While most game stores strive to be called a FLGS - Friendly Local Game Store, this place is seriously lacking in the friendly department. Sure they have a good selection of board games, minis and RPGs. But I have been in that store 3 different times over the past two years and each time NO ONE has ever said "Hello' or "Can I help you?" Usually they were engaged in some conversation about Magic or what have you but the fact that they were so focused on talking with their regulars to even acknowledge a newcomer says a lot about the store owners. Mind you, I didn't just pop my head in and then leave, I was there for at least 15 minutes each time. If you cannot pull yourself out of your conversation to simply greet a customer then you care more about that conversation than new customers. Like I said, not real friendly. I hold out hope for the store and give it 2 stars if only for the fact that they also have a decent game room with 10 tables and a store collection of games to play. Still, a store that isn't interested in showing some customer service isn't going to last long. read more

Called to check on a few items in stock and to get prices, easy enough right? After clarifying they had one particular game, I proceeded to tell the man that it was a present and would most likely be stopping in to purchase ($100+) as I needed it quite soon. I casually asked if he knew of any games similar in style that weren't as costly, and the man flat out said, "I have customers waiting and don't have time to answer all your questions." I have worked retail and service for over 15 years, and would never say this to a potential purchaser, let alone a customer. I will never purchase anything from here. read more

A nice little store. It's a shame we don't live in a larger area that could help support a larger selection. However, Everyone is always nice and they are quick to welcome me when I enter the store. A nice selection of games and it looks like they have a growing miniature section which makes me excited because my husband is really into painting miniatures and it's nice to support local business instead of buying them all online. It has a comfortable atmosphere and it's fun to shop when you hear people playing games and enjoying themselves in the next room. read more

I walked into the store to play some locally scheduled Pathfinder events, as I was from out-of-town. I left a Pathfinder character folder in the store. I contacted him, and the store owner is shipping it back to me at no charge. Class Act! read more

Unlike Jim B., who must have caught the staff on bad day, I've never had anything but positive interactions with them at Games +1. My very first experience with the business was back in February. Not knowing their store hours, I showed up about 15 minutes before they were to open. I was welcomed in and shown around. When the owner arrived shortly after that, he took over and made me feel at home. I have returned several times since, making myriad purchases and even playing once in their game room with like-minded gamers. I have witnessed the staff get lost in conversation with a customer and not immediately address a different customer (maybe it was Jim B.?) but I've yet to see a person neglected to the point that they leave in frsutration. Unlike SOOOOO much of today's chattel-like retail workforce, pimply faced and lacking in any knowledge of, or interest in, what they're doing, these folks are gaming addicts, and I will cut them slack if they find themselves engaged in a conversation about their hobby. read more
