The good: Supremely friendly staff, the "bright spot" of our brief stay. The common/public areas are well-maintained and clean. The bad: Our room needed a serious updating and cleaning. If it's indicative of the whole hotel, then the whole hotel needs a serious updating and cleaning. Really, we try not to be "those people," but the room just felt worn and beat-up. In fairness, it's possible that management knows this and purposely don't rent this PARTICULAR room often, but the furniture was banged up, the carpet worn and stained, the trim and walls marked/dented. From a cleanliness/maintenance standpoint, in no particular order, we noted: - Actual cobwebs in the high corners, - A fine layer of dust and grime on the ice bucket, - Dust on the bed's headboard, - The room's door is warped... difficult to open or close properly without putting some weight behind it, and - Blue painter's tape around the bathroom door jamb-- looks like someone masked, painted, and then didn't bother to come back to remove the tape, long ago. The possibilities for the first three are that the room (room 108, if you're taking notes) sits vacant most of the time, or that the hotel hires only exceptionally short housekeeping staff and discourages them from turning on lights or looking up. The last two are just poor attention to detail. None of these are encouraging in the "totality of circumstances," since it makes us think management doesn't spend much time looking at or thinking about the most important feature of the hotel, the guest rooms. We both left with a "parting gift" of sinus issues after a night of low-level air conditioning use. Again, it's possible that this comes from the room sitting vacant and the AC/heat unit accumulating "stuff," but... not encouraging.

After I saw the chicken I go over the room and Im like naaah they hadnt dusted in here, vacuumed thoroughly or nothing. Because Im early; it was like 12:30 when I arrived but I had to use the restroom. After I used the restroom the young lady at the desk said the room was ready. I wasnt pressed but Im like ok cool. I can finish watching church and charge my phones get ready for work 2mrrw. Now I understand cutting corners sometimes but it look like they cut the corner, went up 2 blocks & made a left. This room clearly was not thoroughly clean. I would think the basics in housekeeping would at least be dust the tv, desk, drawer, phone & light fixtures. FIX IT BIG BROTHER JESUS. I decide Ill leave for a bit run to walmart get some food whatever so go by the desk ask them to go over the room again. I come back & its the same way i left it; i purposely did not indicate what needed to be done. But now i have all my bags w me + food I just stopped to get before returning. I go to use the bathroom again {DEFINITELY NOT SITTING ON THAT TOILET}. Something said to lift the seat up and bruuuhhhh Speaking of bathroom the hallway leading up to the room on the second floor smelled like 10 diaper genies. I gathered all my things and carried my butt on outta there. I couldnt even sit comfortably to eat my darn food. Im tired I been up all day I want to sleep but Im afraid if all this is dirty the bed n chair damn sure is too. Im in the lobby writing this while charging my phone a bit. I dont want to be difficult/problematic but this is just crazy. While im in the lobby area employees passing by I must be invisible or they are accustom to seeing ppl w bags n food sitting here lol. I don't know what my job was thinking or what they are used to but this NYC girl cannot deal with this. All I want is to sleep a bit, get a shower & relax Lord help ya child out puhleeezzzeeee. Edited* Jennifer at the front desk was much helpful. When I asked her for the wifi she asked what i was doin in the lobby & I told her she was understanding. Said its no bother; I shouldve called. She switched my room & even let me check it 1st. I feel better in here than i did in the 1st one. Only issue was no iron but fd brought one when i requested.

Maybe if they didn't do child care in the back room. They would have realized I needed help up…read morefront. I heard someone raise their voice and a child started crying, then someone came out to help me. I didn't have a problem with Bed bugs but there was people talking about them in their rooms during my stay.

Rooms fairly clean, though the industrial cleaner they use is kinda slimy and sticky. Daily housekeeping if you request it. Rooms fairly comfortable, though many of the electrical outlets are suspect and one actually blew up and sparked on me. Price a little steep, but I guess they can charge what they want due to limited options. Staff is pretty nice. But it still smells funky. I think it's the fabuloso cleaner, which is NOT fabulous.

The staff that checked me in...I fell in love with as they were guy w/the ponytail and small young lady offered their recommendation to the tavern across the street which I did walk over to that night after my nap. There was individual wrapped apples, guest if you were in dire need for a quick bite. This was a cordial inviting welcome when checking in. Of course, I took an Apple! 2. When I say I loved loved the room...I LOVED THE ROOM! I like a room you can walk into & you are not at the bed as soon as you walk in. And this is what I got here...room, room & more room. A clean fridge, microwave, bathroom was refreshing. Wasn't via found of the TV mode it took a minute for me to figure out. It took too many buttons pushes to select a station. Besides that & a dark large stain on the carpet, all else was fabulous! 3. I felt safe & got a great nights sleep! However now...I know what to ask for when I make my next reservation...downside was the next morning...I learned after being wakened out my sleep pretty early in the morning that...my room was across from the staff's laundry room or room that the cleaning staff went in to load up the carts. I'm not a morning person & was waken by constant banging every few minutes. Also, the pool was unfortunately not available for use. I mean come on Hilton it's summertime, we need pool access!!! If you knew that day I had & the transition s my hair went through so, trust me when I say...I deserved to swim a few laps! I paid and expected that I could take a swim & lounge into cone off my day trip into town. I finally got up to open the door & looked around...then a young lady came out to load up the towel cart and I gathered now where the banging noise was coming from...she was going in & out of the room across from my room and the door was closing on the door stopper she had put in the floor of the door to kept the door cracked. She looked, we caught eye & I mentioned to her I was wondering where the banging was coming from. Her response was, "Oh, my bad." I closed the door and that was that., Ohhh & I liked that the breakfast was included and when I say the breakfast was better than expected...it was great! Thought the individually wrapped avocado half's were a unique idea! I love avocado but, think when I travel...I'm going to pack me some scissors cause I could NOT for the life of me...get this plastic open so I could eat the avocado. Yes, next time I'm bring scissors & oh...Tanjin for their darn avocado. Overall, I do like this hotel and I strongly recommend this suite to stay if you're in town or looking for a 4 Star hotel.

The receptionist and her colleague were understanding and provided great customer service. The hotel was an excellent value for the price: The spacious room was clean. There were a micro-wave, fridge, coffee machine, dresser, and TV. Complimentary "Matrix" toiletries were in the bathroom. A free bright parking lot, breakfast with healthy options and also comfort foods, fitness room with a treadmill and a bicycle were provided. The receptionist offered me a free bag of goodies upon my arrival (a savory snack, Quaker cereal bar and water bottle). Free chocolate cookies were available at the reception. Please remember to join the Wydmann loyalty program to get points during your stay. The points of improvement were the free internet access and hair dryer in the room weren't working. If you're a light sleeper, be prepared to be awakened throughout the night. "Eine Kleine Bed-Musik" was eclipsed by the AC din. We finally unplugged it, but then even AC next door hissed and whined in muted tones. The top floor has Non-Smoking rooms, but don't book there unless you can handle the smell of smoke in the hall. It's pungent. The fitness "center" has a treadmill and a spinner that doesn't work. That's it. The word "center" is more spin than the machine. The pool is not heated. Don't assume. Paint was peeling off our bathroom walls BUT the room was clean and neat and the help was...well...as helpful as they could be considering the machinery they had to work with. I recommend a stay here if you remember that you get what you pay for. And if you want and can afford comfort, stay at AmericInn instead.
