They also often have one man shows, comedy especially during the Comedy festival and cover bands. I've seen a few things there mostly of a high quality. There is a bar and good facilities, seats are snug but comfy. If you want to act you can join up. They often have open days to find backstage, front of house and actors who will help out. Phoenix Arts is a small cinema, there is one screen and thus only one showing at a time. The listings vary from the newest independent releases, to regular showings of classics and cult favourites from cinema history. They sometimes also do theme days or weeks, for example around Halloween, they have regular showings of classic horror films. Ticket costs are about the same as larger, more mainstream cinemas, though they sometimes do various offers for advanced bookings. There is a very relaxed atmosphere at Phoenix Arts - no rushing, no people ruining films with chit-chat. They also operate a bar, so you can take in alcoholic drinks with you to watch the movie if you so choose. From time to time, they host lectures on certain aspects of film and multimedia presentations by local university students. There is also weekly comedy and music nights in the lounge area.

The Comedy Club will put on 3 comedians and a fabulous compere, often recognisable faces from the Telly! Like any self respecting chain venue, once you're in Jongleurs you could pretty much be anywhere in the country, it looks the same except for the acts aren't usually that great. No real big names to speak of that I've noticed on the bill in the last couple of months. Save your money and go somewhere good instead. Preferably in another city if its comedy you're after.
