The trail is mostly flat, but had sets of stairs in between. On one side of the trail, the water is crystal clear, blue and the other side of the trail are beautiful rock formations. This route passes by Bondi Icebergs Pool and a smaller beach - Tamarama Beach. There are restroom pit stops at the park and Tamarama Beach. Even though we walked a ton in Sydney, I highly recommend this coastal walk.

Its a good park that's just a short walk from bondi junction and is also relatively close to the beach too. You'll find lots of dog walkers, mums with strollers and kids making their way to the school, which is adjacent to the park. The park also has some netball courts, a footy field and a cricket pitch and stadium that's currently under renovations. A good park to go for a walk or run and get the blood pumping in the morning or after work.

Not once did any of us feel uncomfortable because we were being told about the significance of the area and history of Sydney. Charlie has a lot of pride in her culture and people and was very enthusiastic in keeping us all engaged about the history of the surrounding land. This also helped me feel comfortable throughout the trek and I was not afraid of the height at all. 45 stories above the ground at the peak could be daunting for some individuals but I didn't feel scared at all. Mitch our photographer made us feel comfortable as well even when he took our pictures. Their safety protocols, equipment, briefing and instructions on how to attach the safety harness, walking up and down a mock metal ladder and how to walk up/down the stairs is really organized. I also like how they provide the headsets to each of us in the group to hear both Charlie and Mitch during the tour. They have personal lockers where you can stash any of your belongings with a key and lanyard that goes around your neck and inside your jumpsuit. Pro-tip. Men/women- Dress lightly and comfortable as it can get hot up on the bridge. I had to strip my pants off and wore a shirt and just my briefs but I was comfortable throughout. I booked the twilight bridge climb and I am still not quite sure what possessed me. Let me explain,…read moreI am in my mid sixties, fat, out of shape and deadly afraid oof heights. It didn't look so bad on pictures, but once I saw the bridge in person and in particular how tiny the climbers looked on top of the bridge, that was the moment fear set in. And it got worse during the preparations. You don't just walk in and climb on up there. You need to have instructions, pass a breathalyzer test, change into a special suit, get a radio, headphones, attach your glasses, hat, jacket and whatnot all to your suit and step into a heavy harness. By that time you'll start to sweat because this suit is like a plastic bag and hold in the heat. You also get to practice a climb up some ladders... oh yay. As a scaredy cat in regards of heights, I was placed up front so our guide could keep an eye on me. Good thing too. The rest of my group consisted of 20-30 year old athletic types... great. So you step on out of the building onto a catwalk and get hooked onto the safety line. This already made me regret things as I looked down onto the street below. Then our guide starts to run, yes run on this narrow catwalk... aaarggghhh... I did finally catch up with her but only because she was waiting for our group. Surprise, let's climb up 4 ladders with 25 steps each back to back... man I was huffing and puffing. Thank goodness you get to wait until everybody is up. Then you climb and climb and climb on up the stairs. I did my best and did keep up, but I was really trying hard. I gave it my all. At about 3/4 of the way, my legs were turning into jello, almost to the summit I thought I was going to throw up, but luckily we stopped to take pictures as a group and then as individuals. I recovered during this little rest. We had climbed up during daylight, by the time we reached the summit the sun was setting and the the view was spectacular. Unforgettable. Recovered due to the short rest and with the promise of no further climbing, but rather descending from here on, I was feeling much better. Thirsty, drenched in sweat and wishing I had used the restroom before the climb, but otherwise ok. Well now we had to cross from one side of the bridge to the other... at the summit, over several lanes of traffic and railroad tracks, and you can see straight down... for me, the scariest part. Then finally the descent. By now it was getting quite dark and we needed to turn on our lamps. The descent was much quicker than the climb of course and I was eager to get out of this hot suit, get a drink of water and use the rest room... no such luck. Now one has to painstakingly unbuckle all the equipment from the suit. Eventually you get to change back into your regular clothes. And just when you think you are done, you have to stand in line for the photo purchases. I had prepaid for the pictures, but still had to wait because the staff will pick out the pictures that feature you and put those with the group and scenery pictures. I do have to say our guide took fabulous pictures and they were worth the wait. Yes, I know I don't describe this adventure as a wonderful experience, it was quite strenuous, but also exciting and the view alone is absolutely worth it. Also the staff was very encouraging and if you have fear or physical concerns let them know so they can help you along the way.

I loved this race. That was easy to do. I have run about 150 half marathons. I'm an American. So…read moremost of my running is in the States. I was on a business trip to Australia. I added extra time of course since I was flying around the world. So I looked up races. This was well organized and festive. It also was not a tough course. I walked it the day before to check it out. I got a great sense of the city. The race, as the name suggests, takes you to the beach. The only downside, if you would even call it that, is this is a huge race. It's one of the most crowded I have ever done. That means lots of waiting around and passing or being passed by masses. I was invited to a party at the end, hosted by a law firm. It seems there are lots of events added on. I probably will never do this again given where I live. But if I were headed to Sydney, and I could plan to participate, I certainly would arrange my schedule for this opportunity.

This iconic annual event in mid August is getting more and more popular (and thankfully more…read moreorganised as the popularity increases) that the event gets more exciting and crazy on the safety front for more reasons than one. Initially designed for the locals; you receive interstate visitors (including yours truly) and international visitors make the effort and participate in this fun, feel good charity based fun run with around 5-6 different start groups to choose from. Every year since 2005 (with the exception of 2009) and this year I participated in the City 2 Surf it just gets better and better. Last year boasted an attendance of 65,000 entries, and this year: wait for it an amazing 80,000 entries came flooding into the Fairfax offices as a result; and furthermore (as a result once again) Melbourne will shortly host the sister event called the City 2 Sea for the first time in November 2011; and yes I have entered this event ready to go. Enjoy free entertainment along with way with Powerade and water drink stops, and if your lucky you could be handed the biggest can of Red Bull you have ever seen on the house to enjoy (which was a bit of an inconvenience having to handle for the last 5kms in running this entire race with the exception of walking Heartbreak Hill only) with a sausage sizzle for Westpac customers at the end; bliss. Looking forward and already training up for next years event on the 12th of August 2012.

Went on their twilight sailing experience recently with a great, small group who I occasionally work with. Stunning (despite the cold weather) and the skipper was talented and passionate about sailing. Went on the Colorado boat, and you would be forgiven for thinking that it might be too squishy, yet many of us were content to just sit down (wearing ponchos), eat and chat the night away with glorious Sydney Harbour as the stunning backdrop. Nice. I ended up driving the boat for around half of the trip, and it was a real buzz to drive a sailboat right underneath the Sydney Harbour Bridge. Something I will never forget for a long time. Highly recommended experience if you love Sydney; our stunning harbour and you are a water baby at heart. Rejoice and have heaps of fun!

Apparently "no postponements unless it's gale force winds". After 4 phone calls + calling another more reputable sailing company that verified that they'd canceled all of their sails for the day and offered fee-free reschedules - the "owner" offered to reschedule us for a $100 fee. He then called us back 5 minutes ago to say that "he'd changed his mind" and we can reschedule in the next 2 months without a fee.

The turquoise clear waters allows you to view the reef from above via helicopter or plane, on top via boat and below via scuba or snorkel. We took a Cruise Whitsunday boat to the Heart Pontoon and spent the day scuba diving there. You can jump in with a stinger suit and snorkel as well. The reef seemed to be plenty shallow and the water is so clear, snorkeling is a great option. The heart pontoon also has underwater observatories and a semi submarine you can cruise around and enjoy the reef without getting wet. The best way to enjoy the reef is through a scuba dive! You see such amazing vibrant colors of coral and fishes! The fish aren't afraid and will swim right up to you. We had a large one just swim pass my hand and I felt it up close and personal. Amazing! The water was still pretty chilly with a stinger suit and wetsuit, but expected cause we're in the middle of the ocean. We also took a short helicopter ride from Heart Pontoon to see Heart Reef and the reef overhead, and it was totally worth it! Photos just don't do it justice!

What a stunning and beautiful place it is, and so sad to see the Great Barrier Reef bleaching and disappearing due to global warming! Prior to my arrival in Australia, I thought the Great Barrier Reef was just a short swim away from shore, but had no idea that it takes anywhere from 45 minutes up to 1.5+ Hour each way by boat to get out to the Reef! You will depart out of Cairns or Port Douglas. We reserved 2 separate catamaran snorkel tours (Reef Magic and Poseidon) to visit both the inner Reef as well as the outer Agincourt Reef. The inner Reef tour (Reef Magic) was only a 45 minute boat ride each way more for families with young children and family-friendly activities. The outer Agincourt Reef tour (Poseidon) was a more adult-oriented tour 1.5 Hour boat ride out each way on very rough waters. I will never forget the deep hue blues and greens of the Great Barrier Reef, and the plethora of colorful fish and underwater life we saw. The most memorable part was meeting our Aussie friend, a super friendly Maori Wrasse swim right up to us like a puppy! If you are an outdoor adventurist and can visit the Great Barrier Reef before it disappears, go! It's so sad how global warming is depleting this natural beauty. I am so grateful my husband and I got to see and swim in the Great Barrier Reef in our lifetime. Tip: the waters are very, very rough in the Great Barrier Reef. I along with many other tourists got seasick. Make sure you take your seasickness medication before the boat ride, and bring any meds needed to make the long boat ride a pleasant experience.
