A friendly, welcoming school with a strong moral ethos. They are a Church of England school, and do…read moreteach Christianity, but also ensure that the children are aware of all the other 'options' so to speak. From the headmistress, to the cleaners, everyone who works there is committed to the children, and you can feel that as soon as you walk in - where the office (and other) staff will remember you and your childs name, along with all the other families there, within a few weeks of starting - not an easy feat with a school of 360+ pupils. The teachers obviously pay attention to the children, picking up on mannerisms/foibles etc, and adapting lessons/processes to meet the needs of all the class. The school has a Good (and improving) OFSTED report, it is the first in the area to receive an Eco-Schools flag, pupils regularly win awards and competitions, and they're working towards being the first Fairtrade accredited school in the area also. There is also a good PTA who arrange varied events throughout the year (and will always welcome new help and ideas).

Whilst not the flashiest of mobile discos out there, he is dependable, well-priced, popular with the children, and has a wide range of music to choose from. Personally I would choose him over the bigger set ups even for a mixed child/adult group, but maybe that's because he doesn't just play the current 'thud, thud' club music or teeny pop, but intersperses it with a bit of soft rock and indie that the parents can breathe a sigh of relief to and the kids can still bop along to. He doesn't talk down to the kids, although admittedly his patter/presentation isn't always the smoothest either (which is the only reason I didn't give 5 stars as I know it would bother some people) - me, I'm happy with less talk more music anyway, and Dave is happy to adjust to your requirements - from simple back-to-back music to running a few party games along the way.

This is Bedford's only actual music shop - the only problem being that not many people realise that…read moreit's there! It does take a good 10 minute walk away from the shopping centre to find it and if you didn't know Bedford I doubt you would ever be able to find it! They stock a good range of things in this shop although the majority are guitars. They also teach instruments in the studios above. Next door (linked inside the shop) there is a repair studio, headphone and disco shop. As there are no other music shops in Bedford, prices aren't very competitive. If you are interested in music and live in Bedford, going to this shop is a must!
