As I wandered around Kalmar looking for a place to grab a bite, I happened upon this cute restaurant down at the end of a street near one of the gateways to the city. The menu looked good, the staff was friendly, so in I went.
It was a perfect night so we opted to sit outside on the patio. They have plenty of heaters but we opted for seats along the perimeter ( better for people watching!) and if the truth be told - the heaters were a little warm for this Chicago gal!!
The fare is simple but quite good. I had the chicken breast served with fries and a mushroom sundried tomato sauce and my dining parter had the filet. Here's a tip- order your steak medium even if you like it less done. The medium we ordered was definitely closer to rare.
The house wine was decent and service was friendly and accommodating.
Another good thing? It's just far enough from the plaza so if a band is playing on the night you are there- the music isn't too loud the way it is in the restaurants right on the square!
