I've had two bad experiences here now, and this will definitely be my last visit…read more The receptionist at the front showed little to no customer service skills. During my most recent appointment, I arrived on time for my 10:30am slot and ended up waiting over 30 minutes. While I was still waiting, other patients were being called ahead of me, which was frustrating and confusing. When I finally went up to the front desk to reschedule, the receptionist asked for my name again and still seemed unable to locate me in the system, even though she had already checked me in earlier. There was no acknowledgment or apology for the long wait. Instead, I was offered a new appointment over a month later, at the end of May. This isn't the first issue I've had either, on a previous occasion, I was told I'd receive a call to schedule an appointment, but after waiting a full month with no follow-up, I had to reach out myself. Overall, this place has been extremely disorganized and unprofessional in my experience. I would not recommend it.

Their office is conveniently located by the 390 entrance on Lake Street in Hanover Park, so I've been able to hit them up for my appointments much more easily than dentists with offices way out in Arlington Heights or Barrington. So far, I've had a couple cleanings here and each has been painless with a gentle touch. I was advised of a few potential cavities and being in my 40s, I was a bit like "Nah, they won't develop into cavities since I brush 2x per day and floss occasionally," but sure enough -- a few teeth have started hurting between my 6-month cleanings (I blame cocktails and pastries, LOL). Naturally, filling a few cavities -- versus neglecting and pulling those teeth -- is my next agenda here. There you go: they're very friendly, affordable (in conjunction with my insurance plan) and really local since I work in Schaumburg and live in Hanover Park. Their office staff is great too, keeping you in the loop with texts for appointments and general updates.

I floss at LEAST once a day and brush twice. I just couldn't belive my teeth were that bad. She got a predertimination from my insurance and it would cost $970 about $600 out of my pocket. I himmed and hawwwed about going. I heard horror stories about it. My gut said to get a second opinion. So, I did. It cost me $121 and I brought my xrays and chart that she had done. My chart read 4,5's through out all my back teeth. Well, when I went to get a second oppinion, my teeth were actually 2,3's and 3,3's I had 2 3,4. NOT ONE 4,5. She's a LIAR. If she does that to 100 people a year (probably way more) do the #'s she's making a lot of money doing unnecessary work!!!!!!! I'd advise you NOT to goto her. And if ONE person changes their mind from my post, it was worth taking the time to post. Find a different dentist that you can hopefully trust. I didn't even want to give them a star. She doesn't deserve it. I've emailed her asking for a refund for the exam that was lies. Haven't heard from her.

I waited about 45 minutes for my appointment to begin, and I was initially treated rudely by both the dentist and the assistant. I thought that she might simply be busy. However, it was Friday, and the dentist appeared to answer personal calls and other social activities while I waited. When the service did begin, the assistant was very nice and treated me pretty kindly, and Dr. Obucina was not bad. I believe she was thorough in her assessment and that she gave an appropriate amount of information. However, upon my exit, she seemed cold, business-like and as if I did not matter at all to her as a person. The experience left me feeling ignored and unappreciated as a customer, and I do not think I would return. My disappointment may be in part because I had such high hopes initially, given the reviews I had read via Yelp (and I was actually going to recommend my many personal acquaintances to Dr. Obucina), but the experience left a bad taste in my mouth, figuratively speaking, and I do not think any customer should experience such treatment. On the positive side, I received a pretty good deal on the service.

I also explained to them that the ADA (American Dental Association) stated that x-rays typically are only required every 3 years. Today, they waited until I was sitting in the chair and told me if I don't get x-rays today, then I would have to leave. I pointed out to them they could have called me to tell me that and I could have made an appointment with a more ethical dentist. And, by the way, the dentist never came out to tell me any of this.
