Bam, he diagnoses me and starts listing 3 medicines and their side affects. I try to ask what they do, and he says "they do what they are supposed to do, google it." I start to cry because of his bluntness and lack of sympathy/explanation. The nurse just faces away from me and gives me a shot once i stop crying. I'm not angry with her, she just thought i was afraid of needles. What type of doctor tells you to google it? (Perhaps he didn't know himself) I quickly do as hes talking, and I am startled because the first descriptions talk about how one of the drugs is a dirty drug. This just encourages me to ignore my doctors advice, stop trying to get patients in an out, show some care in what you do. This isn't a timed test. You went to medical school, spent all that time working to get here, and for what?

A friend of mine had gone there previously and she said everyone was really super friendly and they were very efficient. From the moment I arrived, the front office (check in and check out) was extremely friendly. When I went into the examining room, the nurse and the doctor were attentive and also took their time with me. I didn't feel like I was being rushed or not listened to. They gave me a thorough exam and helped me with a few issues. I'm very pleased with this office and I would like to continue to go there on a yearly basis. I'm very happy there's another dermatologist on the southside I can go to, and that will also take my insurance. Thumbs way up all the way. ;o) !!!

My Experience with Hancock County Dermatology…read more I was referred to Hancock County Dermatology by my primary care physician for a full-body skin check and an evaluation of a specific area of concern. Based on the name, I believed this practice was affiliated with the Hancock Regional Health Network. I was unaware that it was not, and I feel the name can be misleading to patients who assume they are receiving care within the local network. Unfortunately, my experience was disappointing from start to finish. The customer service at the front desk was poor, and I never actually saw the doctor. The nurse took a quick look at the area I was concerned about and reassured me that it was nothing to worry about, which I appreciated. However, before leaving the room, she briefly examined a spot on my leg and froze it off. I later received a bill for $111. I never received the full-body skin examination that was requested. Additionally, the spot on my leg could have been treated at no cost through my Hancock employee program. To make matters worse, the bill did not arrive until months later, and even after I paid it, I received numerous calls requesting payment. Overall, I was disappointed with the lack of customer service, the limited examination, the unexpected charge, and the billing experience. I left without receiving the full service I had been referred for and with an unnecessary expense. Based on my personal experience, I would not recommend this practice.

They got me in within the week. They were very upfront that it would be cosmetic and not covered by my insurance. That's what I expected but totally appreciated the clarity and expectations before my appointment. Luckily the bump wasn't anything to worry about and they used cryotherapy to quickly freeze it off. The Nurse Practitioner was friendly and explained everything she was doing as she was doing it. They let me know follow-up instructions and I was in and out super quick.
