Hubby and I judge a Vietnamese place by their Banh Mi and Pho, so that's what we ordered.
- Pho Bo - rice noodles with beef. The broth was sweet, it didn't have the complex flavors brought out when stock is cooked over a long period of time. It was definitely lacking. Noodles looked like the kind you find in a Thai restaurant.
- Banh Mi Heo (pork) - bun was not a toasted French baguette, no pate, veggies didn't have that nice crunch, no fresh cilantro nor sliced jalapeños. It wasn't a bad tasting sandwich, it just wasn't an authentic banh mi.
- Sua Chua Cafe - home made yogurt with coffee. I don't know what I was thinking when I ordered this odd mix of sour and bitter. I tried to balance it out with some syrup to sweeten it, but it didn't work. I guess it's an acquired taste?
Staff was friendly and attended to our needs, food comes out in a reasonable time, place is roomy and clean, but the aircon is weak. Still looking for a good pho place; but for a banh mi, I'll be going back to Banh Mi Ngon. read more
