    Kull Lumber Company

    Kull Lumber Company

I just got off the phone with Mike Kull who originally sold me my beautiful kitchen cabinets. I was…read morevery happy with them. I also purchased my countertop through them and then fast forward about a year. I had a fire in my home and had to have my bathroom redone. I liked the idea of having matching cabinets in my bathroom. I additionally ordered cabinetry for my laundry room. After the cabinets came in my contractor noticed the doors were not the same as the kitchen and that the order was wrong. Becky who designs cabinets from there admitted that she had made a mistake (oh f---) were her words and ordered quarter overlay instead of full overlay doors. Since it was their fault they made it right at their cost.My kitchen cabinets have smoke damage and need replaced. Kull Lumber has "chosen" not to work with me and refuses to order my cabinets. So my business is not good enough now. Why? Because they made a mistake. The cabinets that I want are the ones I have. They initially gave me a quote to replace them and then decided not to order them. I highly recommend you go to another company for your Custom made cabinets. Mike would not even own up to making the mistake who talked to him. He chooses not to do business with me. Becky made an error that cost their company thousands of dollars. I didn't make that mistake. It's sick how they do business. DON'T GIVE THEM YOUR MONEY. Go To another company. And I might add that they refuse to allow me to order from a different representative in the area. If they don't want to work with me that's fine but they are trying to blackball me from getting my cabinets replaced. Mike said he wasn't but that's exactly what he is doing. Don't let Becky design your cabinets. She will try and tell you what to get and she doesn't give you all the options. Them when she makes an error the company will make it hard for you. Go ANYWHERE but Kulls.

I went to Home Depot to pick up our Christmas tree on 12-8-25. I will say that the two workers I…read moreencountered were very nice and friendly. The managers of this Home Depot need to make sure that whoever is working on the Christmas trees know how to use a chainsaw and power tools. The worker tonight was struggling to trim the bottom because he did not have the tree secure. He also did this without safety glasses. When he moved to drilling the hole in the bottom, he only drilled a half inch and then handed me the tree because the battery died. I asked him if he could get another because I needed that to put my tree up. He said no, they only had the one battery... at Home Depot. I drilled the rest at home. I am glad Home Depot had trees available but would almost of preferred a fake one after having to mess with the drilling at home.

I really hope HOME Depot in general goes out of business very poor ethics. Do not buy any Samsung…read moreappliances there. They are junk and their is no authorized Samsung dealers in the area. I fought with Samsung approximately three months to get a check for a defective ice maker they said they would pay to get replaced by a local business if I submitted my paid invoice they then denied it! The carpet install is another joke they say they offer free installation and I saved thousands on flooring at a local company. I ordered a door which came in wrong and had a tough time getting the issue resolved. I since moved out of state and was almost ripped off 10k by sending a water sample to a place that the home depot associated with. I literally just called and closed my HOME Depot card today. It is very unfortunate that you have to drive to Effingham, Terre Haute or Champaign to have other options. BUYER BEWARE! It was just posted HOME Depot today eliminated 800 jobs. I do feel sorry for the employees that work their if home depot goes out of business but very poor ethics for consumers that shop there.

Usually a very friendly, pleasant experience with welcoming staff…read more Not so on 4/15/24. The young man who appeared to be in charge, offered to have staff find my part for me, so I handed over the old part, received a new part from an older gentleman and checked out. It was the wrong size. I went back, telling the young man that I could not make the 1.5" part I was provided fit the 1.25" fitting (as it was not the same size as the part I provided for replacement), only to be thoroughly offended as he told me perhaps I needed a plumber (to replace a HAND tightened PVC sink trap). I assured him I was perfectly capable of changing out the simple part, when I HAVE the CORRECT replacement part. I showed him the original part and the wrong part, and received another trap. That did NOT fit. Both employees failed to note that the trap I provided was threaded on only ONE end and therefore gave me traps threaded on both ends. I take full responsibility for failing to check the replacement parts both times BEFORE purchase, as I had unfortunately grown accustomed to trusting the employees to know their business. After all, isn't it just a game of matching the part? Observation skills? Maybe that just can't be trained :-/ So now I had lost the time, distance, and convenience factors (thereby wasting my client's money) of going to Do It Best vs a big box store and I had been insulted. I went to the store a third time, rather frustrated, I think for good reason, only to find the young man had NO INTEREST WHATSOEVER in ASSISTING me with finding the correct part. He outright told me to go to a big box store. So much for the benefits one used to find by going to the local store :-(. Truly disappointing in a store I once enjoyed going to and whose employees were always kind and welcoming. Albeit, the woman behind the counter was still friendly and the guy at the paint counter was quite welcoming. Too bad it wasn't paint that I needed that day. Perhaps some employee training, education, or rearranging can help redeem the store eventually. But customer service like that was MUCH MUCH worse than no customer service at all! In the end, I looked for and found the correct part independently at a local family owned store. If you want something done right...
