Unprofessional, Not Child-Appropriate, and Abandoned a Pediatric Patient I am beyond disappointed with my experience at this dental office, and I feel obligated to warn other parents. This office is not kid-friendly, not compassionate, and completely unprofessional when dealing with pediatric patients. My daughter was in extreme pain during a tooth extraction, crying loudly and trying to get out of the chair due to how traumatic and painful the experience was. Any parent in that situation would be distressed. Instead of showing professionalism, patience, or basic bedside manner, the dentist became confrontational, escalated the situation, and ultimately refused to complete the procedure. She abruptly walked away and told us to "go somewhere else," leaving my child in the chair with instruments still in her mouth, actively bleeding, and with a broken tooth left unfinished. My daughter was left crying, shaken, and injured--both physically and emotionally. Abandoning a pediatric patient mid-procedure is unacceptable and dangerous. This was not just poor service; it was reckless and traumatizing. I will never return here, and I strongly advise parents to think twice before trusting this office with their children. read more

Dentist is great but office staff need to change their policies. They will cancel your appointment on you just for not confirming. Then when you go to rebook it they are booking 6 months out. When the dentist himself agreed to give my children school notes the office manager denied being able to do so. Then after being told my children were on the waitlist I was informed thy hadn't actually been put on the wait list. When questioning the office manager was rude and hung up the phone. She then emailed me a dismissal for my family. The office staff need to adjust their policies as they lack compassion and understanding. read more

I had reached out to this dentist as it was recommended because my 6-yr old with high anxiety needs a procedure, was thinking of switching all care to them but will never go back. There was a young girl that took us in for xrays, my daughter was scared, crying, afraid for me to leave the room but I tried to get her to cooperate she wouldn't--- ok fine, we were sent to the dentist chair where I tried to calm her down and she could hear a little girl at a different chair also scared... she was told by her dentist "we can do things the easy way or the hard way, you dont want me to have Daddy have to open your mouth" so my daughter continued to cry and said she wanted to leave. I explained we are only looking today nothing else etc. she sat in the chair but when the Dr.Groff w/out warning started to raise and lean the chair back she jumped down and ran to me. We got her back to the chair and I walked around the other side but at this point she was already worked up, I couldn't get her to lay back down, Dr. Groff tried to make small talk-how old are you?- 6 -Ok then you need to do what your told you dont need your mommy she doesn't go to school with you right etc. Em was in the chair but didn't want to lay down I was getting her to that point finally when Dr.Groff made the same statement we heard other staff use. We can do this the easy way, or the hard way and she grabbed by childs face forcing her to lay down telling her to open her mouth and saying don't bite me ... my child was literally gagging and hyperventilating, kicking trying to get up. I grabbed her hand and pushed her away from my child and said do not ever put your hands on a child like that, pulled my daughter out of the chair and walked out looking at the marks on my child's face. Calmed her down and walked back in and asked the woman at the desk who the woman was that just put her hands on my child she said Dr. Groff. I let her know I'd be reporting the incident and that she should not have her license that is abuse. We took our then 13 month old son in for his first dentist appointment, which we assumed was going to be a gentle introduction to having his teeth cleaned. Both the dental hygienist and the dentist were brusque and rushed, not engaging with my son or trying to make him comfortable, there was absolutely no "warm up" or friendliness. My son was clearly nervous and they insisted on us holding him down on a board between our legs, which of course escalated to crying. Despite his distress they still insisted that this was "normal" and they still wanted to look at his teeth. At that point we left. I was disturbed at the lack of bedside manner for a young child. This is absolutely not what we expected from a pediatric dentist. Perhaps this facility is better suited to older children, or perhaps we just caught them on an off day, but I'm writing this review as a warning for any other parents of young babies / toddlers. read more

I brought my 8 week old baby here today for a lip, tie and tongue tie, I had Dr. Groff her bedside manner was nothing short of impeccable. She was kind and explained everything, and went into detail what was going to happen from this procedure, what's going to happen after, it really helped me feel so much better about it, seeing as I've never gone though any of this before with any of my other kids. Her assistant was really nice, she helped me carry my stuff out, and just everyone that interacted with while I was there was so nice. I highly recommend Dr. Groff to anyone!! I live 45 minutes away, but I just found all of my kids new dentist!! read more

Staff is polite and courteous, hygienist was very nice and worked well with our daughter. This appointment was made weeks ago, specifically for an extraction. Our 7 year-old daughter has her adult teeth growing in behind her baby teeth and her baby teeth wouldn't budge. She is out sixth of seven kids and this is not our first rodeo. She had to have her first two bottom teeth pulled last summer for the exact same reason. We have had other children need their "shark teeth" pulled for this very reason. My husband explained that the teeth needed to be pulled, the appointment was made and the scheduler said that they'd "tack on a cleaning" because she was due. Sounds great. We received instructions that our daughter not eat or drink anything for two hours prior to her appointment, which was at 11 am. She was a trooper and didn't complain once, she hadn't eaten all day in anticipation of her extraction. My daughter was taken in on time, which was very nice. X-rays first, then the cleaning. The hygienist told my husband that the dentist would be in in "a couple of minutes". She agreed that the teeth weren't wiggly and were stuck and would need to be pulled. Fast forward to nearly half an hour later when Dr Groff comes in, looks in our daughter's mouth and tells my husband she will need to have had nothing to eat or drink for two hours, he told her she hadn't and she was ready. She told him there was only one person allowed in the room during the extraction, he had our 4 year-old son sitting with him (he was behaving), she told my husband they would have to wait in the waiting room, my husband said no problem. She got up to leave and told him to go schedule the extraction with the front desk. Then came the gaslighting and lies where they tried saying it was only a cleaning and they don't schedule extractions at initial appointments. No one once said that and my husband was very clear that these teeth needed pulling before school starts. The dentist was uncaring and all business. Unfortunately, the practice we were at before dropped our insurance, they were much kinder and engaging. Dr Groff gave no explanation for why she wouldn't perform the extraction as we had scheduled. To have to wait a half hour to be told that we need to come back in September? My husband was going to take a personal day off work because we have no child care available. Very hurt and disappointed that this practice wasted our time and disrespected us like this. We would have brought the rest of the kids, but I guess it's better we found out early on that this is the way they run their business. Take your vitamins and brush and floss daily, friends. It's a sad state of affairs in healthcare at the moment. No one cares any more. Burnt out and apathetic. read more

I brought my 13 month old to Dr. Kaplan for a consult on his tongue and lip tie. We had been referred by our regular pediatric dentist. Dr. Kaplan explained everything in detail, helped us understand what issues my baby is experiencing related to his ties, and how it can create issues for his future. He then took photos of the ties and talked through our options. I never felt pressured to go through with procedures or anything. We ultimately decided to go forward with releasing his lip and tongue tie that day. I'm so glad we did! I would bring any kid to see Dr. Kaplan and the rest of the team. Highly recommend everyone we worked with from the front desk, Dr. Kaplan and his dental assistant, and the lactation consultant/pediatric NP who we met with after the procedure. Dr. Kaplan, his team, and the entire office were so incredible. We brought our 2 month old baby girl to be evaluated for oral ties because breastfeeding was so painful I ended up stopping because every single LC, pediatrician, and nurse in the hospital told me she didn't have any ties and I just needed to get used to the pain. But after about 2 months of bottle feeding, we noticed she's still having issues latching. The whole team made me feel so seen and heard even before looking in her mouth. They explained everything so well we were left with very few questions. When this practice was recommended to me I wasn't a fan of the long drive from where we live but honestly it was SO worth it. This is an excellent pediatric dentistry. The staff is very friendly and they take great care of my kids when we visit. My children actually like to go the dentist! I never thought I would say that. My appointments seem to be always on time and quick. The office is always spotless and clean. The front desk crew is nice and they help make my family and I feel comfortable through every step in the visit. Especially with scheduling and reminders. It was out first visit today with my two year old. We were having a consult with Dr Kaplan for lip tie tongue tie . We arrived ten minutes early called the number on the door to check in and they instructed us to come in. We waited for about seven minutes and then met with Dr Kaplan and staff. Dr. Groff and her staff made both my toddlers feel at ease for their first dentist appointments and all of their check ups. The waiting room has iPads and TVs on the exam rooms. During Covid, they are taking every precaution, including temperature checks and wearing extra PPE, to make us feel safe. She explained potential procedures that may be needed down the road, and can do everything herself rather than sending us to a specialist. They actually enjoy going to the dentist! Awesome! The office is clean, bright and well equipped. Scheduling is easy and flexible. Dr. Groff is so wonderful, calm and welcoming. My son had to have a lot of work done and I thought it was going to be horrible and he would never want to go back to the dentist. But she made it manageable and was so good with him. Another dentist office actually recommended them to me! Just took my son here for his first dentist appointment and they are wonderful! There's a huge waiting room with toys, a movie playing and some tablets for kids to use. Very clean too! The exam rooms are very clean as well and there's another movie playing (which distracted my son lol) They were so patient with my son which I was definitely looking for when choosing a dentist. Everyone is friendly and very knowledgeable that works there. They explained to me how my insurance will work and when it will kick in ect. She also explained when the next visit will be and everything that will be happening and everything being used. There's even a check list she went over with me it was great. It's so comforting when they can clearly explain everything right there for you! (And gave me a copy of the check list) Right now I'm coming from exit 4 in Plymouth and it's worth the trip I'd definitely recommend it! read more
