I booked an entertainer from Happily Ever Laughter for my sons 4th birthday party and am glad I did. They've made it simple to do with their website where you can choose your package, character and activities. They worked with me via phone and email to iron out details like how much time we would need to dedicate to making balloons for each child, since we had more kids than the standard 15 that their menu is set for. Ms Zinnia was the magician that came to our party. She made sure to touch base with me a few days before the event and also texted me the day of to let me know she's on her way. She arrived a few minutes early to set up and was ready to start on time. The kids loved it. Zinnia was able to keep the kids drawn for the magic show and sing- along. The kids were all super excited to get their balloons afterwards. I had many parents compliment me on the entertainment since they were able to enjoy the party while their kids were having fun with Zinnia. We had Miss Spring over for our daughter's 7th birthday. We invited 11 girls and 1 boy. The boy was pretty bored and seemed ready to leave until Miss Spring arrived and then he and all the other children were wrapped around her finger the entire time. With a magic show, silliness, a walk to the park for the parachute games, and then face painting, the parents were happy to take a break and let Miss Spring run the show. Just for fun we had put pieces of dry ice in the garden and gave Miss Spring a watering can full of hot water to pour on a few of the plants which made them "smoke" when she watered them. Miss Spring was also attentive to our daughter's own room fairy (she has a fairy door in her room) and incorporated that information into her presentation. The sign-up process is excellent and the organization appears well run and responsive. The whole operation is in fairy character even with the e-mails and phone calls. Miss Spring was very intent on avoiding anything that would "break the magic" and went so far as to park down the street to minimize any children seeing her "chariot". It is the attention to the little things that really made a difference between Miss Spring being a fairy and a person showing up in a fairy costume acting like a fairy. A number of the other parents commented (including some Dad's) about how "into character" Miss Spring was. We will definitely look at this option again. If I had to do it again I probably would have had a second fairy show up towards the end to help with the face painting as that event is one child at a time. That being said, Miss Spring kept the girls engaged while she painted faces but having another fairly present would likely have been quite helpful to keep the kids entertained while the other painted faces or to paint faces twice as fast. The weather was questionable and Miss Spring did show up with some backup planned activities which we appreciated even though it all worked out and we didn't need them. read more
