Stayed in this hotel last week. Honestly, the cleanest area of the entire hotel was the staircase; even the elevator was disgusting. It is by far the dirtiest hotel i have ever stayed at as far I can remember! Had to use a shirt to put on my pillow; the pillowcase was yellow, the room was dirty, the thermostat was not even working and the tub had mildew around the tub. Let's not even talk about the stains on the walls and the carpet. The only positive was the front desk staff; she was nice and pleasant. But the hotel itself is a disaster. How can this be part of the Hilton is beyond me. read more

I booked a block with this hotel over a year from my wedding and had to go back and forth several times because they kept loosing my block information. This hotel is pretty old and unkept compared to other Hampton Inns I have stayed at. Sadly, this is one of the few hotels in the area. The bathroom tile could definitely be cleaner. I saw hair in the drains that I know wasn't mines. I went down for someone to clean, and they gave me the cleaning supplies to clean the bathroom. I stayed here for a week, but I don't want to come back. Shower shoes are a must at this place in and out of the shower. The one thing okay was the breakfast. It was decent. read more

I'm dropping the rating from 3 stars to 1 star. I think the owners must know they are the only game in town or they are involved with the the HIE and/or Home2Suites that are being built in town. This is without a doubt he worst Hampton Inn I've even stayed in. The tub is starting to flake off. The electric keys don't work all the time. The water heater broke my first night so there was no hot water when I woke up in the morning. As I sat in the common area having breakfast I heard another guest talking to the front desk about the hot water. The staff was very apologetic but there wasn't much else they did. I'd think a refund or points or something would be offered to someone that complained about no hot water for a morning shower. I went outside to load up for the day and when I tried to use the side door to come back in my room key wouldn't fit all the way into the key slot. I looked in and there was part of a room key broken and stuck in the slot. I mentioned it to the front desk and they said they would let the maintenance staff know. It seemed reassuring...well when I got back to the hotel about 12 hours later nothing had been done. The hot water was back on so maybe the maintenance staff was tied up with that all day but come on. Fixing those electric key locks is easy. It's a 5 minute fix with a screwdriver. I hope either the HIE or Home2Suites are open the next time I have to stay in Vidalia. read more

The good: Supremely friendly staff, the "bright spot" of our brief stay. The common/public areas are well-maintained and clean. The bad: Our room needed a serious updating and cleaning. If it's indicative of the whole hotel, then the whole hotel needs a serious updating and cleaning. Really, we try not to be "those people," but the room just felt worn and beat-up. In fairness, it's possible that management knows this and purposely don't rent this PARTICULAR room often, but the furniture was banged up, the carpet worn and stained, the trim and walls marked/dented. From a cleanliness/maintenance standpoint, in no particular order, we noted: - Actual cobwebs in the high corners, - A fine layer of dust and grime on the ice bucket, - Dust on the bed's headboard, - The room's door is warped... difficult to open or close properly without putting some weight behind it, and - Blue painter's tape around the bathroom door jamb-- looks like someone masked, painted, and then didn't bother to come back to remove the tape, long ago. The possibilities for the first three are that the room (room 108, if you're taking notes) sits vacant most of the time, or that the hotel hires only exceptionally short housekeeping staff and discourages them from turning on lights or looking up. The last two are just poor attention to detail. None of these are encouraging in the "totality of circumstances," since it makes us think management doesn't spend much time looking at or thinking about the most important feature of the hotel, the guest rooms. We both left with a "parting gift" of sinus issues after a night of low-level air conditioning use. Again, it's possible that this comes from the room sitting vacant and the AC/heat unit accumulating "stuff," but... not encouraging. read more

This hotel is disgusting, not following Covid guidelines and do not even have cleaning product in the gym. This location is an embarrassment to the brand and "management" is immature. The "trainer" of the new associate is too busy on her cell phone to help out and make sure the other associate knows what she is doing. You need to completely flip the team at this hotel. read more

I have been back and forth about staying in this hotel for months. I always pass through here during my travels. I know several Hampton Inn's have been updated and remodeled and because there are no current or up to date reviews on this one, I have been iffy about it. I decided to stay here for the first time. Walking in, it was really nice. Nicely remodeled, clean, greeted as soon as I walked in the door, etc. I wish I had gotten the associates name because she was very friendly as well and gave me water + a snack. Entering my room... my key thing was broken so getting into the room was a struggle. Compared to other Hampton Inn's I have stayed in, this one was just "ok." I expected more. It looks like a mix between remodeled but keeping the old things and old look in there as well. I can't say I was pleased. This is just decor though. The room was pretty clean... I've just been in cleaner rooms and better rooms and nicer rooms. After laying down on the sheets... a gnat began flying around and from that moment, I decided I'm not coming back to stay here. The beds are not comfortable either! I was disappointed in that as well. I'm writing this before going to bed and honestly can't wait to wake up in the morning and leave. If someone is just passing through, this hotel might be ok. I just expected more. The decor and fixtures need to be cleaned and updated. read more

The most expensive and the poorest condition of any Hampton I have stayed in.First room smelled badly. Moved us to one better. Currently staying here because of a group gathering. Will not be coming back. First the contactless check in wouldn't allow us to check in. Finally got into our "recently renovated" room and the paint smell was so strong. Now feels like our clothes have the smell on them. Toilet was not cleaned, shower doors were cloudy and not cleaned. The shower doors are so small that it is hard to get into the shower. Only 2 towels, 2 wash cloths and 1 hand towel. No plugs around the bed for phones which I use for my clock/alarm clock and no other clocks in the room. Holes in the night stand where it looks like the plug should be. Haven't had breakfast yet and not looking forward to facing that in the morning. Will update as the weekend goes. read more

This particular Hampton looked good from the outside but was a odiferous mess on the inside...sticky floors, ant infestation and an overwhelming moldy smell. We left and drove an hour and a half to another motel. The upside: the staff was very kind and understanding. This particular Hampton is an outlier for sure. read more

The hotel staff is amazing. We arrived after midnight and the front desk agent was exceptional. He already had our keys made and ready to go. He took very little time getting us checked in and said he knew we would likely be tired upon arrival. He offered us water and/or snacks. He explained that we were not able to get a double room but was kind enough to get us a roll away bed for my son. The room was nice and clean. Met expectations for a Hampton Inn. They had a nice size refirgerator and microwave. They had a nice breakfast spread in the morning. Every employee that I passed was very pleasant and offered a smile and greeting. They had a nice afternoon touch with the Fresh Baked cookies in the lobbie. My son loved it! Overall, I was very impressed with this hotel! read more

Working in an industry that every so often has last minute cancelations due to unforseen circumstances I have never ever had a problem canceling early in the morning of my stay. This is acrossed multiple states and Hilton locations. This location in which my company brings business monthly insisted on charging me a late cancelation fee. First time in 5 years as a Hilton diamond member staying at Hilton hotels. Its obvious that the owners and GM are focused on the quick buck and not long term customer loyalty. Hope my cancelation charge and $100 was worth thousands of dollars to your business because you just lost a companys business. I would not recommend staying at this location. Felicia Wilson, the manager there is HORRIBLE and her customer service was less than horrible. Switched me and my mother two times and each room had issues. Did not honor the 100% satisfaction guarantee either! Rooms looked like someone had tried to break in with a screwdriver at one point; not to mention the cleanliness was horrible. I reported them to the Georgia BBB. Instead of Felicia working to resolve the issues, she told me because I received the friends and family rate, I wasn't supposed to even complete a survey. She then said she was going to report that and then threatened privileges to be taken away from the person who let me reserve the rate. Ridiculous!! Stay away! read more

To start with the positive the hotel staff is friendly which is a positive and the rooms are clean which is always a positive. Now for the areas of improvement the hotel is the only decent hotel in the area so they have you kinda trapped. My personal room rate including tax for four nights was 711.36 which is a bit excessive given the area. Let's be honest here Vidalia, GA is a nice town but not a top tourist destination. The owners know they are the only game in town an charge based on this fact. In my opinion, paying for a premium should get you some minimal upgrades like usable WiFi that allows streaming capabilities! (1.91 MBPS download and 2.47 MBPS upload) For Pete's Sake the local fast food restaurant has better WiFi. As a Diamond Member with Hilton who travels significantly for business I do expect certain level professionalism. I called the hotel two weeks in advance seeing they were booked for one of my two weeks of travel to see about using my Diamond Level room guarantee and I was told the manager would give me a call. I noticed one of my weeks was booked but not the other so I called back and asked to have a manger call again and still no call back. As my travel to the area was approaching I looked on the website and noticed a room was available so I grabbed the room personally. I am now staying in the hotel and I have yet to hear from the hotel manager. I am sorry to say this but this is not how a business should be ran. Fortunately, the business owners still got my business because of lack of choices in the area but if given the choice I would have chosen another hotel even if it was not a Hilton Property if it had an interior corridor. If you do not mind exterior corridor hotels there are other options that you might want to look into after doing more research. Personally, I might stay in Dublin or Statesboro on any future visits to the area until the new hotel is built. With that said, I will search property records to see if it has the same owners to see if changes get implemented. Recommendations for the hotel: Update: Furniture within the rooms and increased TV size to a current standard. Encourage management to work on following up with patrons. Reward current staff for their welcoming demeanor. read more

I would give one star but the young lady who I think is the manager was very nice. Checked in and found human hair and a pubic hair in my bed. They moved me to another room but it took about 45 mins sitting. I get to my new room and the remote control didn't work and my WiFi also didn't work so I picked up the room phone which the cord wasn't plugged in and it didn't work even when I plugged it back in. At least my ac worked great as it's been unseasonably hot and muggy. Some people in my work group didn't have a good working AC unfortunately. If Hilton is reading they need to put a little more TLC into this location. I'm a Marriott person but my company booked this spot for a work trip. read more

It's been 2 years since I've written a review, but I'm revitalizing my account solely to review this hotel. My brother got married in Vidalia recently, and my mother booked a block of rooms at this hotel back in the early spring to ensure the family could all stay in the same place. My parents arrived first, just ahead of Hurricane Matthew and along with all of the evacuees from the Coast that fled him. From day 1, the staff of this hotel was AMAZING. They worked with my mother to get us rooms close together and accessible for the elderly grandparents. The staff was friendly, even through the frustrations of dealing with people who were upset about the hotel being sold out, not getting the bed setup they wanted, emotional over being evacuated, or any other number of reasons people can come up with to curse out hotel staff. The housekeeping staff went out of their way to ensure that we were taken care of, that rooms were ready when we arrived, and to work around sleeping babies and strange wedding schedules and last minute adjustments when airports were closed. The front desk and maintenance staff went out of their way to make sure that we were taken care of. In particular shout outs to Becky, Wendy, and Shari who went out of their way for us, dealt with all sorts of poor treatment by other customers, but still had smiles on their faces every time I saw them. The primary reasons this hotel gets 4 stars instead of 5 are due to shortfalls in the infrastructure. The elevators are broken, apparently for at least 6 weeks now, and according to the staff the ownership has shown no real interest in getting them fixed. The card readers on the doors are starting to go, requiring us to regularly have to get new keys and it always taking multiple tries for the keys to work. While we had no issues with our AC, several members of my family did. The way the sinks are installed in the bathrooms makes it seem like they're about to fall out. All of these are pretty easy fixes, but they require action from higher than the staff level, and they are sources of frustration for them. If I ever have any reason to go back to Vidalia, I would not hesitate to stay at this hotel again. Well, I might hesitate if there are no open first floor rooms and the elevators are still broken. But overall, we were very happy with our stay. read more

They announce that they have HBO, and that's not true, they always tell you is coming up, but think they never going to have it. It sucks, the aircondition/ heaters are old and they don't work correctly. It's by far the worst Hampton inn in my life. Plus the billing situation sucks too. This is the worst hotel in Georgia. I TRIED to stay there but could not. After I got into my room I noticed hair all over the bathroom floor. I then checked the sheets and there were several black hairs in the sheets. The young girl at the front desk pays more attention to her cell phone than the customer. I reserved a room 3 weeks in advance of my travel. When I arrived at the hotel, they told me they didn't have any rooms and moved me to a nasty local hotel. The crazy thing is my colleagues who booked their rooms 1 to 4 days before our trip got a room. I called corporate to complain and they did nothing to rectify the problem. Please don't stay there. They have bad customer service at the hotel and in the corporate office. Shame on Hampton Inn and Hilton Corporate. BTW the lobby smelled like a public restroom. read more

We frequently stay at Hampton Inn, clean comfortable rooms, reasonable rates, and, free breakfast. The Hampton Inn in Vidalia was exceptional. We checked in late and exhausted from a very long drive (850 miles). The clerk who checed us in must have seen it in our faces: he provived water bottles and a snack. The next morning we went to the free breakfast... it was the delicious! Eggs that tasted like eggs, lots of crispy bacon, and home fried potatoes. I had the make your own waffle with all the fixins'. There was a large selection of bagels, muffins, english muffins, and muffins as well as fresh fruit. Kathy (who was in charge of making breakfast) worked nonstop to ensure there was plenty of everything and that all the guests requests were filled. I can't say enough good things about the accommodations, helpfulness of the staff, and the breakfast. We will definitely stop by here again! read more
