I was referred to Hanger from my Podiatrist in order to make a custom made brace for my chronic ankle problems. The young man that fitted me for the brace was very nice, and I picked it up, several weeks later. It was very bulky and tall, which is fine, but he told me that I might need to get a different shoe size. I took it and went to multiple stores, trying on all types of shoes to fit this device inside of them. No way would it fit inside an athletic shoe, I tried hiking boots, other types of boots etc. Not going to work. I tired shoes/boots a size and a half bigger than my regular size, as well. If you have common sense, you will understand that that isn't going to work either, because I can wear extra socks to compensate, for the difference in sizes, it still wouldn't be comfortable. I took the boot back, because there was initially a heel on the brace of about an inch thick, I told him that the difference in height was going to throw my hips off, so he took that off. It still didn't work. I went to my regular Dr. and explained the situation, and took the boot with me. He could clearly see the problem. He referred me back to my podiatrist and recommended that I order a stable wrap brace on Amazon. So now I'm almost a $100 down, for a brace that is unusable.
