Of course I can't say whether the medical professionals are actually any better at their jobs (fighting cancer) than any other office in the city, I don't have that data. Protocols differ depending on the type of cancer and they seem to be fairly standard. However, the compassion and professionalism at IBCC is far above standard. Side effects are expected with chemo, and most of them are pretty bad. You'd think the nurses and doctors here would accept that as par for the course, but they don't. They are genuinely concerned and look for a resolution when a patient tells them about an adverse effect from their chemical cocktail. A fridge and shelves full of room temp or cold snacks and drinks, pillows and blankets for those that get chilly, a massage therapist making her way around the room giving patients foot rubs, and a palpable happiness radiating off the staff all makes the time spent at chemo easier than it would otherwise be. My mom has said it a few times, and you can tell others feel the same; chemo isn't something you want to go through, but going through it at IBCC almost makes it enjoyable.

Not only that, but to live minutes away from this location is a Godsend-- as I do NOT have to go to the main hospital for them to get the care they need. (Eek, I get the heebie-jeebies just thinking about navigating the parking and elevators.) Additionally, there is free parking at the IRL location. The staff is friendly here. The doctors are top notch. The building itself is well maintained and updated. I love the art throughout, as well. Absolutely no complaints. The fam popped in for flu shots and COVID boosters a few weeks ago (which I conveniently booked online via My Chart) and we got in with a minimal wait. The nurse was wonderful. Going to the doctor isn't always painless-- but this location helps make it more so.

I have had several health issues recently and needed to get on this right away. My best friend contacted her own physician, who happened to be Dr. Thomas and got me in for an appointment with no problem! My first visit was quick and straightforward. He got all the info he needed from me. They contacted my previous medical group and had my records sent to them and put in my referrals to all the specialists I needed to see. Dr. Thomas seems nice and caring towards his patients and the staff is very helpful and efficient. Since I have seen him twice now, I noticed that the office has done good follow through and makes good on their promises to take care of things! I can already feel that I can trust Dr. Thomas and his staff. This is the reason I decided to stay with Dr. Thomas as my Primary Care Physician. He is caring and he listens well! And he seems to be confident in getting to the root of a problem. If you are looking for a Family-doctor or a Primary-physician, I would recommend checking out Dr. Paul Thomas and staff at Center Point.
