I'm sharing this as a concerned parent. My daughter worked here but ultimately had to quit because management failed to make her feel safe, despite being aware of an ongoing abusive situation.
A coworker is in a relationship with an extremely unstable individual and has come to work physically beaten. Management allowed her to stay on-site rather than sending her home to recover, secluding her in an office, which created a toxic environment for other employees.
The woman was assaulted at Hallway Plumbing (Alpharetta location) by her boyfriend/abuser on another occasion, and a no-trespass order was reportedly placed on him. Months later, while the couple was still together, he returned in a vehicle driven by a woman. Multiple employees saw him, management (Crystal) was informed, yet the police were not called, leaving staff vulnerable.
He then attempted to get both the coworker and my daughter fired by sending voice recordings of them on the phone to the company. The coworker returned to him two days later, showing no remorse, only asking for help in a way that compromised my daughter's safety. As a result, my daughter backed away from helping her further.
According to the coworker, an older employee told her she was "safe" and that he would protect her if her boyfriend tried to assault her in front of him, implying he had a gun and would not hesitate to use it. This is not a responsible way to handle workplace safety. Expecting employees to manage this kind of extreme situation, when not everyone is armed, is dangerous and unacceptable.
While my daughter worked there, the coworker gave her abuser our home address and my phone number, putting both of us at risk. He harassed my daughter via social media months prior and recently contacted me directly, despite me never having met or spoken to him. I filed a police report and was instructed to have no contact with either of them and to inform the company.
This abuser has a documented history of instability, including going to jail for assaulting his own mother, demonstrating the level of danger he poses.
With the coworker providing her abuser access to personal information, HR told my daughter she did not want to "choose" between her and the coworker. It is clear they prioritized favoritism over safety.
Staff remain exposed. The warehouse is open all day with no monitoring, there are no clear emergency procedures, and employees have no guidance on what to do if the abuser returns. Management demonstrated unwillingness to call the police even when the no-trespass order was violated.
Ultimately, my daughter resigned to protect herself. I have also filed a formal complaint with OSHA and the Department of Labor, as safety protocols were ignored, including the violation of the no-trespass order and failing to contact police when the abuser returned.
No parent should fear that their child could be harmed at work because management protects someone's feelings over employee safety. If you are considering employment here, know that protocols are ignored, staff are left vulnerable, and serious risks exist. I have reached out multiple times to upper management with no response. This is beyond my daughter now, my goal is to hold this company accountable if they continue to protect agitators instead of prioritizing the safety of all employees. This is not leadership; it is a savior complex toward favored employees at the expense of everyone else. read more
