She could not reach orthopedics and she felt a neuro surgeon or orthopedic specialist needed to read the mri right away! Well I went to the ER and they tell me they don't have a neuro surgeon or orthopedic doctor to look at my mri more closely! They actually told me to DRIVE to Tufts in Boston myself!!! So how urgent is all this?? I had taken an Uber on the request of the NP who called me. She said in case they put a brace on your neck. They say they will transfer me to Tufts in Boston! I sat for 3 hours on an uncomfortable gurney with nothing stabilizing my neck. I finally gave up. I told them I'm not going to Tufts and I'll talk to my ortho in the morning. They aren't going to do a consult at 11PM at the hospital, which means they would have admitted me. Ortho calls me in the morning to tell me they are setting me up with a neuro surgeon and they will call with an appointment for me. So my trip to the ER was not needed. I would have been admitted for no reason. But I WAS dehydrated with a low potassium and I was told they don't give potassium nor did they have any soft neck braces. What kind of hospital is this?

They feel the need to heir unprofessional locals to fill some sort of dumb neighborhood Quota. The staff is lazy and often overreaches to cut some sort of clerical corner. It is now a directive of MGH for these people to push you to answer questions that are intended for your doctor. I dont want to talk to counter help or nurses for that matter about certain things. I guess that makes their job harder , so thet pressure you and nag till you tell them attitude included. Dont go for it. Say clearly " I dont wish to talk to you or anyone beside my doctor about it." This must come from the top and their bean counters to save a penny at the expense of your privacy Another problem is even bigger. The pressure placed on these unskilled idiots from MGH itself. There are questionares they want answered that have nothing to do with your physical health. They want to know your highest level of education . Thats invalid and frankly none of their business. You should Refuse to answer! That and other questions like if you own a firearm. Again not a valid question and NOT ANY OF THEIR BUSINESS! The depression screening is another thing handed down to these idiots by MGH They just want bad answers. With tricky invasive questions that cant be answered without triggering a red flag . So they can give you a referral to three mental health offices to get more money and prescribe more drugs so they can get even more money. not because they care! MGH has turned you the patient into a cottage industry. They then force their staff to get that information from you. I understand this comes from above but these office people will not take "No" for an answer. I am usually pestered till I lose my patience with them and snap a response like. "As an adult in charge of myself, I have made the conscious decision to not answer this questionaire ." These questions and many like them are to drum up business for other parts of the empire. These people again under pressure of MGH. Will go on to tell you whats best for you and continue to ask. At that point. I say. " I dont recall asking your opinion. You see what we have here is an employee employer relationship, and guess what? Youre the employee! Now are you going to back off or am I going to have to complain to your manager?" That usually puts them in thier place. Do not answer the question are! There are questions I had a terrible PCP Dr. Meredith Davis. Thankfully she left the practice. But seemed absentminded. Wrote terrible over detailed records of nonsequential things like if I had shaved or not. Again level of education, and other nonsense. Yesterday me to take the depression test. Then leaned on me to take psychotherap drugs and see a team of mental heath providers. All the expense of my physical health. There were issues ignored or disregarded. Yet still pushed for things I didn't want. She once informed me that a testicular examination was part of the physical. And acted like it was a inconvenience. Actually asked me if I wanted her to do it as if hoping I would say yeah dont do it. Now Im not there to be touched but if its part of the yearly physical it should be done. I said "yes" and she seemed disappointed. I was beyond thrilled that she left the practice. Sleep apnea is a medical issue and I had taken an at home sleep test many years ago. It was ruled that I had moderate obstructive sleep apnea. I told Dr. Davis that I'd be interested in doing something about it. I guess its not profitable to MGH because it was never adressed. Flash forward my new provider is much better and respectful to my boundaries. Is not a slave to the MGH operative. But also has all but ignored the sleep apnea thing. I told her I would do a home test. She scheduled an appointment with a neurologist that was 8 moths away and was going to cost me $650.00 after insurance. I promtly canceled the appointment and told them why. Without as much as a followup inquiry The issue was ignored till my next physical I told her about costs and asked her why cant you my pcp just order the sleep test cut out the middle man and save me a ton of money in the process. She said , yes we can do that. Then didn't. She did however order a ton of blood panels that even she said were not fully nessary . I asked if we could maybe skip the ones she thought were unnecessary. She said sure. I told her that last years physical cost me $850.00 after insurance. She said okay we really don't need this one , that one or that one. She eliminated them but guess what. The idiotic staff did them anyway and stuck me with another giant bill. And guess what wasn't ordered. The one thing I asked about. Sleep apnea test. MGH has clearly lost their way and cares about profits ahead of patients. Add to that an inept unprofessional lazy staff and things have gone off the rails.

The person who answered the phone spoke to me in a disrespectful manner. While I was trying to explain that I had not clearly heard what she said, she repeated the message in a frustrated and rude tone. I respectfully asked if she could please speak more gently. After that, she placed me on hold and did not return to the call. I tried calling again several times, but my calls were not answered. When I called from a different phone number, the call was immediately answered, which made me feel that my previous calls were being intentionally avoided. This experience was very disappointing. When someone calls the OB department, it is often during a very important and sensitive moment in their life. Many women calling may be pregnant, worried, or in need of support and clear information. I am sharing this feedback in the hope that it reaches the appropriate team. Working in a department that supports mothers and families is an important responsibility, and kindness, patience, and respect make a big difference in the experience of patients. I hope this message helps raise awareness about the importance of compassionate communication with patients.

The biggest issue was the L&D & Mother/Baby unit after delivery. My newborn and I were placed in a room that was only 68 degrees. We were told there were no other rooms available, the solution was to give us extra blankets. We had to wait approximately 36 hours before we were moved to a room with an appropriate temperature. Recovering from childbirth while trying to care for a newborn in a cold room was incredibly stressful. I was also shocked by the cleanliness of the hospital. The postpartum room did not appear clean when we arrived. During my stay, the trash was not emptied daily, and the floors were never mopped. For a labor and delivery unit caring for mothers and newborns, I expected much better sanitation. While a few staff members were kind, my overall experience in both Labor & Delivery and the Mother/Baby unit did not meet the standard I expected. One experience that has stayed with me involved the nurse who introduced herself as Lindsey. She attempted to place my IV before my C-section and was unsuccessful after five attempts between both of my arms. At that point, I politely asked if someone else could try. Instead of responding with understanding, she appeared upset, gave me attitude, and slammed an item before leaving the room. It was an incredibly vulnerable moment for me, and I was shocked by how I felt I was treated. Even if a procedure is difficult, patients deserve compassion and professionalism, especially during childbirth.

There is plenty of free parking in their parking lot, there is a receptionist on the first floor to give directions where to go or help with any other needs. Beth Israel's's Urgent Care is located on the second floor, there is an elevator a wheelchair if needed. The office suite is clearly marked urgent care, very important. If you are stressed or in a situation you don't want to have to second guess where to go. My doctor examined me thoroughly and had a medical assistant. My exam was quick. This is urgent care and being quick is a good thing. . I did not have to go to an emergency room for which could take hours maybe even days to be seen, especially at a non Beth Israel emergency room. Even then, taking up the space and time in an emergency room makes it difficult for those people that are really in crisis with a high need medical issue. If I needed an emergency room, BI Urgent Care would have sent me or made sure I got there safely. So this was the perfect option for me rather than waiting for an appointment after a minor car accident. Or emergency room. I'm very pleased with Beth Israel, as medical provider in all areas of care including surgeries. Hands down, the best option. Discharge/service note was giving to me at record speed and my medication was called in in the same manner. I've been coming for my primary care to this location for several years. Professional staff at the front desk make my visits run smooth. the doctor examined me, I felt confident in his ability to assess me. While I understand that healthcare…read moreenvironments can be demanding, I have observed a consistent pattern of conduct that significantly detracts from the patient experience. My interactions with the front desk personnel have frequently been characterized by an absence of warmth or professionalism. There appears to be a general lack of common courtesy and respect, which is particularly concerning given the sensitive nature of a behavioral health setting. Patients seeking care here may be grappling with anxiety, depression, or other significant challenges, and the demeanor of the initial point of contact can profoundly impact their comfort and willingness to engage with services. Beyond direct interactions, there have also been notable issues with professionalism in their presentation and communication. In-person, their appearance often lacks the expected standard for a healthcare environment. Furthermore, telephone interactions have been equally disheartening; calls are frequently met with an abrupt tone, impatience, and audible sighs when questions are posed, which is both off-putting and unprofessional. Such consistent behavior from the frontline staff not only creates an unwelcoming atmosphere but also undermines the trust and comfort patients need, potentially exacerbating their vulnerabilities. It is my sincere hope that these observations can lead to a re-evaluation of front desk protocols and staff training to ensure a more supportive, respectful, and professional environment for all individuals seeking care at the CBHC Malden Adult Psychiatry office.
