Ambiance and service were wonderful. The restaurant is large with low lighting. Our server was attentive and the food came out quickly. Most of our food was tasty, but there were a few oddities. The side salad was fresh, and we enjoyed the warm bread with honey butter that came out before the food. The crab legs were the highlight of the meal- they came out with melted butter that had a little candle beneath to keep it warm. That being said, the 6 oz steak that came with the crab legs (surf and turf) was way overcooked. I ordered the 12oz boneless ribeye. While it was cooked medium rare like I ordered, the fat was unrendered and several pieces were very chewy as a result. It was hard to cut on a metal plate. The caramelized onions were far from being caramelized; they were under seasoned and undercooked (still crispy). There was a pile of way overcooked green beans on the plate that had no seasoning. Who uses mushy green beans as a garnish? We wanted to love our experience. Overall it was okay. The food fell flat from our expectations. read more

Be prepared to wait to be seated for a while as the wait staff prepares your "haunting" experience. Once seated you will be handed slightly crumpled menus with a wide selection of horrific meal options. The selection may look like a normal American restaurant menu but don't be fooled they will whip up a scary concoction. My personal favorite is the blackened pasta (my receipt said Cajun pasta so I don't know what I actually ate of the two). You will first receive a normal salad but then you will receive the most terrifyingly disgusting pasta you have ever seen. Grease soaked angle hair pasta, mushrooms that are somehow burnt, uncooked pepper strings, and a cheese sauce that has no flavor whatsoever other than the lowrys seasoned salt sprinkled on top. The plate comes with a water and grease garnish that is just immaculate. The steak was good but had a bit more seasoned salt than needed. This terror entree will set you back $22. This is our 4th time here as a christmas party, and sadly this is the worst its ever been. The service was horrible for a party of 10. Our drinks were ordered but never served - we ended up having to go to the bar to get our drink orders - TWICE!! The prime rib was fine - honestly medium rare came out really rare... it was still ok. The seasoning wasn't mind blowing. The portion came out with quite a bit of fat on it too. I also added the 8oz lobster tail - it was horribly undercooked. And I mean it was mushy!!!! Service was very slow, and very inattentive. For the price you'd expect a better experience. Would not recommend. Two Skulls. - mainly because my Old Fashioned was tasty. read more

Our server Cydnee did the best she could with what she had to work with. The food took way too long and when it arrived it was hammered. They were out of their specialty prime rib at 6:30. I ordered the 12 oz rib eye medium rare. It was not 12 Oz and was medium well. It was served with asparagus that was so overdone it was not edible. We had been traveling all day and were starving. Also we were with a group and I did not want to send it back. All but 1 plate in our group had lots of food left when they finished. On top of all this our bill for 2 was almost $70. Had it been just the 2 of us I most certainly would have complained and probably refused to pay. This is a certain DON'T GO. read more

No Happy hour during the week. Food specials only after Thursday. I ate here 2x while staying in town. The Italian mea I had was super good, probably a couple dollars over priced as I believe a $20 meal should get you some leftovers. I had the fettuccini the second time and wow they gave a lot of pasta. The chicken wasn't cut to any rhyme or reason, it was good though, just wasn't the most appetizing. Bummed the beers were $7 for a tap. Seems high. Nice bartenders. read more

Usually I give a place a break and don't do this but I was extremely disappointed with my take out order. Ordered wings and steak. Steak was not seasoned and was over cooked. Under my steak was a warm orange slice and wilted lettuce. Garnish the dish correctly or don't do it at all. Then I didn't get the right flavor of wings so I went back and got the right ones which they happily corrected so I will give them that for doing good business. Then go back to eat and I open the wing containers and all of the ranch cups are completely empty. Ryan's is a great place to sit and eat but I do not recommend take out. read more

Don't bother. Saturday night we ordered 2 prime sandwiches with steak fries to go. The aujus was good the meat was from the weekend BEFORE. It tasted like the refrigerator!!!! It was dry!!! But it was rancid and inedible!!!! This is the second time I have eaten here. The first time I was part of a group of about 8. Slow service over cooked, dry and cold chicken on my asian chicken salad. The worst part is this used to be the place people went for special occasions. Who wants to spend an anniversary or birthday with dicey food or possible food poisoning?!! Some places deserve no stars read more

Surprised how good this place is service was top notch fresh warm bread and a very fresh salad was served with my meal. I hand the hanger steak. It was so tender and flavorful by far one of the best steaks I've had in South Dakota. Don't let the location put you off its cool to eat a great meal and watch the general aviation traffic at the airport. I will come back here next time I'm in Huron. read more

Really disappointed. I had a small sirloin steak that was tough and chewy. The broccoli and cauliflower medley was so overcooked it was mush. Baked potato and bread were the highlight of the meal which doesn't say much. My husband had chicken alfredo that was greasy with a very thin sauce and our guest had a chicken breast with wild rice. In both cases, the chicken was overcooked, dry and tough. The atmosphere and wait service were nice but wouldn't recommend this restaurant based on the food. read more

Overpriced for the quality. Had a Ribeye and it was tough. Flavor was ok. Ordered Green Beans and a loaded Baked Potato with my $29 16oz Ribeye. I was in Huron, SD in January for work, I went to the Hangar for dinner one nite on the recommendation of the hotel. The service and the food was good, my final bill was $40 with tip. When my CC statement came I was shocked to see a $760 charge from this establishment. I contacted the manager and he was able to locate the mistake and address it right away. Food service is a tought business to be in and alot of critics ready to cut you down over one bad experience. I will take honesty, integrity and the desire to make things right over that one bad experience. That's what makes me a return customer. I would agree with Norma W. that the Hangar has always been somewhat overpriced, but there are also less costly items on the menu as well that are under $12 which may suit your budget. They have relocated to the center of Town within the Crossroads Convention Center, which is an excellent choice, since their previous decor, always somewhat worn and gritty, has improved immensely. We ate there Sunday, Sept. 25, 2016, and found the food to be very hot when served, although my husband's ribs were very well done and not as tender as he would have liked. I could have probably had my fried shrimp and fries anywhere in town, so it wasn't anything extraordinary. But the wait staff is professional and you will be getting a nice, hot sit-down meal. read more

Always a pleasant experience if you want a steak or seafood. It's not fancy but it's adequate. Service is always spot on and steak is cooked to order. The meat quality is ok but kind of doubt it is choice. The price seems a little high in my opinion but yet I don't leave disappointed. read more
