Alike Trinity's student shop in House 6 in the wake of Front Arch the Trinity College Dublin Student Union also run the Hamilton Café located at the side of the Hamilton building at the back of campus to the side of The Pavillion public house.
Having both shops located at different ends of the campus means that students are able to purchase similar items without having to trek to one end exclusively. The goods on sale are very pertinent in terms of a student's life such as confectionary, crisps, hot (via the self-service tea and coffee machine) and cold drinks, newspapers, cigarettes, magazines, fresh croissants and doughnuts, mobile phone credit, personal hygiene products, sanitary products, stamps, postcards, envelopes and a limited amount of stationery.
Overall, in comparison to House 6's branch the shop is smaller and stocks a slighter range of goods, for example unlike its confederate in House 6 it lacks any Trinity merchandise that can also be found within the official Library shop such as hoodies's, mugs and pens laden with the Trinity crest. It is therefore a shop aimed towards providing students with their pedantic needs rather than trying to garner any commercial clientele in the form of tourists. It is handy however for providing you with those pernickety yet essential items when you are on a day's jaunt around college in a location on campus where no other shops lurk. read more
