Boss man wanted to stop in, said he went here a lot as a kid. Has a real nice cozy atmosphere to the place. Reminds me of a pizza place I went to as a young lad. We both got pizzas, and then some garlic toast with cheese. The garlic toast brought me back to when Pizza Hut used to offer that, and I always was a huge fan, so points there. The marinara was excellent. As for the pizza, I got a pepperoni with mushroom and onion pan pizza. The crust was solid, a nice Crunch with some softness. Sauce was great, toppings were good. Everything was baked really well. Staff was friendly on top of all this. I highly recommend stopping if you're near New Ulm and want some good food. read more

Usually great pizza... But they never stay open until they're supposed to, you call them an hour and a half before they're supposed to close and they say oh we've stop delivering an hour ago because there weren't enough deliveries. That sucks. If your have business hours keep them. read more

Happy Joes use to be the best pizza joint around!! Sadly it has gone down hill fast! No buffet, a medium pepperoni pizza for $15 and when u call to order a pizza and they say they are out of larges makes me really scratch my head!! Good thing for Casey's!! read more

Very tasty pizza. The only downside is my co-workers always want to order breakfast pizza in the AM but they never open at 9AM like it says they do. I called at 9,10, &11AM one morning and no one was there yet. So frustrating. It is also very overly priced-about $25 for a large pizza. However, they do have the best pizza in town. read more

Not impressed at all. I wanted to give this place a good shot since it's evidently an institution to this town which is my BF's current hometown, but I can't say that the food is worth anything more than my current rating which is more than generous. I can't say that I would call what this place serves as "pizza". It honestly tasted like something that was heated up out of a box-but honestly, a box Digiorno has more flavor and isn't half as GREASY. At least it would have some crust. The pies here were cracker thin with no dough or crust, no sauce and the weirdest part is that people recommended that you pile up lettuce/ground beef/tomato and crushed taco shells for "taco pizza"? I'm an Italian and that is too much culture mush for me. If it was done well it would work but it was not done well, neither the "tacos" nor the "pizza" were good and together they were worse. There were so many people crammed into this place it was nauseating. It was the 4th of July and I would honestly have preferred to be out in the fresh air and sunshine, but I was stuck in a cramped Chuck-E-Cheese style place with way more kids than adults running around. The arcade area seemed to hold them back for awhile until they inevitably ran out of tokens and came screaming back to mommy for more money for some prize that cost $5 to buy and $20 to win. The whole place smelled of sweat, every surface was covered in dried Dr. Pepper residue and the air smelled of people who wanted to go home. I've never been a fan of buffets since you never know what the person ahead of you did before you came and picked up that chicken tender. Ew. Same reason I won't eat at a pizza buffet, and I am not fond of eating of pizzas (questionable) that have been sitting out for who knows how long. I hate to break it to people that are fans of this place, but if you have never experienced better pizza in your life, there is better out there. read more

My family came on a Friday night at 5 p.m. Not busy at all. Ordered pizzas off the menu. My wife was pleased to find a gluten-free option. My pizza was tasty, and my kids liked their meals. They spent a good hour playing games and collecting tokens. Now, there are pizza places that I like more because of their pizza, but for the overall experience, I'm giving it a 4/5. read more

OMG for real for real these guys are the king of taco pizza, all time, for real!!! Happy Joe claims to be the inventor of taco pizza, and I believe him. Sioux Falls had a Happy Joe's when I was a kid - it closed when I was about ten. Tonight it was stormy and I was in New Ulm and I found Happy Joe's. I ate the buffet yesterday and it was Great! First the salad bar. Everything was fresh and delicious. 6 different types of dressing, everything you would want for a salad including pepperoni. Two types of lettuce even!! Not bad for a pizza place. Next the pizza. 11 different types to choose from. Taco was a hit as well as their pineapple and Canadian bacon. They also had chewy chocolate chip cookies! Finally the chicken. What a delight having juicy tender chicken, mashed potatoes and gravy! I was even dipping the pizza crust in the savory gravy. Fast, efficient, staff is friendly. This is the best Happy Joe's location I have been to. Good pizza, great to take the kids to.

Everything was burned the pizza the bread sticks even the bbq wings were burned they have no meat on them either tye bathroom's are relatively nice except that the tolet was green and rusty! Also the service was bad they took around 8 minutes before they even saw us and there was maby 2 other people there. read more

A franchise chain, with all its strengths and weaknesses. Average pizza, at best, with an occasional fun choice like the Taco pizza. The dining area isn't large, so with a popular buffet line and lots of kids, it gets pretty loud. read more

My family and I tried this place for the first time and it was total disappointment! Walked in on a Sunday and the first thing the "cashier" said was you can have the buffet but their is nothing left," Ok? we didn't come for the buffet, thanks though. Then Spent $30 in the game room, which when we turned in our tickets, the girl at the counter couldn't have been ruder.. she basically made my 3year old hit her head on the glass because she RUDLEY said "I don't even know what you're pointing at." (Even though it was clear what my daughter wanted) Whatever shook that off came back to the table figuring our pizza would be there, but it wasn't...waited another 10-15 minutes and asked our waitress "how much longer" she comes back and said the pizza was NEVER put in the oven. After 45 minutes we left still hungry!! I was appalled at how poor the service was from our waitress to the cashier to the manager and let us just walk out. I called the store 10 minutes after it happened and asked for the "manager" because I couldn't believe how BAD the entire experience was, all he said was "sorry" The man I talked on the phone was "part owner" which I was shocked!! He has no idea about customer service and takes NO responsibility for his nor his employees mistakes! AVOID THIS PLACE! read more
