This could also be just an awesome spot to generate ideas if you're an artsy person. My boyfriend and I had stopped here without knowing such a masquerade mecca existed, but it became clear pretty fast: Balloons, Etc. & The Costume Emporium has a high cool factor if you're open to whacky stuff and associated oddities. The staff member was also friendly and open to answering my questions. Because when you're in a place this curious, you're bound to be wondering a thing or two! Needless to say, my inner young kid spirit was on full display, much like the many masks presented across the store. I wish there were more treasures like this shop. They're in a much smaller location this year, maybe 3 or 4 decent sized animatronic figures set up. Everything's so crowded together with narrow aisles, so it's hard to focus on any one thing. Not enough room for people to moving around each other comfortably. They had a big cardboard ship outside the store front, in the mall aisle, but nothing on it! You know the music/sound system is too loud when my boyfriend (who has hearing loss in one ear) was complaining about the volume! Definitely going to shop online in lieu of in person if I do end up coming across anything I want.
