Upon a recommendation from a friend, my husband and I hired Jonathan and his crew to:…read more- repair woodpecker siding damage on our chimney and exterior - replace exterior lighting - install new light fixtures in remodeled rooms - paint the exterior and trim of our house - scape popcorn ceilings in our large entry way, great room and bedrooms - resurface celings and paint them after scraping - paint bedrooms and quite tall great room We honestly couldn't have been happier with the results. They were very flexible with us when we paint change as well as while we were doing our own construction projects, the crew cleaned up each night (better than any contractor I've ever worked with), they installed all our new light fixtures to complete the remodel (because lord knows installing those things are the WORSE) and overall, Jonathan and his team were always very fair and professional. Would hire them again in a second and have already recommended them to friends looking to have general construction projects and painting projects completed.

I just wanted to thank you and your crews for helping me with my roof replacement project earlier…read morethis year. Even though I thought I had some amount of knowledge about roof repair, I tried multiple times to "take the easy route", and tried to repair it myself. I later had a friend who does roof repair on the side, also make an attempt. Needless to say, I suffered more interior damage, and almost more importantly, endured quite a bit of second guessing (nagging) from my spouse. Finally someone refereed me to Inside Out. Within a very short timeframe, one of your estimators came out to verify what my issues were. Right away I knew I was in good hands. Aaron did an inspection and confirmed what I already knew but was trying to avoid. I was very impressed with his knowledge and overall understanding of what was causing my problem. When we looked at the limited options, I agreed that I really needed a complete replacement due to water infiltration to my roof decking. At this point I had already received one quote from an alternate contractor, and was bracing myself for this new estimate. To my surprise, the new estimate came in quite a bit lower than expected. I was also pleased that the work was scheduled very quickly. When the replacement was scheduled, I was not able to adjust my schedule to be there for most of the installation. The crew also came across some unexpected issues when the existing roof membrane was removed. By description, these were real headaches to me. This was the time I realized the value of an experienced roof contractor. They already had the repair options lined up, and with a simple phone authorization, they were able to keep the project going to meet the original timeline. When I returned, I could hardly tell that anything happened, except I had a distinctively new looking roof. I never noticed how bad the old one really looked. I also did not see a thing out of place in my yard, and still don't know how they could have moved all of the material in/out without leaving as much as a nail in the grass?????? I also knew that they had done quite a bit of work that was not listed in the original scope, but was really surprised that the related costs were minimal, especially when they corrected the design problem that had caused my initial leaks, and I was still well below the original bid I had received from my local roof replacement company. Why didn't I call you sooner? Thanks again Tim Coty Hudson WI.

We had contracted Nielsen Remodeling to do a rather larger home/kitchen remodel which included…read morereplacing front and rear entry doors. We were excited to get the project underway, and anxious to see the new rear entry glass door and storm door the afternoon we returned from work. That excitement turned to disappointment when we saw the finished work. The two rear entry doors were installed, but from the exterior of the home, there was a 1/2" gap left all around the entire storm door where the vinyl siding was cut back too far. I could actually see the wood framing between the gap and knew rain and snow would be a problem, not to mention it simply looked horrendous. Further, the storm door had been damaged during installation. I called Dan and asked if he was finished and if this was the final product. He said that it was finished and I said that something had to be done, as I could see the framing of the house from 10 feet away. He suggested caulking the gap, but I told him I was not going to accept a thick gob of caulk all around the outside of the door . He said that we bought a cheap door and it was damaged before he installed it. I reminded him that I inspected both doors before installation and they were fine. And that both rear entry doors cost $1200. so they were not cheap doors. And even if they had been previously damaged, why would you install them damaged?? He then said that I gave him the wrong measurements. I reminded him that he came over by my request to verify the measurements and they were in fact his. He then said that the door was done and that's all he was gonna do, because that's all we paid for. By now, I know I am getting the run around and I am getting angry. I told him that for a $450 for door installation, I would expect much more than as a shoddy unfinished job. I then asked that he stop over to look at it with me, and he refused and hung up on me. About two hours later I got a text message stating that he would be back in the morning to fix it. The next day when I came home, he had repaired the damage he did to the storm door, replaced the ridiculously over-sized wood sash and repaired the gaps around the door with siding that matched the house. I was quite pleased and called to thank him but had to leave a voice mail message. He was to replace the front doors the next day, but kept giving my wife excuses as to why he couldn't stay on schedule. After two weeks, he calls and tells us he is done and then began to threaten to take us to court if we didn't pay for the rear door installation. I told him that we didn't get a bill for the work, but did send a check to his home two days earlier. I then told him that if he quits, that it would leave us another 2 to 3 weeks to get on another contractors schedule. his exact words were; "You should have thought of that before you complained" . In closing, his backing out of the job left my family without a kitchen for an additional 5 weeks until we were able to get another contractor to complete the work. Very unprofessional and full of excuses to his own shortcomings. I cannot recommend this company for any home remodel.

They explained what they were working through, especially when the new roof structure required careful planning and coordination. I never felt that questions were being avoided or that decisions were being made without considering the effect on the rest of the house. The value I received -- within a very clear, efficient timeline -- was also notable. The people working in my home were highly competent, friendly, considerate, and easy to have around. They paid attention to the details, cleaned up after themselves, and clearly cared about how the finished work would look. The new roof and Hygge room have completely changed this part of my home.
