If I could give negative stars, I would. Took it to these guys after my catalytic got stolen. I had it replaced and new oxygen sensors put on. I continued to have problems. Took it in, they found leaks which they said caused the oxygen sensors to go bad and would likely need a new catalytic converter. They had my car for a month and a half. I kept calling asking for updates and same excuse, that the parts had not arrived. FINALLY, they said the part arrived and ready to be picked up. I paid them $2000, leave their shop, make my first left turn and the check engine light came on. So I take it back in, they have my car for another couple weeks, say they fixed it and check engine lights comes on immediately as I leave their lot. I paid $2000 for them to fix it so I continue taking it back a few more times with hopes that I didn't waste my money. I give up. I've been out of a car, in total, for 4 months since I initially took it in and basically flushed $2k down the toilet. They didn't even have the courtesy to inflate my tires when I picked it up the last time. STAY AWAY from this place. read more

Mr. Handley is the best mechanic I've ever taken my car to. He is friendly and not condescending at all. Some places I've gone I felt talked down to because I'm a woman. I can't thank Mr. Handley and his team enough! My Check engine light was on and my air conditioner stopped working. Ford quoted me $2700 for a whole AC replacement so I just gave up on the idea of having air conditioning again and went all last summer without it. My husband started delivery driving this week and he was so miserable I convinced myself to shell out the money to have it fixed, but also wanted a second opinion. I chose Handley's mostly because of the proximity to my house and also the great reviews. My car's A/C went out 2 days before a month long trip from South Lake Tahoe, to Arizona, and all the way up to Alaska. By the time we were rolling into Bakersfield, we were on the verge of heat stroke and couldn't take it anymore. I called Handleys and they diagnosed it, flushed the system and repaired it to full capacity within the hour. Thought I hit the jackpot here at Handleys. Bob was super nice with not charging me to look at my car and try to find the problem, he referred me to bobs muffler and they said I had a fuel trim issue and to take it back to Handleys. After dropping my car off he calls me the next day saying it's my upstream 02 sensor. I knew there was literally no work involved because the cover was already off of the 02 sensor so all he needed to do was take it off and put the new one on. A job I could have done in 10 min. I also already knew the price of an O2 sensor at AutoZone to go anywhere from $60-$130 so when I get to Handleys he tells me it's 250$ for the part and 150$ for the labor he literally charged me $415 to do like 10 minutes of work. I only have 300 on me because I did not think that it woulid cost that much. So I'm driving back home and not even five minutes later my check engine light comes on. so he literally charge me $415 or what? I decided to not even take my car back here because I could not even believe charge that much and not even fix the problem. I explained to him how I was ripped off by the person who sold me the car to just get ripped off again. Super disappointed and broke with an illegal car that can't pass smog. Many years ago, on a recommendation from a friend, I brought my older Plymouth to Bob for misc.repairs and since have never thought to bring it elsewhere. When the Plymouth was replaced with my current newer import car I didn't think Bob would want to work on it, but I was mistaken. This is the bestest place in town if you need your car, truck or etc worked on. He is the most honest man that I know. In fact the other day I had to take my van down and get a mirror put on for me. He took the door apart and took off the old mirrior and installled the new one and put everything back together just like new. I asked him how much. He said not Charge.
