Finnegan was a high maintenance, medically difficult, adorable pug. Vincent was very gentle with him in his final days and could help me on a moment's notice. Now that Finn is gone, Vincent has helped Penelope adjust to being an only child and has helped her to socialize with some of the other dogs. She really only liked her brother but I'm grateful that she is learning how to interact with the other dogs in the neighborhood.
