This is a review of the Uto Kulm hotel, not one of the associated restaurants…read more My wife and I have stayed here twice while visiting family in Switzerland and loved our stay both times. The hotel's location cannot be beaten. There are great views of both the countryside and of the city of Zürich particularly if you go up the observation tower. The west facing hotel rooms also have absolutely gorgeous sunset views. The staff has always been very friendly and professional and a pleasure to deal with. What's probably most surprising about the Uto Kulm is how reasonably priced it can sometimes be. I'm guessing that they must do a lot of large parties and big events and during the times between those events there are often good deals to be had. We paid way less than you would expect for such a scenic place overlooking one of the most expensive cities in the world. Breakfast here is also delicious. It's not included in the base room rate but it is totally worth it. Everything is fresh and high quality and the view from the terrace is great.

You can walk up to the tower for a view over Zürich, but be aware that there are a LOT of steps. I had to take lots of breaks while going up. :P Tip: If you need to use the restroom, just walk into the restaurant and go down the stairs on the right. They also have a cool shoe cleaning machine in addition to the breathalyzer there.

Beautiful resort to get away right outside Lugano, and very close to the Italian boarder. Rooms are…read morebig and clean, staff is super friendly and very professional, a plus is that the resort is full of art pieces everywhere! The only downside is that the SPA area (pool) might get a little crowded on the weekends, a work around is to get a spa treatment, where you'll be in a completely different relaxed wing. Other than the pool area, the resort is so big there's plenty of places to relax :)
