Sausage had a strange texture and flavour. Oatmeal was ok, though bland, if only because you could add walnuts, sugar, raisens, etc. Please provide yogurts with less sugar! I ended up buying some on my own. My only other complaint was that our bedroom backed to the elevator, which was an unusual noise to get used to. For the price and what we got, overall they did a good job.

Reservation mishandled, overbooking issues, and day of changed room rates…read more I've stayed at hundreds of Marriott properties over the years, and this was by far the worst service experience I have ever experienced. In short, avoid this property. The problems began even before my arrival. The day prior, the Director of Sales, Nalini Dube, contacted me and asked me to cancel my reservation in exchange for 5k points because the hotel was oversold. I had booked two rooms well in advance, so being asked to cancel rather than the hotel honoring the reservation was extremely frustrating and unprofessional. On the day of arrival, I arrived at 1 PM to check in and confirm both rooms in person. Kayra assured me that I still had both rooms and that I would receive a call once they were ready. That call never came. When I called at 5 PM to check the status, I was hung up on by Cassandra. When I finally checked in at 11 PM, I was told that only one room was available for my group of four. The front desk associate was polite, but it was clear he had no authority to fix the situation. Adding to the frustration, my room rate had been changed without explanation from $162 to $272. Two days later I received an email from the Director of Sales, Nalini Dube, offering a pathetic, 8k points in consolation, with no mention of the rate change. Note, a Saturday night stay at their location is 48k points. I also received an email from the General Manager, Rashel Davy, apologizing for any inconvenience and saying she hoped I would stay with them again. However, there was no offer of compensation, and when I replied to her message, I received no response at all. I opened a case with Marriott corporate on the night of the incident because the level of service and communication I experienced was unacceptable. I've never encountered such disorganization and lack of accountability at any Marriott property. Over 2 weeks later and the best Marriott Corporate has done is to have the rate lowered to the original one. I sincerely hope Marriott corporate and property management team make significant improvements.

Sooo... you would think that all of the times I have stayed here, by now I would have learned my…read morelesson. But alas, I am hard headed. This Double Tree is located on Sunrise Blvd in Sunrise Florida. It is right across the street from the Sawgrass Mills Mall which is in walking distance. Both rooms I reserved on the 8th floor were dated with a fair amount of wear and tear. Still the rooms were kept clean. Guest services here has been hit or miss in the past and this visit was no exception. I reserved two rooms and my room went without incident. I reserved both rooms for a two day stay. For some reason, they checked my guest out of their room and had them recheck in. No explanation was given and I only found this out after leaving the hotel when I received extra charges to my credit card. When I called the hotel, their remedy was to send me the invoices and have me figure out what charges were wrong. When I looked on the Hilton app where I reserved the rooms and paid, they had altered my reservation so at that point I had no idea what the original charges were. Since I don't work there, and I can't see what the original charges were, I have no idea how I am supposed to figure out how to make sense of any of the emails they sent. The person who I talked to on the phone was apologetic, but the remedy was not satisfactory. To make it worse, this is not the first time I have had a similar problem with this specific location. I would have given 1 star, but am giving 2 because I had had a problem before and didn't learn from my mistake. I promise I won't be making the same mistake again.

I come here to relax in their ultra modern lobby which hosts a Starbucks which is not known to many on the outside world, therefore, not crazy busy. They do offer a parking garage but I simply park next to the building by the Sam's Club and take a one minute walk to the main entrance. Sadly, the barista informed me that the Strawberry Refresher syrup for my cold drink is temporarily discontinued due to unforeseen circumstances - so mad. The lobby also offers a restaurant called Peyton's Place with a very good happy hour 5p - 7p $5 beers & wines.

The coffee machine in the lobby was a nice touch, and the pool area was clean and staffed. There is only one pool and a very small hot tub though, so it gets crowded quickly. The location is convenient. Weston Town Center is directly across the street with a Publix and several restaurants, although most were on the expensive side. There really isn't much nearby for nightlife. We eventually found Flanigan's toward the end of our trip and enjoyed the casual atmosphere, reasonable prices, and music. Unfortunately, the rooms themselves were disappointing. The entire Addison area had a strong old, musty smell -- almost like walking into an antique store. By the time we got home, all of our clothes and belongings smelled the same way. The decor and furnishings felt extremely outdated, like they hadn't been updated since the 1990s. Think "Golden Girls" style decor, but heavily worn from years of use. We had Units A and B. The king bed in Unit A was very hard and uncomfortable. The bed in Unit B was a full-size bed, not a queen as expected. The air conditioning seemed locked around 68 degrees and still felt warm at times. Thankfully we brought fans, which helped make it manageable. Then there's the timeshare presentation. We attended the advertised 90-minute sales pitch for the promised $175 incentive. The pricing started around $40,000 and eventually dropped to about $8,000 after repeatedly saying no. Maintenance fees were quoted around $1,400 per year, and ownership only guarantees one week per year at the same location and room type. Overall, the staff and location were the highlights, but the outdated and musty accommodations made it difficult to fully enjoy the stay.

I want to shoutout Elizabeth (supervisor?), who really went above and beyond. She helped cancel and rebook our room over the phone and arranged a complimentary upgrade for us as a Gold Elite member, and guaranteed a late checkout. She handled everything very seamlessly and made the whole process completely hassle free. Kelly was also very helpful in extending our stay for an extra day and allowing us to remain in the same room. My only complaint is that the hotel lacks a few basic amenities such as Q-tips, robes and slippers. Disappointing... Housekeeping also tends to come quite late in the afternoon, usually after 2 pm. Otherwise, everything was decent.

OK, so I ordered a Samuel Adam's bottle beer for $7.00. The lounge area surrounding the bar is classy and provides comfy seating for gatherings. There is an outside patio with a plethora of couches and tables for relaxing just a bit too humid tonight. We decided to take the elevator to the 8th floor event patio which overlooks the Fort Lauderdale and Sunrise skyline and allows an unobstructed view of the multi-colored illuminated Hard Rock Hotel. The current room prices are $189.00 and only five have balconies. The continental breakfast is $16.00. The fitness center is open 24 hours although there is not a pool on the property. This hotel provides a perfect location for international tourists on vacation.
