We had a reverse osmosis system installed. The plumber, John, worked very efficiently and his work was excellent quality.

My wife called a local out fit and left message I called Laneys and was on the phone for quite a while with them ruling out that the line to drain field could be frozen then he helped me by pass the electricity to the switch and the pumped but only shut off by pulling the plug, so I could use 30 gallons and repeat. Next morning Laneys had a guy out before the other plumber even called back. He pointed out the cover over pump also badly needed to be replaced fixed my switch in a couple days replaced and sealed cover. I wanted to write this because I read the other review and I thanked again the Laney people at the home show.

(This happened last summer) I have a lake home that needed a new well pump. So I made a call to…read moreLaney's so they could come out and install it. I had already bought my own but when the guy got there he said that it was too small. He told me he could install it but he would have to run to the hardware store to get the pump but was nice enough to tell me that I could buy it myself for half as much as Laney's charges. Having SOME knowledge of plumbing I decided I would go buy the pump, all the fittings, and do it myself. Because it was all copper before I decided to do copper again. I cut the pipe to proper lengths and put everything together. When I put the copper together I used this solder-less glue I found at the hardware store. After I primed the pump I turned it on and it pushed out the water that was used to prime and then no more water. Which meant it was a problem between the well and the pump. I removed everything that I had installed from the pump to the well. Then I called Laney's thinking they could solder the copper fittings and that would be that. The guy came out and pointed out that an end cap wasn't shut(dumb me) so I told him to fix it up and thought that would be that(maybe an hour of work) As he worked I was painting my cabin. He came to me once telling me he needed to go to the hardware store. I lost all track of time while I was painting and finally he comes back to show me what he's done. Turns out he removed all the copper(even the line to the house which was FINE) and replaced it with poly. When he explained it to me he said he went to poly because it was cheaper. When I received the bill I realized a few things 1. while poly is cheaper than copper it isn't when you've already purchased and cut a ten foot stick you purchased at the hardware store(not to mention the fittings) 2. They were charging more three hours of labor for a job that took me an hour so I wanted an expansion of time since I knew he ran to the hardware store. They told me that they had GPS on their vehicles but it malfunctioned. Now since the plumber had been there before I feel that if they need to run to the hardware store that's on their time not mine. I filed a complaint with Better Business Bureau. Laney's then contacted me to say they would take off two hours of labor and agreed that the plumber should have let me know he was switching to poly. Then the BBB called saying Laney's is denying any wrongdoing, but have agreed to the payment of labor and that Laney's and I have agreed to no longer do business. Won't be calling them again.

I would give them a zero if I could. I was trying to set up getting an instant filtered hot water…read moresystem for the kitchen sink. I called a few plumbers trying to get a bid to know how much it would cost. I traded a few calls with Legacy and was given a bid of 300-500 dollars to install a non RO system. John the service manager gave that number. To be specific they would need to come out and look at it which would cost 60.00 but would be taken off the price once they installed it. The young, seemingly inexperienced plumber met me and looked at the sink (in a new home with plug ins available as well as plenty of space). He looked at it for about 5 minutes and had no idea what to do then went to his truck to call John. He came back about 40 minutes later and the bid was 2200.00 if they provided the system and 800.00 if we provided it. Then added the two together so the bid was 3000.00. I made it clear that I would not have scheduled them to come out if it wasn't going to be in the 300-500 range. I spoke to both the person who gave me the bid and John who authorized the bid and both remembered and validated that they had given me those numbers and Hohn did not tell me there were any reasons/complications for it to have gone up so high. He also still insisted on collecting the 60.00 and told me they couldn't give me an itemized bid because they don't do that when I requested one. In the end I got it installed by another plumber for 325.00 which was the low end of Legacy's original bid. I may only be out $60.00 but their unethical and unprofessional practices really made me feel taken advantage of. We were looking for a plumber that we could use for other projects and trust is one of the top things I need in anyone who I deal with and I was hugely disappointed. I also spoke with John on more than one occasion and gave him the opportunity to make this right and he did not.
