Easter sunday. 11pm. Me and my friend get called weird and "too old" by the bouncer to the room…read morewhere the 18 + EDM show was ( not the outside bouncers) because we wanted to go into the 18 + EDM show. I am 31 and he is 29. What in the world? There was less than 15 people in the show and none of the people we talked to were even close to 18. I dont even have a full beard and there were bearded people In there. I guess the bouncer wants a new job or something. I like this bar alot but otherwise extremely bizzare. Me and my friend easily spent $100+ in there before hand. The manager with the longish hair and the goatee was abysmal about the situation and kicked us out? Guarantee we spent the most money in there tonight. Great work Seville. We are EDM artist in town wanting to check out the show and thats what the situation is? What, only 18 year olds allowed? The dude performing barley had hair. Please address this situation. Update** I spoke with one of the owners about the situation. They got back to me very quickly and the situation is being addressed. Incredible response from management they took this very seriously.

What I didn't like was having to "check in" and pay a cover at the entrance and get my hand stamped... this is fine for the youngsters, but at my age, I'm past this sort of mess and it was "telling" to me what kind of adventure we'd be into once inside. It's crazy loud in each room in this venue, so loud you couldn't really talk with those you were with. We even saw "youngsters" walk in, have the same difficulty and leave. I feel they could do a much better job with this place, but offering a great food menu which matched the themes of each room and by toning down the sound a little. Overall, it was 'meh' I'm not interested in returning.

Well I'm here in the area working for a few months. I love seeing what locals embrace. This little…read moretheater seems to be just that. I found this place by searching around the internet. It listed a comedy-magic show for $26 advance purchase (it's $30 at door). I paid at the door with a credit card...which then included a small processing fee. I don't know if the fee is waived with a cash payment. To the best of my knowledge, it was street parking only. This place also appeared to be ADA compliant and wheelchair accessible. Now there aren't mounted seats inside. It's more of an open floor arrangement which allows for seating changes as needed (with folding chairs). There's also an elevated seating area. There were no concessions that I noticed. So the show I saw featured Tom Coverly...a 90 minute comedy-magic act that involves audience participation. Although his show is themed around magic, I felt it was primarily comedy. There were lots of young kids and teenagers in the audience. Although comedy, his act was kid appropriate. Tom mentioned that proceeds from his performances go toward local support, but I can't recall specifically what it was...sorry. He also mentioned that the theater has other nights with standup comedians and that there'll also be some jazz nights. For me, his act was good and funny but not a gut buster. But your funny bone may break, so please be your own judge. So I definitely enjoyed the show and I'll probably catch other performances here during my lengthy stay.

This event venue is owned by a local church. Not certain if it ever has events that aren't…read morereligiously-themed, as the intarwebs are sparse with information about that. I recently attended a Christmas sing-along, because my friend is part of a choral group that was there. The church has done a fantastic job of renovating this almost century-old edifice. The foyer is bright and welcoming and the bathroom (the men's, at least) is exceptionally spotless and well-outfitted. The entire place was spotless, actually. There's a small stage in the back, floor seating, and then a tiered, elevated seating section to the back (which is towards the front of the building). The acoustics aren't audiophile approved, but I wasn't listening to Mozart, so the sound was just fine. In one of the front windows, there is displayed a circa-1930s film projector, which looks like it would require 3-4 highly-trained technicians to operate. If you are ever walking by the Rex, slow down and peep that thing. Lots of history in downtown Pensacola, and I applaud the church for reviving, improving, and maintaining a little part of it.
