Inadequate representation I do not recommend the attorney that I worked with at this office. The attorney often did not act in a timely manner. I felt like my case was not as important as other bigger cases. The attorney made a mistake and would not correct the mistake but required me to pay for any further services to correct the mistake. This mistake cost me thousands of dollars and still is not resolved. When I tried to discuss this with the attorney, I was told that I agreed to the actions and was made to feel that it was my fault. I paid good money for representation on a legal matter that I am not qualified to handle and was not well represented. I would not recommend this attorney. read more

I was directed to Hansen Law by a neighbor. The initial consultation went well. Cherylyn Egnar agreed to handle my delicate case involving my daughter and her stepfather. Initially, I thought I was going to be represented well, but that was not the case. Cherylyn informed the defendant of our intent before filing in the court system. This gave him an opportunity to file a protective order, overriding my custody order. the case went through 3rd district, then 4th district before a guardian adlidum representing the stepdad's side actually informed Cherylyn that the protective order was not filed under the terms of a protective order. the case was dropped. I then wanted to appeal the finding of DCFS and durring this time I was talked down to, and felt like I was being treated like a criminal by my own lawyer. All I wanted to do was clear my name. She represented me and failed to even talk to my witness, who had valuable information that needed to be put on record. She also said she would check into some illegal filing activity by stepdad and I never heard back. Didn't even get a response from her regarding the final ruling of the appeal. The only thing Hansen Law was good at was collecting my money. read more

We went to Hansen Wright Eddy & Haws for a private adoption. Our experience was very good. During the initial meeting they were willing to answer all of our questions and later when we found a birth mom they were great. Cherylyn Egner worked with us. She was personable and professional. I never worried that contact with the birth mom would be anything but a positive experience. Their rates were fair and I never felt like they were overcharging us or causing us any undue expense. I would absolutely recommend working with them for adoptions. Having a legal intermediary made sure that the birth mom got everything she needed, but that we didn't pay for anything that would be beyond the scope of what was legal. When we had a few unforeseen circumstances come up (as is common in adoptions) the law firm worked quickly to assist us and make sure the adoption continued to go smoothly. And when it came time to finalize the adoption, everything was ready to go for a stress free visit to the courthouse. read more
