I would advise others to carefully review and question the fees charged before using this law…read morefirm's services. My experience with attorney Will Underwood was very disappointing. I felt the amount requested for preparing a simple probate petition was excessive, and even the judge agreed the fee should be reduced. As a parent trying to protect my daughter's inheritance, it was upsetting to feel as though her estate was being depleted by unnecessary legal costs. Our original attorney, Kevin Childress, stated he was overloaded with cases and transferred us to Mr. Underwood. When I expressed concerns about the fees, it was implied that I was seeking free services, which was never the case. I simply wanted fair and reasonable representation. After receiving payment from my daughter's estate on two separate occasions, Mr. Underwood later chose to withdraw from representing us. Attempts to communicate directly were unsuccessful, and I was instead referred to another attorney, Danielle Woods. Overall, this experience left me feeling frustrated and taken advantage of. I hope others do their research carefully before retaining this firm's services.

The matter languished in his file for several months. I wrote and told him not to pursue the matter further and please refund the balance of the retainer. After several more months, he wrote with an itemized statement showing that he got very busy 10 days AFTER my letter told him to quit. His phantom tasks used all the retainer except $350, which he sent. I returned his $350 check and wrote that he owes me $1,850 for all the work he claims to have done AFTER my letter fired him. More months have gone by. The tasks he claims to have completed are fraudulent. Why after all that time would he suddenly get busy and do 5 hours of research? It's bogus! Lyndell Beard mishandled trust account funds.

It was money down the drain and very little change in judgement. not even a half fighting attempt was made after everything on our end that was asked of us was met and passed. There was plenty more he could have done and said in court and outside of it, but he didn't. In fact I think very little effort would have given a lot more justice to both sides even, but the effort was absolutely not there. It felt a lot less like he was a client representative and a lot more like a court appointed bare minimum public defender. Even a public defender would have done more, really. Extreme let down Involving a lot of lost time, money, and relationships. He was a middle man for information at best. Period.
