They make lovely sandwiches but its the cakes that are the real draw. They have so many on offer you won't be able to choose just one. We bake 6 days a week to amke sure the bread is as fresh as possible. All made using traditional methods and sour dough used in the white bread. We roast our own meat three times a week and chicken daily for the sandwches. We try and keep up to date with trends and do make declicious macroons and whoopie pies now. The thing is I have a weakness for vanilla slices, you know the ones with pastry and custard in the middle like a sandwich? Well they are my obsession. It is pretty bad. So whenever I have a craving which is basically every weekend, I have to go here and get me a vanilla slice. But then I come out with a box of different cakes as well as my slice and a sandwich possibly a pie and a drink! A whole meal deal. Let me tell you another thing about this place. It is so cheap. When I went the other weekend, it was a case of cakes, pies for two and it came to £3.00. For me that is seriously cheap, when I have Mr Greedy to cater for. Everything here is homemade from the bread to the pastry. I love this place so much it is that popular they have two shops. They sell cake tins, ribbons, cake toppings, food colourings and icing etc. They also actually make cakes to order and they have a catalogue of cakes from which you can order or you can suggest ideas of your own which they will try to adapt for you. They can even scan a photo of your choice and make this into rice paper to put on your cake. Excellent customer service - good advice given. Open roughly school hours to suit the owner - if you are aware of this, then you can plan you visit accordingly. You can park for free on the main road outside.

I shouldn't have to make an excuse to go here - It's excellent. The ground floor is their outstanding chocolate and cake shop - definitely worth spending some time here tasting and choosing what they have on offer. Their selection of over 40 celebration cakes on display are stunning - you'll find yourself staring at them like some sort of art. A few of the wedding cakes are pushing £1,000.. asking if it would be worth it? For me, yes! Their cakes are amazing - no wonder Wayne Rooney bought his wedding cake from here and had it shipped to Italy. You'll find me with my face pressed up against the viewing window where you can watch the cake decorators working hard to perfect these masterpieces *drool* I'm certainly not planning my wedding or anything but I already know that there's a massive possibility that my cake will be from here. On the first floor is an elegant restaurant serving breakfast, lunch, afternoon tea, and of course CAKE. The menu is fab and I haven't heard anybody mention a bad word about it. I have yet to visit the restaurant and I hear that unless you book weeks in advance you've no chance of getting in, but this only makes me want to try it even more and it is certainly on my list. Their buns and cakes are gorgeous - the best Vanilla Slice in the world! It does tend to get very busy at lunchtime, but it's a big shop and they have plenty of staff, so waiting time isn't usually too bad. Possibly a little expensive compared to some, but the quality is excellent, so it is good value for money.

It is perfect to get something if you are on the run and need a quick cheap meal. The staff are courteous and friendly, although the queues can get a little big at lunchtimes. You sometimes have to time it right, because if you go to early the hot pies might not be ready. After 11 am they seem to have a good supply of everything. I would definitely recommend this shop.
