I'm 25 weeks pregnant and booked a prenatal massage with Ellen for some desperate relief of back pain. She was fantastic and made this pregnant woman feel comfortable! I originally had booked a 90 minute massage. During the brief chat before the massage, Ellen kindly reminded me that during pregnancy we aren't always in control of our bodies and if at any point I was uncomfortable to let her know and we'd adjust accordingly. just shy of an hour into the massage, I flipped over to lay on my back so that she could work on my legs and lymphatic massage (swelling, am I right?). I quickly realized that I couldn't handle laying on my back at that time due to tremendous pressure on my lower spine. I spoke up and let Ellen know I was uncomfortable. She wrapped up my second foot and let me know it was okay if I needed to be done for the day. I thanked her, changed after she exited, and walked to the front desk fully anticipating paying for a 90 minute massage since that was the slot I booked. When I got up to the front Ellen let me know that she was only charging me for a 60 minute massage! I'm not sure if that's a Hands In Harmony policy or an Ellen policy, but kudos to you guys! They could've easily charged me the full 90 minutes, because regardless of if she was massaging me or not, I technically booked/reserved all of that time. Will absolutely be back!!! read more

My husband and I had booked an Ultimate Couples Massage as a belated anniversary gift to ourselves after a series of really hectic weeks. We arrived, tucked into the relaxation room, where we giggled in anticipation. We were led to a changing room where soft robes and wine awaited, then to the hot tub, where we both gratefully sank down in, enjoyed the lovely plate of fruit, cheeses, and Sweetopia chocolates, and felt the relaxation settling in. Melinda and Shelley transitioned us to the hour-long massages and worked their healing magic, unwinding gnarled spots and coaxing tight muscles into soft submission. These women know their craft. I had an absolutely outstanding experience during my recent visit. My massage with Ellen was exceptional--deeply relaxing while still delivering real tension relief. She has an incredible ability to find exactly where the stress hides and melt it away. I left feeling lighter, looser, and wishing the session could have lasted twice as long. My facial with Sam was equally impressive. He's truly gifted--my skin felt refreshed, glowing, and cared for in the best possible way. I recommend because my MASSAGE THERAPIST (Danyil) is amazing. Talks about things I'm interested in, is quiet when I'm quiet, put me at ease, listened to what I wanted and needed, did EXACTLY AS I ASKED during the session, and left me in much better condition than when I'd gotten there - I suffer from fibromyalgia and he checked in about pressure and my needs routinely, plus making sure he hit each pain area I asked him to work on. Will definitely be back to see him specifically. They have other lovely massage therapists there, too, but Danyil is by far my fave and I can't recommend booking with him enough. I would fully recommend Hands in Harmony. The environment was very relaxing. The staff was courteous and made you feel at home. Wahneta Dimmer was very helpful in answering questions and providing knowledgable feedback. I went in for a Craniosacral Massage and ended up getting a Lymphatic Drainage Massage instead. I have felt so much better since the therapy. After she explained why she went after that instead, I totally understood and agreed that needed to be done first. I went to Hands in Harmony not knowing what to expect. I was led to a very peaceful waiting room where I filled out my paperwork. The room had gentle music playing and a range of drinks, from water to coffee. My only complaint was that the rooms were a little cold. My therapist was running a few minutes late, but then made up for it by spending the extra time with me. I left feeling very relaxed and excited for my next chance to get there! I love working with Jessie Misfeldt in Cedar Rapids and have been going to her for four years now. The only reason I don't give them 5 stars is because the rates have risen since I started going there and now it is a bit pricy. As first timers, my boyfriend and I had no idea what to expect. The environment was completely warm and welcoming, and we were treated with a professional level of casualness. The whirlpool tub helped us get into the mindset of relaxing so we were ready for our massages afterwards. I received a Combo massage from Paul and I have to say, he is the best so far! Ive had 3 other massages and as they were enjoyable and effective, Paul was more mindful of the pressure and checked often if it was okay for me.
