Dulles cascades Hampton Inn

Housekeeping needs to improve more cleanliness and sanitation in each room. The pool area is dirty and needs a massive cleaning and the flooring is horrible. Affordable prices but needs more staffing sanitation

This was one of the most disappointing and disgusting hotels we have ever stayed in. Our room was unfit for visitors. We are Hilton diamond members and we were treated terribly. From the moment we arrived it was clear. I'll let pictures speak for themselves. We were promptly and discourteously ignored by management the entire time we were there - we witnessed rudeness to other guests from a variety of rotating staff members. I rarely leave reviews like this so heed caution and stay far away.

11/13/21 While waiting for my guests, I got the privilege of seeing the inner workings of the guest area. The guest area is in high demand and some kind of card game is going on. Coffee for the serious drinkers and hot water for tea time,...or hot chocolate. Since I am not a coffee or tea drinker, (not much of one) hot chocolate....no!...Swiss Hot Chocolate will have to do. The front desk guy I met was not the most helpful, but he wasn't rude. Kinda reminds me of Dante Hicks from the movie Clerks. The snack bar by the front desk is calling my name. Mainly because I am hungry and thirsty, the options I see are more appealing. I will use the rest room and if my guests aren't ready, i might just get something to drink. Well I just found out what time my passangers leaving. I think it's safe to say I have time.

Dresser? The large one is the fridge. No other drawers besides the bedside table.

My room was weird smelling. The shower looked kind of gross (attached picture). The tv kept cutting in and out of sound. They initially gave me the wrong room number with my room key. When I got the new room number from the front desk after going back to the lobby, the associate said "Call me from the hall phone if these don't work." The microwave platform doesn't fit the actual microwave. There was no dresser, just 2 small drawers beneath the microwave. Highly not recommended. The staff was overall nice, but I felt gross staying here.

Nasty sick left behind.

Friendly staff. Comfortable beds but they put one so close to the wall that it was difficult getting on and off. There are no usb ports near the beds and only on the desk. The pillows seemed worn but useable. Definitely not the quality pillows I'm used to in Hilton chains. Breakfast was meh. It was a hot breakfast with disgusting sausages, cheese omelet, and half raw potatoes. They had some fruit and pastries as well as oatmeal and waffles. Sadly there were people blowing their noses in the line and enough to make you not want to eat. There was staff constantly attending to the hot area. There was also someone cleaning the floors. Not an ideal thing to see but atleast they're trying to be clean. They have coffee and hot water for tea available all day. Parking is ample but we warned that there are a lot of quick turns. There's nothing in the area and it's quiet with very little traffic. I was there on Sunday so the strip area was closed and a majority of the businesses haven't opened yet. It's a great value though so I didn't hate it The cons; it was clean but i found an nasty old sock on the floor by the couch. The digital key kept sticking and I got shocked every time I went near the front door. So did the other party staying with me. Would I go back? Sure. It was reasonably priced and close enough to where we needed to be and accessible to the main highways. There are better Hilton options but this was decent.

Then it goes on to say pick.up on demand. Keep in mind i didnt get this email until.after i booked and paid

This hotel is listed in the parkway parking app as an option to park. I selected this hotel based on its shuttle service to and from Dulles airport. Part of booking this parking selection is stating what time you are leaving and returning. I was leaving at 5 am at returning at 1am so those are the times I selected. The system allowed me to book. I had no problem with departing at 5am but when i returned and called I was told by the hotel the shuttle runs between 6am and 1030pm. I had to catch an uber back to my car which cost the same amount as parking in their lot. When i contacted management they offered to pay for my uber and give me HH points they just had to run a few things up the chain. Today i get an email that i should have checked their website. Why would i check their website when i booked through another party. I was then directed that the email i received states their hours. I received this email after booking, the hours arent stated in a matter of fact manner and the hours that are stated arent correct because I got a ride at 5am and it states shuttle service starts at 6am. I am very dissapointed in this management for not taking responsibility for their part in this miscommunication and pointing fingers. The system should reject your booking if you choose hours the shuttle isnt available. The staff should notify you the shuttle wont be available What was the point of me selecting what time i would be arriving and departing. I will try and attach the instructions I was suppose to determine shuttle hours so you can see how unclear they are

Dead little black bugs and hair at the base of the tub when I checked in room.

I just got in from a long flight and wanted to shower amd relax. When I got in the room it was very hot so I went to adjust the a/c but it didn't work so I had to go up to the front desk to get the maintenance man to fix it. Thinking everything was fine after he had fixed it I went to take a relaxing bath but was horrified to see dead little black bugs at the base of the tub and hair from the previous person who stayed in the room. I was really disappointed because these Hilton CLEAN STAY guarantee stickers are always on the doors when the room wasn't even properly cleaned, not sure if I'll stay at this location again.

Waiting to checkout today, the Pekes posed for photos for some of the Hampton Inn staff.

Tony and I enjoyed our $34 bar/restaurant credit because we are Diamond Hilton Honor members. Lots of parking! Great friendly staff! The bartender was so friendly and helpful. Because roads were packed with snow and ice, driving was not really that safe for a couple days. That meant some workers were unable to get to work. Short staffed, the hotel did the best they could. On the heavy snow night, the kitchen never opened...so I had no choice but to pay the hefty snack bar prices. The parking lot was fairly deep with snow as well...getting into or out of a space was work, unless some had just left. There are lots of stores and restaurants nearby. When the roads open, it was nice to finally have a jot meal again. Now I've stayed at Doubletree Hotels that were much, much nicer than this one. But overall, this place was fine. For Diamond members, they have a social hour with free appetizers and couple of drinks (beer or wine). No objections to staying here again if the price is reasonable.

They made us feel so at home and were extremely kind and friendly; everything they did was with a smile. Saturday morning was very busy, but no problem with Odir and Delia running the show. Their warm welcome whenever we entered the lobby each morning was so heartfelt and genuine --like I said, I'd come back solely for how welcomed these two made us feel. I had the breakfast bowl and the breakfast sandwich twice and think that's a real winner. Our breakfast was complimentary with the room, and the coffee was pretty decent, too. All staff at this location were nothing short of welcoming and friendly. They all worked hard and had great attitudes, so just because the room is a little outdated and the AC unit sounded like it was ready to take off, I'm going to round my 4.5/5 down. There's a free airport shuttle to Dulles airport; it runs from 7am to 10pm, every half an hour, on the hour and :30. You have to make a reservation for it, so be sure to call at least an hour beforehand, or do it when you check in.

The chai latte I got was great, the breakfast bowl on the other hand was terrible. Soggy & flavorless, it went straight to the trash. I'll start with the staff, they go out of their way to make you feel welcomed and make it a point to say Good Morning, Good Afternoon and Good Evening, who else does that?? All the staff members are stars, but some just stand out more than others. Rene who picked my team and I from the airport almost daily, Fatima who is the QUEEN of problem solving and was always ready, willing and able to help with whatever issues came up. Antoine who was always ready to talk about sports and current events. Julie who was always happy and smiling no matter how early or late it was and was always available to drive us to the airport regardless of how early it was. The three ladies in charge of the breakfast on the daily were always AMAZING!! They were always happy, welcoming and very accommodating. Paz was always smiling, happy and ready to refill the breakfast area, Gloria was always warm and welcoming and eager to ask about our day and what we had planned. I'm getting on with age and unfortunately I cannot remember the name of the third lady that was always there in the breakfast area, but she was fantastic, she was always smiling, welcoming and ready to help. Remy was another staff member that was always helpful, and welcoming. I also want to mention that Naomi was always helpful, and very warm and welcoming.

Located only 5 miles away from Dulles International Airport, the hotel was especially convenient for my trip. I really liked how it's located within Dulles 28 Centre, so there was plenty nearby. It's just steps away from Chase Bank, Target, Old Navy and several restaurants. My suite was on the second floor, conveniently located right by the elevator. The size of my suite was just right with a mini kitchen, small living room with work area and a king sized bed. I liked the overall layout and found the room comfortable, although there were a couple housekeeping oversights. When I arrived, I noticed there wasn't any shampoo in the bathroom, and the bottle of lotion provided was already about half empty. One of the perks staying here is there is free breakfast included. Breakfast on weekdays starts at 6am and ends at 10am. The breakfast spread when I was there had scrambled eggs, egg whites, sausage and a rotating selection of breakfast sandwiches or breakfast burritos. There also was a variety of muffins, bagels and other breads, along with a waffle station. For drinks, they offered hot coffee, hot chocolate, tea and several juices. I found the breakfast to be decent and convenient, although compared with some of the other hotels, I stayed at, their selection of hot foods was more limited. The hotel itself had a decent sized lobby, a mini shop stocked for snacks and essentials, a fitness center, a putting green and outdoor patio area. Another convenient amenity was the hotel shuttle. While the shuttle was primarily for the airport it could also be used to get to other locations within a 5 mile radius. Overall, I thought the Residence Inn was a comfortable and practical place to stay. The room was spacious enough for my needs, the included breakfast was convenient, and the hotel had some nice amenities.

This has become one of my go-to hotels when staying in Loudoun. There's plenty of parking here and easy exit access. As for the room, you have a typical Hyatt Place layout of a sofa bed, desk, mini-fridge area, bed, and a bathroom. What separates the rooms at this Hyatt Place from the others is the cleanliness of the furniture and surfaces and lack of wear/tear. Not to mention the bed; soft and balanced where I get an amazing night's sleep. Something you don't take for granted in your 40's! The breakfast is good for a chain hotel. Don't expect gourmet; but solid good breakfast eats that are well-presented. Out of the 4 major hotel chains, Hyatt probably has the best complimentary breakfast of them all. I was not aware they offer a shuttle service to Dulles Airport so I will consider this next time in lieu of a car rental. As for price, it's pretty favorable if you're a Hyatt member for what you get. Or you can use points at roughly 5,000 points/night; not too shabby!

Check-in was easy as well as check out. Front desk staff were friendly and accommodating. The gentleman at the front desk was kind and cordial noticing it was my birthday at check-in and wished me a Happy Birthday which was nice. If you're a Bonvoy Marriott Member they provide you with two complimentary bottles of water upon check-in. I forgot to ask for a late check out when I checked in. But the front desk lady that answered my phone call while we were out on our 3rd night stay kindly prepped our keys and arranged for a late check out for us as a Bonvoy Marriott member ( as long as availability permitted). I like Springhill suites because they are very spacious, have complimentary breakfast and parking. This specific hotel seemed to be overall in good condition. However, make sure to check that your room's plumbing is in working order prior to settling in. We usually do,but we were in a rush to make our dinner reservations. When we returned to take a shower, half the water was still coming out the tub faucet as well as the shower head with the knob pulled up. My sister was able to tweak it so there was a 1/4 water coming out of the tub faucet. We notified the front desk, however we couldn't switch rooms because they were all booked with a convention or large group booked. They did offer to send the plumber/engineer to take a look. Unfortunately, they didn't have the part in stock to fix it. The engineer/plumber offered to come back on Friday to fix it when the part would most likely arrive since it needed to be fixed anyway, but we declined to not interrupt our stay. Overall, the room was clean, however the night stand was bit on the beat up side. Not a big deal, but would have been nice to have been updated. The more crucial furniture was updated such as the pull out sofa which looked rather new as detected by the condition of the pull out sofa bed which the mattress looked pretty clean and new. The downside, was not having daily room cleaning which isn't uncommon nowadays due to low staffing. However, it would have been nice to have housekeeping empty the trash out on the daily. The hotel is located in an industrial type area but close to a lot of activities and restaurants. Frying pan farm is only a 9 minute drive and is free! I recommend checking it out! It's about a 30 minute drive from Tysons Corner, and Great Falls Park and not too far from Ballston Quarter.

There's a few hotels in the area that allow you to go full residential but I can tell you with a thousand percent certainty this is the only one that's not garbage. Yes, there's people outside on the weekends enjoying the atmosphere playing music and having a few libations. I don't know how anyone can get offended at this this makes it a real home like feel. Who the heck wants to stare at four hotel walls for the duration of their stay? The customer service here is incredible but if you build a rapport with these people it's even better. They went from a smoking hotel to a non-smoking hotel and there's still quite a few knuckleheads in the area that don't get the hint. So yes, when you check in there can be up to a $200 deposit. If you don't put any kind of smoke in your lungs I would suggest bringing that up during check-in it may help you with the cost of the deposit. You got to understand that if somebody smokes in a non-smoking room that room cannot be sold for a couple of days they have to leave the windows open to air it out and possibly even repaint the room That little $200 deposit might cover the paint. It's not going to cover the Lost revenue of the room or paying someone to clean the room deeply or any of the other inconveniences that smoking in a non-smoking room causes. Unfortunately I'm still a smoker but I also understand that there are other people that don't. I have absolutely no issue going outside and neither should anyone else. In fact, if they know you're a smoker they'll try to put you in a room on the first floor so it's not that far to get outside to smoke a cigarette. Overall this place feels like home.
