Golf course is good. Club house is uncomfortable on a hot day. Service is good sometimes

This review is for the restaurant/banquet area, not the golf course itself. We had an event for my parents this past weekend which included a buffet lunch for 35 people (planned for 50). Everything ran on time and smoothly. The food we had was delicious and they were able to help us out with the things we needed for serving our desserts, that we brought from a local bakery (Main Street Bakery & Cafe, in Leslie). read more

This has always been a family favorite place to go for many years. At times they've had delicious dinner entrees & simple pub food done right. Not sure who's in charge of the kitchen now but I've eaten here twice this summer (thinking the first time was an "off day") & could not have been more disgusted & disappointed in the lunch. I ordered a BLT & coleslaw that was apparently made 2 weeks ago. My sandwich had that stinking thin bacon, undercooked, with tough outer lettuce leaves & unripe tomato on toast that fell apart for $8. The hamburger was some mystery meat, flavorless & not even the color a burger should be...for another $8. It was likely a frozen product with a substantial amount of filler then microwaved & had the same lettuce & tomato as the BLT. I'm getting tired of writing bad reviews but COME ON PEOPLE! If you don't know how to cook or order good, honest food from your purveyors then give it up & move on! It's no wonder restaurants can't keep customers or staff! SMH. read more

I have never golfed a worse course than what I golfed on at Hankerd Hills tonight. We played the front and you could see right away that the very first fairway was like straw. Then when we got up to the first green, we could see that it was grey and brown, not green anywhere. The grass was so matted down and dry that it was like putting on cement. This was the case with at least 6 out of the 9 greens on the front. The fairways were dry and many were covered with grass clippings. There are MANY other courses in Jackson in great condition. No reason to waste your hard earned money at Hankerd Hills. Supposedly they had an irrigation issue, but if they knew that and knew their course was in such poor condition, they should have offered everyone discounts. They should be ashamed of themselves for charging people full price to golf on a course that is in such horrible shape. read more

Played here in an outing and wasn't expecting too much; however I was pleasantly surprised by the course itself. It was in great shape, good challenging holes mixed with some easier ones. It's an older course though as the clubhouse is aged and the driving range looks like someone's backyard. Oh and good luck with the range tee box, it's almost impossible to find a good piece of grass to hit from. I would definitely play it again but it'd have to be for a reason to drive out an hour or so for myself. It's not a destination course by any means but they take care of you there, offer a great beer selection; food is just fine (the locals seem to love it, judging by how many came in just for lunch or breakfast) and it's in the middle of nowhere, which can be a nice departure from other courses. I'd recommend this course for any skill level as you'll find a good mix of challenges. read more

Ok golf course.restraunt deffinetly need help.food was very lame.salad bar has iceberg lettuce.tried food twice now and this place needs a new chef.wait staff dress like a country line dancing crew cut off jeans cell phones in back pockets.this is not a country club what so ever.i almost asked them if there was a put put and go cart course somewhere on property.if it wasn't for the company I work for throwing events there I would never return.they are too cheap to go to a real country club.if your new to golf and can't afford a real course or club this is for you.if you like pro course with great food don't bother.restraunt kind of reminded me of eating in a pro shop. read more
