My son loves his teacher and looks forward to going to school. In the small school community all the teachers know you and your child's name. The lead teachers at Evergreen are experienced, knowledgeable and caring. The individual attention that the children receive has been crucial to my son's academic and social development. His joy of learning is genuine and intrinsic - I attribute this to Evergreen. I am confident that he will carry this love and curiosity for discovering new things throughout his life. Evergreen also has a robust art and music program. The Montessori implementation at Evergreen is unmatched in this part of Montgomery County. Evergreen School is truly a gem. The staff is incredible--many even have their own children enrolled or previously enrolled, which really shows how much they believe in the program. LCYC truly feels like a community of parents and teachers working together to help the kids learn and grow. The smaller class sizes make such a difference and really allow for personalized attention. Our children have had a seamless adjustment with the assistance of warm, loving teachers truly interested in their growth and development. They have made diverse friends and enjoy attending school each day. I am not a parent who feels deeply about any particular "curriculums" for young children except play, exploration, love, and more play, particularly outside, so I will simply say that our children return home every evening refreshed and happy from an active day, and with surprising knowledge of things I had no clue about in nursery school. My son has been at CLNS for 3 years now. We have had the best experience I could have hoped for. I…read morelove each of the highly skilled/educated teachers and my son loved his time in each of their classes. They build confidence and the love of learning through play, meeting each child where they are. CLNS was also an education for me in parenting - in a very loving and non-judgmental way. For example, when my son was 2, it didn't benefit my son for me to anxiously ask him to apologize for taking a toy or accidentally stepping on another child's sand creation. Without shaming me or my son, the teachers demonstrated how to teach empathy verses forcing a meaningless (at that age) statement. They assured me that it was totally normal that my son was a tad late on the potty training front. They never any shame or force kids - they magically create confident kids who love learning. An unexpected benefit was the CLNS community of families, that was a huge support through these early years - I am so sad for this year to end. My sons favorite part: the awesome playground that is very organic and inspires creativity.

This school is very well run, has great facilities and classroom space and a wonderful staff. The atmosphere is very warm and friendly. Each morning we're greeted by the director at the door, she knows all of the children (and siblings) by name. The school is very secure as well, the door is locked after drop-off and there is a wonderful gated playground for the kids. The staff is very welcoming and responsive, there is great communication with the parents. The curriculum is great and includes several in-school field trips (visits from traveling petting zoos, Otto the safety auto, etc.). The kids love going to school. We have been incredibly pleased with our experience at this school and highly recommend it.

We started using Circle Time at the Wheaton location with our first son in 2016 when he was 6…read moremonths old. Now my younger son goes there and my oldest has moved into the older classes at the Kensington location. We expect to keep both there until they start kindergarten since they have pre-K. We have absolutely nothing but the best things to say about them. Everyone is extremely loving with the kids. I know they are getting the best care and my oldest is completely bilingual as he has grown up learning Spanish and English from his teachers. Both kids love going (the baby does a little dance in his car seat when we arrive). I feel very confident not only in their excellent care but also that their level of teaching is top notch as I "catch" my oldest knowing all kinds of things we haven't taught him. :)
