Such a great lil market - cheese, wine, booch, and an increasing amount of essentials. This is my go to during quarantine.

The gorgeous turquoise mugs certainly make the coffee more appealing than it actually is. While our drinks were good, they weren't great. The cappucinos, lattes, chai and matchas were prepared well, but the quality of the ingredients didn't quite hit the mark. The gelatos particularly were not good and next time I would suggest ordering their drinks over the gelatos. The French toast donut we ordered was fresh, fluffy and perhaps the best of all our orders. Five stars for service. On a very busy holiday Monday, only two staff members were managing a long line of customers near the end of what I could only assume to be a very long and busy day. Despite appearing overwhelmed, they remained patient, professional and attentive..... and didn't make a single mistake with our orders. Their effort truly stood out and elevated the experience.

You never know what might be going on in front of this bar/cafe. We watched a guy and girl do a skate board photo shoot doing some crazy tricks. Super friendly. You do not wait for a table you seat yourself. Someone will come with a two sided menu. Now on to the food. The food is decent. Not over the top. Pricing is about $10-$20 depending what you order. We got the salad without feta cheese with ranch, which was ok. The clam chowder that I've seen raved about I was disappointed as it did not come in a bread bowl. But it wasn't bad. Fries were the perfect mixture of crispy and soft. The magi mahi sandwich was good. I bet they got a lot of dine and dashers previously because they take your credit card up front. So don't be surprised when they ask you for it.

The bright green colors of the store front are fun and the back patio is spacious. Everyone here, including the customers are pretty sociable. I had a couple shots at the front of the bar with the staff and took a mango lassi mixed drink to the covered patio in the back. The flavor combination of this was very refreshing. It was a lil' thicker than your typical mango lassi, but the faint sweetness did a great job at masking the earthiness of the kava. It was bomb and I would have loved to order 2 but I hadn't eaten so that was not the move lol The space has their own parking lot, as well as easy street parking. The patio is nice and ambient with music playing and many boardgames available for your entertainment. The bathroom was clean and had some funny Barbie dolls on display in there. The effect of kava is mellow and puts you in a positive head space. It also does truly enhance your desire to have discussions and connect with each other. If you appreciate any of that, you will like it here for sure. Overall, the kava served at Kavahana is well mixed and the environment is curated in such a cute way, it just makes you want to come back and chill out with the homies. I highly recommend!
