Hamster Lodge is an above and beyond pet boarding service that focuses on bunny, hamster boarding and home visits. Stella, who runs the show, is an absolute rockstar and is now a goto person whenever we need to leave town! To kindly share our experience and some of our highlights, to start: 1) Stella video chatted us prior to our trip, was sensitive to our routine for our bunnies 2) While away, she always informed us of her arrival and departure timing 3) Took plenty of cute photos 4) Brought fresh greens voluntarily daily (was tactful in sharing all salad green components ahead of time) 5) Made several cardboard toys 6) An incident occurred where one bunny jumped over her playpen and a kitchen cabinet panel was loose and fell off and for both, she helped reshape the playpen and put the panel back on respectively Hard to recommend her more. If you are a rabbit/small animal owner, you need to know about Stella and HamsterLodge! Stella cared for our bunny Flopsy (7 months old, male, very handsome) while my husband and I went on vacation overseas for 6 days, and I cannot recommend her enough. From the very start, she was so open, responsive and so organized- she quickly sent me a response after I reached out to her on her website, asking me about Flopsy, what I would need to provide for his stay with her (pellets, hay, toys... she provides litter box/food bowls/fresh veggies so super helpful,) and also asked for details about how his litterbox/area was set up in our house so she could mimic it so he would be more comfortable. Stella blew me away with her deep knowledge/experience with bunnies, and I knew Flopsy would be in good hands. During Flopsy's stay with her, she provided regular updates with pictures and videos about his antics/eating habits, etc- she even shared the unfolding drama taking place at the HamsterLodge where Flopsy fell in love with his fellow lodger! (It was just a vacation fling..) Of course, Stella took a lot of care to keep Flopsy and his first girlfriend separate (with no contact of course- else I would've ended up with some grandbunnies) I can't stress enough how nice it was to know that Flopsy was getting pampered during his stay. Stella is the best! She's taken care of my chinchilla multiple times over the past year, and she's just made everything so easy. Stella replies quickly and is SO easy to schedule/coordinate with. When taking care of my pet, there is regular communication with daily photos/videos! I always know when she's on her way to my apartment, tending to my chinchilla, and leaving my apartment. She cleans his cage thoroughly, refills his food and water, gives him dust baths (chinchilla showers), and lets him out of the cage to exercise each day. Judging from my chinchilla's behavior in the videos, I can tell he trusts her more and more each day that he's with her. Stella knows exactly what she's doing when it comes to taking care of pets, and I truly do not know how I'd be able to leave town without her! She's also been able to recommend multiple local exotic veterinarians (with notes on each!) and different ways to make my apartment safer for my chinchilla. Again, the best! read more

Highly recommend letting your rabbits stay here. Stella set up a shared google doc so I could see new photos and videos of my bunnies every day. One of my bunnies needed daily eye drops and Stella was not only able to accommodate, but she even showed me a great technique for applying the eye drops (my rabbit does not like the eye drops) when I came to pick them up. read more

Stella is amazing! I had a last minute emergency and needed my rabbit Stormy out of my apartment the next day, just for the day. I sent Stella an inquiry on her website and she responded within a few minutes! She sends you a lovely form to fill out that details your rabbit's habits, preferences, etc. I arrived the next morning and chatted with her for a bit before leaving Stormy- she was so kind, and gave me great tips for a bunny owner in the city, as I just moved here. She even sent me a list of recommended exotic veterinarians that are good with bunnies later on in the day! Stormy was set up with his hay from home, a lovely little salad, and his favorite toys. She sent me updates throughout the day, including pictures, and followed up with me the next day as well to see how he was doing! My wife and I took an extended vacation in Japan. Stella was absolutely amazing sitting our hamster. Even with the time difference she was fantastic sending photos and videos of our little guy to show he was also enjoying his vacation time. From the first time she held him we could see he was immediately comfortable being around her. She also gave us great tips on how to care for our hamster before and after the trip. Stella has been taking care of our rabbit, Lucky, since we moved into the city. We are so happy to have someone to both make house calls and board him when we are out of town. Her and her team always take the absolute best care of him, going above and beyond to make sure he is happy and healthy while we are away. I needed a back up pet sitter in a pinch and Stella of HamsterLodge was better than I could've imagined! She was extremely communicative throughout the booking process and answered all my questions and even hopped on a zoom call with me. Within a few days she had prepared a cage and bought gifts for my bunny. She took careful consideration to make sure the cage was arranged similar to my at-home set up. During my vacation she sent me daily videos and updates about my bunny, fed fresh vegetables, and cleaned the litter box. We used Hamster Lodge while away and it was a great experience! We have two free-roaming rabbits so we opted to do house visits. Before leaving, we did a walkthrough of our place and Stella provided some awesome tips on how to better care for our bunnies. While away, Stella sent us pictures and updates of our rabbits and they really took a liking to her.
