andrew is not only easy on the eyes, but an incredible business man, community-builder among the participants. He's really a great guy. We saw so much of Sydney Harbour that we had never seen before - he kept us regaled in stories of events that had happened (both current and historical) - it was an unforgettable day. My ONLY suggestion to Andrew would be to sign up with some sort of answering/booking service so that he doesn't have to constantly answer his phone and deal with folks like one of the previous contributors here. Simply - get an answering/ booking service so you can concentrate on your day by day customers and don't end up with nasty reviews. I would highly recommend that he be extremely clear about what pier/what time passengers should be where. Waiting for nimrod passengers who are in the wrong place at the wrong time is not good. This is an awesome day; one that every first time visitor to Sydney should take. You will learn a lot and have a fun/relaxing day with a babe-alicious guy on a wonderful little boat. Just do it!

You'll see all the famous landmarks from the water (Opera House, Harbour Bridge etc) but our knowledgeable skippers will also take you to hidden gems that only local boaties know about, plus we'll tell you some great stories about our harbour. Our tours also include shore stops, where you'll land on secluded beaches and explore interesting and historic places.

This is a private-member sailing club at Kirribilli north of the Sydney Harbour Bridge…read more If you're fortunate enough to be a member, or a guest of a member, you are certain to enjoy this fine dining experience. The monthly buffet is outstanding - a selection of seafood, salads and a Carvery followed by the most amazing deserts. There's also a more informal restaurant on the lower levels which is heaving on a Friday night after twilight sailing in summer.

My intention was to rent some catamarans for a weekly event. I initially talked to the owner about…read moregetting a discount for renting many of the boats if we came back on a weekly basis; he didn't seem interested. So I decided I'd just return with a few friends to rent a cat one day - the cats are in fairly good condition, however most of the hobies have only a mainsail. The day we arrived they didn't let us rent a boat on account of 'high winds'. Now I've been racing catamarans for years and the high winds were something I was looking forward to and why I traveled all the way to balmoral to get a cat. The cats were setup on the shore, the day was beautiful, the wind was up, I was ready to sail! But no...

If the weather is right, this makes for a perfect way to spend a weekend afternoon. My friends organised a sailing adventure for a birthday and I couldn't think of a better way to celebrate. We left from Rushcutters Bay and set out on a four-hour charter for $400 an hour, but with a group of 30 it didn't add up to too much each. The 33-foot catamaran was spacious and even included a BBQ, a spot to keep our beers cold and an audio system to plug in the iPod. We sailed around the harbour for a while, then paused for a swim and lunch. We went in January so it was blue skies and biting sun, and we docked that afternoon a shade darker and a lot happier. I couldn't believe it had taken me so long to sign up for a harbour cruise, but now I'm pretty much finding any excuse to organise another... Sydney Mainsail were excellent. The staff were really friendly and accommodating and I'd definitely hire them again.
