I liked the fact the this was a local company and reached out to her to get a quote. I had been with my insurance company for many years but figured it wouldn't hurt to compare rates. I was immediately impressed with her customer service skills and when her quote was cheaper with better coverage I made the switch. Suzanne asked if I would be open to having her compare rates for our auto and RV insurance and since I like saving money of course I said yes. Suzanne once again came through with better rates and coverage and we switched all of our vehicles over to Capital Gate Insurance. I then took it upon myself to ask Suzanne for a homeowners quote and she hit it out of the park on that one too! I would like to add that I have never met Suzanne Oliver before this but I am obviously thrilled I made the initial decision to reach out to her. As a business owner I can really appreciate her work ethic and positive attitude she brings to her job. Do yourself a favor and let Suzanne Oliver of Capital Gate Insurance have a shot at your business .     Let me count the ways Geico screwed me. 1. Refused to pull…read moreme out of a snow drift in February because I was in a parking lot. Told me to "wait until the snow melts." 2. Paid $20 for emergency gas, got one gallon. Ran out, nearly froze to death. Snotty bitch at customer service said "what do you want me to do about it?" 3. Falsely placed an at fault accident on my CLUE report, causing my insurance to TRIPLE. 4. Changed a claim to an accident to justify non-renewal 5. I never received the non-renewal notice, which was my fault. but the day my policy ended, they sent a deceptive and misleading letter telling me all of my policy options, leading me to believe I still had insurance. Their explanation? "That's a standard letter," as if that makes it ok. 6. My premium went from 200 to 700/month. INCOMPETENT APATHETIC SMUG DISHONEST SCAM

Multiple emails from a rep trying to set up a phone call, which I finally scheduled. Young rep I spoke to on the phone was enthusiastic and I spent a lot of time on the phone with him as he asked me many, many questions for each policy quote. At the end of it, he says my one car was flagged and GEICO is going to send me a form to fill out. My one car is a sports car (it's in my Yelp profile pic) and while it happens to have a roll cage in it, it's also registered for the street. OK, sure, I understand it may require further scrutiny - it's not your normal car. Well, the form comes and it is a rehash of all the questions I'd already answered - nothing in particular to focus on my sports car. It took me over an hour to fill out the ridiculously long form (had to be over 6 pages or more). I mailed it back and... nothing. No more calls from this local GEICO office, no response from GEICO corporate, nothing. I'd been ghosted by them. If GEICO doesn't want to insure this vehicle, just come out and tell me. I'm a retiree - I can handle it. Don't waste my time with this form only to never contact me again. The emails, the phone calls - they all stopped. After I got no response I figured out they just wanted me to go away, and were hoping their form would scare me off, but weren't able to tell me up front and avoid wasting my time. Went with a local independent agency who represents a NY-based underwriter, so my premiums are actually employing fellow NYers and I'm saving similar money as I would if GEICO deigned to pretend I exist. I like that. And, we discussed my sports car and I was offered advice on how to have it insured. Professional - the way I would expect to be treated. GEICO could learn something from this independent agency.
