It's at a state park, not sure if that was even mentioned. But I did call numerous times no one ever told me it would cost me 10.00 to park on top of the 35 45 bucks to canoe for two elderly adventurous people, just glad to be getting out to do something active for a change on a limited income. We both have bad knees, can't run handicap sticker in our car that is 20 years old (kind of lucky to have even made it)! I told the lady sitting at the park I can't afford 10 dollars she said well the web site says it cost to park, I said I did not see it any where on the web site. Talk about a ridiculous cost to park while you canoe. I said for even handicap senior citizens she said yes. I said Well I am not paying that, I can't afford that, we will figure out what else we can do. So I looked around for some place to park where we could walk into the park without paying couldn't find anywhere. So, we went to the one that is in ann arbor FREE PARKING. Ridiculous it would seem like something else could be figured out with this expensive cost. For about an hour we could hardly keep up! It was awesome, it wasn't fishing -IT WAS CATCHING. Within an 1.5-2 hrs we had already maxed our daily limit! I've NEVER done that so quickly. We caught 3 HUGE mamas too that ALMOST Michigan master angler size (only 2 inches off ), that was the peak moment of the trip. My brother & I booked this charter for our Dad for Father's Day, since somehow he had NEVER been walleye fishing. Needless to say this was the best first walleye fishing experience we could have had! Prior to booking I hopped on a call with Captain Ben & he was awesome, answered all my questions & got us booked with ease. A few days before, he checked in with me & reminded me to get our Ohio 1 day licenses - which I'm grateful for because I wouldn't have remembered He cleaned our walleye haul super quickly & did a great job, bagged em & we were on our merry way back home before 10 am! We loved being on the water. It was peaceful and pretty. We walked up to The clam digger restaurant (about a mile from the campground) and had GREAT pizza and excellent service there. Veronica at the campground was easy to reach and always replied within an hour or two. Ron was also helpful on-site to lead us to our site and help us back in. It's likely we'll return here!
