We were in Charleston, IL for a friend's wedding and had hours to kill so we hit every antique shop…read morewithin 10 miles. We started out at Persimmon Lane and blew our entire budget there. It was a waste and a let down to even hit the other stores because all we could think of was everything we coveted at Persimmon Lane that we preferred to spend our money on so we came back a second time at the end of the day and spent more than we budgeted for and have no regrets. If our car was larger, we would have bought even more. Now we have a reason to come down to Charleston again. We haven't found an antique shop this great in three years, and the owners are the nicest, most helpful people you will find anywhere in retail. If you love industrial antiques, you will not leave Persimmon Lane without something cool. We bought a complete transit with box, instructions, and even receipt from 1948. The original owner paid $100.00, and we paid $130.00 - 64 years later. We thought it was a reproduction, it was in such perfect shape. We bought two, identical load cells from a large scale for $40.00 each, and lastly, we bought a Tandy, computerized chess game for $15.00. We didn't have room in the car for a giant, handmade, wood pulley for $95.00 that would have made an amazing coffee table. There were railroad spikes 4 for $10.00. If I had a better imagination, I would have bought them too. Persimmon Lane has an etsy page (very limited selection from their shop) and a facebook page (lots of updated photos of new stock) so I think I'll be shopping online from them. My friend in Charleston will be getting a gift certificate from Persimmon Lane for Christmas, as he told me he shops there once a week. How I envy his access!

This time was a different story. I walked don't the entire first floor and boy was I surprised! They have sage, crystals, jewelry, dream catchers, Greek supplies, tshirts, posters, records, etc. I really can go on and on. This store meets both your spiritual needs and eiu swag needs lol. Service was great. I had question about some crystals. The young man working let me know he didn't know much about crystals but his girlfriend did and she would at work the next day. I went the next day and she surely knew about crystals. She answered all of my questions and more. I really like this store! And everything is reasonably priced.

The furniture looks amazing, and is heavy from use of solid wood throughout, but unfortunately the…read moredevil is in the details. Of the two pieces we ordered, both had issues. Drawers did not line up correctly after delivery and we had to fidget to get them aligned properly. Not that big of an issue and not a deal breaker. But, that's when we discovered some troubling quality assurance issues which were sadly the nail in the coffin so to speak which results in both pieces being sent back for a refund. It's completely unacceptable to pay such a high price for furniture and have every single screw miss the rear support spars (you can see the points of the screws missing every spar in one of the pics). There's some basic math/measuring that should simply not occur when buying this supposed quality level of furniture. Also not sure why each piece had odd markings/marker notes on them. And you can see a piece of the backerboard was crushed. Again, where's the QC? We had waited anxiously for them and was sadly disappointed. For those who are sensitive to smells/chemicals, I'd also suggest leaving them outside after delivery since they ship them off as soon as they're built. This results in quite a bit of off-gassing. Not pleasant to sleep in a room that smells of chemicals. I really wish none of these QC issues had occurred with our delivery/furniture because I really did like them but at the end of day, even I.kea furniture has better QC.

Then two years later we contacted them again, and ordered a customized curio cabinet to match our hutch. Then this year we contacted them again for another curio cabinet, this time in a different configuration. And once again they customized it so all three pieces of furniture match. This company is amazing to work with, are very responsive, and create furniture that far exceeds my expectations. I recommend to anyone that is looking for quality furniture to work with this company. You will not be disappointed.

This was my family's first time at The Great Pumpkin Patch (NOTE: this was during COVID-19 times)…read more I have to say, I was impressed. They did a wonderful job following all current guidelines and went above and beyond. It was not crowded even on a Saturday afternoon and all staff and nearly all customers wore masks the whole time even when outside (they are required when interacting with staff). There was a wide variety of pumpkins, maybe more expensive than Negangards (if you're familiar), but not outrageous. Our kids has a blast picking out pumpkins and playing on some bigger ones. There were also cute little stations to take some photos. We stopped for some baked goods on the way out which they are selling using an outdoor set up. You can't go in the store and there are only portapotties, which I am sure is just due to COVID, but worth noting. We just ate in the car and at home. Everything was delicious! Granted - we've never been when they've had entrance fees and other activities so we can't compare, but we all had a great time and I actually prefer the simplicity of picking out pumpkins and just walking around with family vs bustling around from one thing to the next.

The shops are nice and have a good variety of items to buy, and they seemed to be of good quality. The pumpkins themselves were expensive and at least one of the mazes costs additional money after the entrance fee, which we thought was a bit much. Most of the things to do there are free, however. Every employee we encountered was kind and knowledgeable.
