We enjoyed all of our trips to Ottawa primarily due to the accommodations offered by this incredible couple. Breakfast was always top-notch and the bedrooms were consistently comfortable. There's plenty of room around the house and property for relaxing. The hosts are as available as you need them to be and amenable to any requests. It's an adorable Colonial style house that was built in 1898. It was Designed by George Washburn. You'll find a statue of him downtown. The original hardwood floors are still in immaculate shape and not a speck of dust seen. There are lots of stained glass and beveled windows. They have 3 rooms upstairs on the second floor for rent. One has a private bath and the other two share a bath. It has a spacious shower with a raindrop faucet and optional hand held. They have goat milk shampoo, soap, and lotion. It was a nice touch. The family lives on the third floor. The sponsors served breakfast at 9 am with scrambled eggs, banana nut muffin, bacon, fruit, option of yogurt, and coffee, water, and the option of juice. More than enough. FYI. There is a house with a very similar appearance to the pictures one block before you get here, also on the corner. The B&B has a sign on the front porch.

They are recognizable anywhere and consistently presents a good product at an affordable price. Prices at any Days Inn can range from $55-$65 per night (without taxes and fees) on average, which is an nice number and definitely can be the difference between making the budget and breaking it. I arrived here from Overland Park, KS and stayed here for 2 nights. It was the last weekend in October 2017 and my friend and I stayed here on a Friday and Saturday, checked out Sunday. Ottawa, Kansas is a cute little town that's situated about 45 minutes from Olathe and this Super 8 hotel fits in perfectly with the landscape. I arrived here around 6pm after an afternoon of travel down I-35 and picking up packets for an ultra marathon trail event that's happening nearby at Celebration Hall (Start/finish line). For me, this stay was the highlight of my vacation, since my legs were trashed from all the marathons and half marathons done already. While it was nice to be here in Ottawa, KS, it was the tail end of my 3 week long trip in October 2017, which made me sad that I had to leave. As is life. The overall experience here for two nights at this particular Days Inn hotel property - Ottawa, KS was pretty nice, cozy, average, but yet good, decidedly fun with a friend and was chilly for the weekend - at least before 8am. The comfort of the room was normal and standard. I did enjoy the complimentary continental breakfast, which was basically omlettes in individual plastic bags, which you had to self serve yourself and microwave it. Plus, there was a nice waffle maker and cereal and yogurt for those who love that. They are located at 2209 South Princeton Road here in the heart of Ottawa, Ks. Like many hotel chains across the USA, they accept major credit cards and a driver's license for identification check. For this visit, I happen to pay for my stay upon arrival versus paying when you book. It's a good service provided by hotels.com. The parking here option here is good, since they offer private parking for guests. For the most part though, the stay here at Days Inn here in Ottawa Kansas was short, averagely comfortable, and sweet. Got a good night's rest on Friday night, got up, and ran 50km (31.4 miles) on the Prairie Spirit Trail, limped back to the Days Inn, ate, slept, and checked out on Sunday morning. Drove back to Overland Park and called it a successful weekend in Ottawa. Nothing too bad but that's pretty much what the weekend shaped up to be. It was one of those hotels that you are glad to see on your travels, especially in a small town in Kansas. The check in and out service was basic but friendly. If I ever would return here, which now in hindsight, not likely, I would consider staying here again, just because of the Days Inn hotel brand and what it means to me. Branding is so important to me, when it comes to selecting hotels. Plus the price is always nice here. 4.0 stars for the overall experience. I get it though, the hotel is dated and serves many clientele that usually is of moderate and below income groups.
