The other conundrum was missing the location. I got out of work early and was very much intent on visiting so I drove very slowly looking for it and I still missed it. So watch carefully and put your turn signal on early. I'm so glad that I finally made it here. The amount of beautifully crafted fine art on display astounds me. There are so many pieces in here but it does not feel overwhelming or cluttered in this multi-level gallery. The art is varied, so many different mediums and subject matters. The art is stunning, beautifully curated; I'm in awe of the skill of these amazing artists and disappointed that I haven't come sooner. What did I miss on display 6 months ago? A year ago? After an inquiry, the lovely lady at the front desk informs me that the items on display partially turn over about every three months, and after 6 months pretty much everything is new. I'm really excited to see what will be here later this year. I appreciate Deborah taking the time to chat with me twice, upstairs she gave me a little background on an artist whose work I was admiring (Jordan) and downstairs chatting about my background and my desire to be more creative and do more art. If you are an appreciator of fine art come in and peruse. If you are looking for a beautiful piece for your home, office or for a gift come prepared to buy. Pieces most liked from visit#1: Turtle Sea, Finnesse, and this lost wax cast bronze woman/angel on a rotating base (she's on display twice because she can be cast with or without wings).

The bold…read morecolors and lines of the abstract, surreal, impressionistic and realistic paintings jumped out at me and I had to go into the store and look at more. Like most local and fine art, the Lin Lin Gallery showcases some pricey pieces, but in my opinion, totally worth it if you are in the market for some truly unique and wholly inspired pieces. The artist namesake and main contributor, Mr. Lin, is the genius behind many of these breath taking pieces. If you're a contemporary art lover or even an artist, this gallery will make you drool with desire and longing. In addition to the abstract and artsy, the Lin Lin Gallery also offers portrait painting in a variety of styles to bring your bland portrait to creative life. Mr. Lin and other artists also offer year around art courses for very reasonable rates, meaning this gallery not only showcases local artists but also supports their development. Two thumbs up from me!

Why is it that I always find myself looking for a framing place? I think I have an addiction to…read moregetting everything custom framed. But I just can't help myself! They're so purtiful. The last time I got something framed I took it to a place in Virginia Beach. They did fine, but the drive was just way too long. That was of course before I realized the full potential of Yelp. Now, I just punched it into my phone and voila here I am at Harbor Gallery that was just 2 min drive from my place. Some people say they come here for the art. Sure they do have a decent collection but it's small! You come here for the frames and their framing expertise. I required three large portraits to be framed within a week which was not very much time however they accommodated my schedule without any extra cost. While custom framing is expensive, I found them to be reasonable. They did an excellent job and really the whole transaction was hassle free. They have a resident dog and 2 resident cats so just fyi when you walk into the store. I do recommend them for your framing needs!

The history I learned by viewing his and other artist work is unexplainable and unbelievable.....the work is so passionate, accurate and will have you leaving with a sense of love for are that you have never experienced before. This non-profit gallery was opened to help the people of Bangladesh receive help and funding through the expression of art. The community has helped her keep this gallery a float by doing a total remodel of the place. They've broke down walls and made the place more open and suitable for the gallery. She has begun to hold art classes every Wednesday. The classes are open for many local artist to come bring their creativity and for those wanting to get a better understanding and introductory to art. The place still needs a little more work to be done to get to bring art awareness. Perhaps 3/5 stars as far as presentation. But I'm in full support of raising art for a cause. It will be good to get this organization with full attention. I feel fine arts now a days has been lost with having technology. This is great for our local artist who are struggling and can get some recognition. It's nice to have local artist in the area come together and have their work on display. The gallery is beautiful and can't wait to try one of the classes.

I wasn't planning on really buying it, but as soon as I picked it up, I knew I had to bring it home. I strolled through the store and found Picasso and Miro lithos (I mean, wow!) and spoke with the owner, Brian, who is probably the most affable gentleman in all of Virginia Beach. He told me he knew very little information about the statue, but I paid the full price, since it was quite affordable to me. At the counter, we also met a repeat client of his, a quintessential southern lady with pearls who regaled us with delightful, and rather bawdy stories. I know my timing was right, but I found the gallery intriguing, well lit and stocked with gorgeous paintings. I'll be back next year.

Fortunately there were two very friendly women working and they were willing to engage with me so I was able to return home with a strand of pearls as a token from my trip. 1.) I am glad I was able to return. Some guests aren't able to do that. 2.) I am glad the "old guy" wasn't working. I wonder how many sales they have lost because he is "too busy".
