Hampton Inn Hilton Head, SC Reservation: The reservation process was so easy, I used the concierge with Hilton Honors and he did everything. Check-in: Check-in was seamless, showed my I.D. and left a card on record for incidental which too my surprise was only $10 a day... was expecting $100-150. Facility: The facility amenities gym, outdoor pool, business center and breakfast area are clean and orderly. Room: The Standard Room is a little small however there's a fridge, microwave, coffee maker. Room service is every other day. Customer Service: The receptionist at the front desk greeted us as we entered and approached her, she made eye contact and had a warm and welcoming smile. read more

I'm in town for my grandson's Marine Corps basic training graduation on Parris Island. I inadvertently left my graduation outfit in the dresser in the room where I stayed. I didn't realize it until I unpacked when I got to Parris Island. I immediately called the Hampton Inn front desk to ask if my son, who was still in Hilton Head but leaving at 4:00 a.m. in the morning to drive up to Parris Island himself, could stop in real quick tonight to get the items. The front desk clerk told me she wouldn't be able to find out if the clothing was there until 5:00 a.m. when the housekeeping crew comes in. I explained again that my son had to get on the road at 4:00. The gates at Parris Island open at 5:00 and he has to get a spot in a long line of families trying to get into the island. She would not budge. There's no one currently renting the room I was in. I begged her to let my son into the room, but she just kept repeating her mantra..."You'll have to wait until housekeeping comes in at 5:00." Not very good customer service! Wouldn't you think a hospitality business would bend over backwards to help a customer out. Such a simple request! I'm very very disappointed, and I will certainly NOT patronize Hampton Inn again. read more

Not a luxury resort but for being a Hampton Inn with a great price it is all you need for a comfortable, welcoming and safe place to stay. The room I received was clean, orderly and fairly spacious. There's a partial wall between the bed and the suite area. Having the fridge and microwave was convenient. The free wifi worked sporatically. I was a little concerned while booking at this hotel, since it is near the airport. However, when I realized that just one prop plane from USAirways comes infrequently during the day, I was confident that it wouldn't be noisy. Unfortunately, the noise issues were from the fact that the guest room walls were really thin. You could hear conversations easily. Plus you can hear doors slam during to the weight of the doors combined with the thin walls. The service was very good though. The concierge was polite and accommodating. I tried accessing the fitness room with my keycard, and when I told him about the problem, he immediately had someone come and fix the situation. I didn't get much from the complimentary breakfast (just some juice), but it looked pretty good. It was a nice touch to have coffee/tea and cookies throughout the day. I was in town for a wedding, so I didn't need to have the beach nearby. However, if you do need the sand, you might want to try somewhere else. read more

Ok so im here to work( nanny for vacationing family) so i didnt pay for room but i love it. Staff has been friendly, has all your basic amenities( pool,business center,and workout room). Bed was super comfy,wifi was speedy, and most importantly they had vegan options at the continental breakfast "buffet" like they actually offered almond milk! WARNING!!!! This place is dump. Looks like a place that rents by the hour. Some guests look suspiciously homeless. The room smelled, the room was dirty. Tiles were cracked and ceiling was peeling. The coffee maker was dusty! Purchased through Hilton Grand Vacation who admitted to receiving prior complaints but did nothing to help move us to a different property. Exactly what you would expect at Hampton inn. Arrived 15 minutes early but they still let us check-in. They also gave us a map & showed us the good beaches to go to. Location is convenient to most everything. The cleaning staff was ready to go at 8am with most rooms being cleaned by 3pm. The pool area was small but nice. Breakfast is what you typically get at Hampton inn and the staff was friendly. But there were only 2 floors, one elevator & very long hallways. read more

I'm giving this Hampton 4 stars because it is super-good for this level of motel. It does not pretend to compete with the resorts on the island and deserves 5 stars for these reasons: 1) the day we checked in, the elevator was out of order. There was a nice sign explaining this to customers as they checked in. My husband has mobility issues and we needed a 1st floor room. No problem. 2) I was cranky at first because at check-in we were told that there was no daily housekeeping. We could ask for towels, soaps etc and they would be delivered until 5pm, After that we would need to walk to the desk. No trash emptying? No bed making? No removal of used towels? Cranky me. However...... we simply tied the trash bags and put them outside the door. And the housekeepers were around everyday doing terminal cleanings so we could hand them used towels or get clean ones. No problem. 3) Around 5am on our last morning, the rain was coming down outside in torrents. The HHI airport is adjacent to the motel property and water gushed into the swimming pool and overwhelmed the sewer system for the first floor toilets. The water in our toilet rose to an alarming level. We were informed of the issue and advised that we could get a key to an unused room/toilet on the second floor as necessary. A group of plumber types were at the hotel by 8am (or earlier....I wasn't in the hall to see). Everyone wanted to be helpful. One plumber came in to "plunge" our toilet to get the water level down. Management showed appropriate concern and without us asking, REIMBURSED US FOR TWO NIGHTS of our 3 night stay! 4) the breakfasts are excellent. Hot food varies by the day. Waffles, eggs, frittata, home fries, sausage patties, links, bagels, muffins, bananas, apples, etc etc. I am a tea drinker and they had a great selection of Bigelow teas yay! 5) the bedding is comfortable. 6) only negatives: We heard (forever and ever) a child running above our heads all day and evening until s/he finally went to sleep. And, the air conditioner was really loud.... although it did tend to drown out people talking next door or in the hall. HAHA read more

Why in all the reviews has NO ONE mentioned that this hotel is on an air strip. Really at 6:50am. First plane and I thought it was in my room. Its September so not to many planes, but could you imagine summer. I noticed it last night and asked if this was a problem in the mornings, her answer, "we have never had a complaint about the planes" WHAT, there is no way I believe this after this morning's "alarm clock". Pretty middle of the road for a Hampton Inn, without anything to really distinguish it from any other I've stayed in. This Hampton Inn is next to the island's small airport and right off of Highway 278, so it's very convenient. It's not in the league of the resort hotels on the island, and it's nowhere near the ocean...but, it costs a lot less than staying at the resort/golf hotels. My one complaint about this hotel is the thin walls/heavy doors combination. The doors to the rooms were heavy and would slam loudly if you weren't careful. Any time someone's door shut on our floor, it felt like the whole building was shaking. If you're a light sleeper like me, it gets pretty irritating. read more

I stayed here shortly after the hurricane. The 1st floor had some damage but they were doing a good job at cleaning it up. The front desk man I talked to was super nice and accommodating. The room was a standard king size room. The decor was beachy chic I would say. The breakfast area much have received some damage because breakfast was set up on folding tables with table cloths. They did a good job at accommodating guests. The breakfast was standard for a Hampton Inn. The reason for the low review is the noise. There wasn't street noise or anything like that, it was internal noise. The walls between the rooms are so thin. I could hear the neighbors tv the whole time it was on. The 1st morning I was there the neighbors alarm went off and it happened to be Train- Hey, soul sister. So I listened to that for a good 5 minutes at 6 am. The room was also very hot so I turned on the A/C but it was super loud that I couldn't sleep. I eventually turned it off and slept on top of the blankets. I was 3 rooms from the elevator and could hear the dinging constantly. Overall the noise ruined this place for me, I had such a hard time sleeping. read more

Room was acceptable. We were overcharged for our last night there. Manager, Erin Kronenberg, agreed we were overcharged. She attempted to correct it but ended up charging us a second time for the entire stay. Took some time to correct that - but the original overcharge was not corrected. She attempted to correct again but ended up charging us the overcharge again. Finally got the second overcharge removed but the original overcharge is still there. This was my first time visiting the Hilton Head area. I noticed that everything had the same themed look to it. With that being said I'm assuming that's the reason everything keeps a low profile, and nothing seems new. This hotel was exactly that, not new, and in my opinion long overdue for a remodel. My room had the toilet and shower in one room, and then the bathroom sink was basically as soon as you walked through the door to come into the room itself. I just wasn't very impressed with the property compared to the many other Hilton properties I have stayed at that were in less desirable places, unlike HH. read more

One of the best Hampton Inns we have ever stayed in. The room was extremely spacious, the staff was friendly and helpful and the breakfast was fresh and delicious. With one exception, they should move the waffle station to a separate area to avoid overcrowding in such a small space. Minutes from the beach and everything else is close by! Very nice hotel. It is currently under some renovations at this time inside. As most reviewers pointed out there is breakfast in the mornings and it is very good. This is your typical Hampton Inn, clean and simple. Todd at the front desk was awesome with suggestions for restaurants and beach areas for our kids. The walls don't block the noise from the next room very well. That was a little annoying. The pool was clean and warm. read more

Terrible place. The people at the desk were never helpful when I called in advance and when I arrived. There are signs everywhere saying that the sheets were "clean and fresh. " The fact that they have those signs at all indicates that they've received enough complaints to warrant it, which is troubling. Indeed, my sheets reeked of broccoli farts. The air conditioning and fridge are both incredibly loud. This is terrible value for the money and I will never stay there again. read more

This hotel has at least 5 roaches. In my opinion, that is entirely too many. The side door was jammed or broken and we were basically told there was a "trick" to it. The front desk was understaffed and apathetic. Luckily, we were able to find a room in Savannah late on a Friday night. I don't really expect a lot from a Hampton Inn but, bugs are a deal breaker. I don't love posting negative reviews, but if it saves a family or individual from trying to find a room on a Friday night in hurry, I will do it. read more

While we right next to the airport, the planes did not keep us up all night... just the a/c unit coming on and off that sounded like a jet engine. The refrigerator rattled when it turned on. It took FOREVER to get hot water to the shower. And as we packed we watched a cockroach crawl along the floor of our second story room. I booked a room at this Hotel through the Hampton Inn website for a buddies golf trip . 20 hours before I was supposed to check in I called to cancel as there was a tropical storm headed for Hilton Head on the day I was supposed to be there . The Manager wouldn't accept my cancellation as it was under 24 hours . I then contacted the Hampton Inn Corporate Headquarters to explain my situation and they also declined my request . The reservation was for a Tuesday night and there were plenty of rooms still available right up until my check in time . So my advice is to never book with the Hampton In. Or any of their affiliates as they are very lacking in their customer service . I would give them 0 stars but that's not allowed . Tell all your family and friends to stay far away from this establishment. Ps , it rained all day the day I was supposed to be there . read more

Ok, so it's not the most luxurious or modern hotel , and it's far from the beach, but the staff is great and the breakfast is pretty great. HI needs to definitely update their rooms though. The sink outside of the bathroom is weird, and the bathrooms are far too small. But I do love the little things like popcorn, and coffee, as well as getting toiletries at the front since I forgot some of mine. Our trips are usually just on the weekend to visit my great aunt who lives on the island so we usually aren't accessing beaches but it is very convenient to shops and dining. The beds are comfy and renovations were done within the last year and we enjoy the continental breakfast so it's one less meal to eat out for! read more

So my husband got an employee rate meaning we paid less cause he works at an affiliated hotel. We've stayed at many Hampton inn. I'm very disappointed with the quality of service. The agents were rude and the roach in my room really didn't help. Hair in the shower that did not belong to me. I have red hair, it was black ... We called and informed that there was roaches and the lady moved our room to the furthest room on the other side of the hotel . I was displeased with the rooms. The housekeeper didn't know any English and my husband had a hard time communicating. Luckily I knew spanish, if not we'd be screwed. Upon day of checkout At 10 am someone banged on our door and then came in saying " oh you're still here?" I proceeded to say something smart but my husband took over and said they told him checkout was at 11am the lady left but left the lock on the door to access the room. We had a reservation on Parris Island but changed our lodging plans because it clean. The Hampton Inn saved our dashed week-end vacation plans! They provided us with a nice room, for a nice price (especially because it was last minute with no reservations)! ALL the staff were friendly, helpful and genuinely pleasant! A special THANK YOU to 2 reception specialists, Megan and Bee!! The food was hot, plentiful and with a great variety! There is a small outdoor pool but who needs the pool when you can go to the many nearby beautiful beaches! The hotel is very centrally located to everything! Unfortunately this Hampton Inn stay earns only 3 stars due to the "crawly guests". My daughter saw a roach on the wall in the hallway and I discovered and baby lizard in the bathroom...scared the @#$%! out of me! We usually love staying at the Hampton Inn and I won't give up on Hampton because of this. This location however did not meet our usual high expectations of cleanliness and comfort because after the baby lizard incident each trip to the bathroom was full on alert with riot gear in attack mode! LOL! But seriously I do expect better of the Hampton. read more
