Absolutely HORRIBLE! Got here on a Friday night to meet up for dinner and a drink. Looked promising until the DJ arrived and BLEW our ear drums out. No conversation happened - just screaming and a lot of "what?". Half this volume and everyone would be able to feel the vibe and still be able to talk. Ordered a cheese and pepperoni pizza at 9:50pm - at 11:07 I asked for our bill and the response our server gave was, "so you don't want your pizza?" No - an hour of waiting we definitely don't. Her reply was there was an issue getting the oven to temperature. Why did we not get told this 15 minutes after ordering so we could have the option to choose something else. Not her fault about the oven but it is definitely her fault for not informing us and providing good service. We won't ever be back - this was the last poor experience with no more excuses for this particular location. read more

We have been here several times. The waitress is always quick and efficient. I have mixed reviews today. To start, I got the French onion soup. It was just ok this time. They burned the cheese on it ruining the soup. The burn taste was terrible I couldn't eat the cheese. There were other workers that ran the food out. I'm kinda baffled beftween who made it and who gave it to me dared to give that to a customer. How did that pass quality check? The antipasto salad was decent. Staff is so friendly which is a standard at every Hamlin pub I've ever been. They accommodate me and my family of 2 young kids very well. Their happy hour is one of the best deals in town!! My family and I stopped in Sunday night for a late dinner. We got there around 8pm and the place was pretty dead, especially since the Lions game ended soon before. We snagged a table, ordered our drinks and food in a quick time. The door was open and a cold breeze blew throughout the restaurant. We asked a waitress if we could close the door but she said it was open for a reason so we simply moved tables. Took about 45 minutes to get our food but I will say it was pretty tasty when we finally got it! I got the pub sliders. Fresh buns, lots of flavor in the meat. Served with crispy fries, cheese, pickles and onions. My sister had the corned beef sliders, which I never heard of before and they tasted just like St. Pattys Day. Corned beef was lean and not fatty at all. Service at this point was non existent. No refills, took forever to get the bill. Took even longer to get my debit card back. Waitresses just stood in the corner talking and texting on their phones. Great bar atmosphere. Karaoke on Sunday nights, lots of TVs and pool tables for your enjoyment. This is a nice place to enjoy a meal and a brew - it's a pub, after all. Family friendly, I saw kids in there, altho they probably kick out any kids remaining after 9pm. They have a few TVs to watch your favorite sports. They have outdoor seating, but it was too hot the day I visited, so nobody was sitting outside anyway. I had a trainee as my server and she did a decent job. The only detractor was she goofed up my change, but it all worked out because I subtracted it from the tip I left (not much - just change). The Chesterfield location needs workers who do not yell at their customers. I was picking up an order and nobody wanted to help me even though 3 of them were standing there gossiping. One finally helped me but made it seem like i was bothering them. I paid online and then she accused me of not paying for it and gave me a hard time because she didn't want to "bother" the bartender. They have high and low top seating and the service is always very good. The menu is standard bar fair with some pizazz for example their Guinness steak salad is delicious, they have a good stew in the winter and the burgers are also delicious. Our most recent trip to the Hamlin Pub was for my birthday. We opted for the pizza and loved it. This was our third or fourth time there. We've had pizza and burgers and weren't disappointed. Since it was my birthday, we shared a large Sundae (which was nice of the waitress) and enjoyed it after our pizza. My parents took my brother and I out for pizza on a Wednesday evening, where pizza is 1/2 off! I was fairly impressed with the inside of this bar. Very large, roomy, fair amount of televisions for games and seemed pretty clean. Brother said their Killians on tap was gross and that's why they lost a star. Service was fantastic, didn't have to ask for refills on my Pepsi & plates were cleared very shortly after setting them off to the side. Their pizza was awesome. I liked their sauce, the amount of mozzarella & toppings were far from skimpy. And the pizza came out shockingly fast. The crust was soft but had a nice crisp to the bottom of it. Also Bloody Mary - I ordered one made with Stoli - it was bland, not great. No hot sauce and just 2 olives. Being from WI where all places load up a Bloody Mary with pickles, celery, celery seed, not sauce, olives etc (they are LOADED with stuff + a beer chaser) I felt jipped. There is a picture of a Bloody Mary in the menu with all the fixins (less beer shot, which they don't seem to do here in MI) so I asked. You have to request that one special. So I ordered it - price was about the same, but it SUCKED! I can't stand pickle juice in a Bloody Mary. Just put a pickle IN it! This pickle juice thing seems to be another MI thang. And the hot sauce was in the outside if the rim of the glass. Dumb. It's not a margarita people - it's a Bloody Mary - that shit goes IN the drink. Fail. read more

Today was my last meal at Hamlin Pub. I used to love this place but the last few times there the food was not very good, the service was slllloooooowwww and the follow up was poor. The chicken dumpling stew is more like a scoop of masked potatoes. It is no longer creamy or stew like at all. We sat with a direct line of site to the kitchen where we watched our order sit for 12 minutes before having it brought to our table. I had the fish and chips. Lots of batter soggy fries and not a lot of flavor. The tartar sauce was the best I had in a long time but not good enough to save the meal. My husband ordered the mac and cheese. Not what we had expected at all. No creamy sauce only penne noodles with 4 different cheeses sprinkled and melted on top with a spattering of bread crumbs. Overall disappointing. Nothing worse than eating a meal and still being unsatisfied. The meal was so processed that we both still have a horrible after taste even though we ate over an hour ago. Waitress was nice, food was disgusting. Nachos taste like the entrance of Joann Fabrics smells, weird seasoning. Avocado "portobella" burger was brought to me missing the lettuce, tomato, and onions. To "fix" this, they took my burger from the table and brought back the same burger only it was now room temperature at best, and now had a tiny piece of lettuce, tomato, and onion under the bun. Our party order plain wings with several types of sauces to dip in for our appetizer. The wings were boneless and hot when they arrived. Next our pizza came and the crust had a great crunch; the pizza was excellent. I want to take note of the sausage on pizza lol, the sausage on the pizza was the right size in my opinion.
