Clayton Park

We had a terrible experience with Clayton Park Veterinary Hospital in the summer of 2023. For…read morespending $2500.00, we: a) never got to speak in person with the vet who did the operation; b) were booked for a quick early morning checkup before we made the long trip home, but they "forgot" we had an appointment; c) they never called to check on how our animal was doing. What a joke this place is. Totally mismanaged. Left hand has no idea what the right hand is doing. Incompetent and rude staff. Would give zero stars if this were an option. Don't know how these grifters stay in business. This is a meat market veterinarian. STAY AWAY, for your pet's sake. Please!

I've come here for years with my dog, and always loved it here. They spayed my dog last December…read moreand were fantastic. I go monthly to get my dogs nails trimmed as I'm scared to do it myself and always trusted them. In June, they recommended I start working With her and trimming her nails myself, sent me info. I noticed in July my dog started suffering worse From arthritis so I call to get her looked at. They said they were too busy and sent me to a different vet, no problem. She then needed to go back to the vet once a week for 4 weeks. Naturally I call back to my go to vet- Clayton park. i leave a voicemail asking to book her in for her weekly shots and ask for a call back. Not returned. Ok. The new vet has been trying to get my dogs info, so I call Clayton park again and leave a voicemail asking for them to send over the info to the new vet and ask for them to call me back and confirm. No response. Ok. They call today saying she has had medication there (for anxiety for vet visits) and that I've yet to pick it up. I am not happy as I've been trying to get in contact with this vet for weeks and they refuse to return a phone call. Do not bother with this vet- they very clearly only care about selling you medication and care nothing about your pet considering they haven't asked once how my dog is.

Very disappointed in this facility. I had to have my beloved dog euthanized and it couldn't have…read morebeen more unprofessional. I had a waiting room wait of at least 20 minutes or more. Other locations will put you in a private room with your pet if you have to wait at all, I had to ask them when we could be seen. It was very noisy, chaotic and disorganized which was completely disrespectful; absolutely no privacy or regard for what we were going through. I had to chase down someone so I could pay the bill after the fact!! The vet was very nice is about the only good thing I can say. When asked when the remains would be back for me to pick up, I received three totally different answers resulting in me going to the crematorium myself to pick up the Urn since I couldn't get a straight answer and had a wait of 15 minutes on hold and still no one came back to take my call. I will never ever go back and I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND!

A few weeks ago I brought my 16-year-old cat in for treatment on his leg. Within minutes of…read moreentering the hospital, and after explaining three times what his issues were, once to the counter staff, once to the assistant, and once more to the "doctor", Yassar Hammid, the guy was recommending drugs, x-rays, and "pain" injections for his "dislocated leg". One pain injection he said was "less strong" and might not help at all, while the other more expensive injection was certainly stronger, but has a high probability of causing stomach and other organ issues... I feel I should mention that while I was considering the injections, Hammid exits the back room with a syringe already sticking out of the damn bottle! After weighing the choices, I decided not to get either injection. So there was Hammid pushing for an x-ray ($385+) with no guarantee they'd even be able to SEE the reason behind his injury, and because my little boy was "aggressive", he would need to be sedated ($160+)... Excuse me, but if some asshole was pressing down on my sore body parts, I would be pissed off too! And they don't even have payment plans! When I told Hammid to "BE EASY" after he pinned my boy's torso and his sore leg to the steal, towel-covered table, he brushed off my concern and demanded I "let him work"! Needless to say, I didn't stay a minute longer. I didn't even pay for the exam cost, because FUCK THEM!! They don't care about animals, only about how fat their wallets get. *** *** *** *** *** I took my baby, the next day, to our usual vet. A quick once over and his doctor -- a REAL doctor, I should add -- assured me his leg was not dislocated, only sprained. She treated him and within 30 minutes, we were on our way home. He's doing beautifully now hasn't had any issues since seeing her that day. *** *** *** *** *** I WOULD NOT recommend my worst friggen enemy to take their furbabies, scalebabies, featherbabies, or whateverbabies to 6331 Lady Hammond Veterinarian -- they are cruel, lying, abusive assholes!

Their compassion is endless, I've always gotten a simple and clear cut answer to my questions regarding my dogs needs. I first came to the clinic for my dog Snickers, he had cancer... Dr Robb was recommended to us through the PEI Veterinarian university. Every step of the way I felt confident with the treatment choices to ensure the best quality of life for Snickers. When it came time to let go, they were so loving toward Snickers and my family. Today we still have Ruth and Toby who visit the clinic for their check ups etc. even though Toby can be a little spicy, the area always so good to him :) and Ruthie acts like she's going to a friend's house, she loves it there! Thank you for everything you've done for my little family of dachshunds, we appreciate you all so very much. Chelsea

Dr. Ackerely has been Shadow's vet since he was a kitten (he Is 14 now) this visit was in preparation for his dental cleaning...he is 15.4 lbs & Dr Ackerely told me how to cut back on his kibble. Shadow was always trying to run away, but Dr Ackerely was patient with him. I am quite willing to recommend Dartmouth Vet Hospital to any one who needs a great veterinary hospital!!!

Yes it's pricey, but that's an issue with buying bunnies. Also, most recently Dr. Draper saw (immediately, I might add) my kitty who broke his leg. He was quick, took him for surgery right away, showed me the x-rays, explained the process, drew up an estimate (insanely expensive, but to be expected) and took him in for surgery right away. My only wish is that there was some sort of payment plan for underwaged and students. But they were great about taking a credit card that wasn't mine. Overall, I always have a great experience. Welcoming staff, helpful technicians, and top notch doctors. I was told by another clinic that Dr. Draper is the best surgeon in Halifax, and not to look any further. And he definitely was. The follow up appointment was great- he just wanted to check on the progress, which put my mind at ease. A Fantastic clinic for sure!

VERY friendly staff, they loved my snake to death, all took pictures of him and took turns holding him. The doctor was wonderful, Dr Suzette Dibblee. She gave him a good exam, handled him with care and kindness, checked him over from top to bottom. He's in a great bill of health. Appointments and registering was so simple, I called over the phone, they took all mine and Jormungandr's (snake) information to register him into the system, and booked me an appointment for two days later. The price was good, for an overall exam/diagnoses was $85, which is REALLY good for an exotic pet. I know most people are going to be taking out other pets, like cats and dogs, and while I was out there, the staff was loving up everyone's pets, giving them treats, taking really good care of them, and the customers seemed REALLY happy with the staff and visit as well, it's good to see that for a change. As for my appointment, I didn't even have to wait, they took me in as soon as I walked in the door. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m8-nrvYRha8&feature=youtu.be This is a video of my vet trip, I recorded it since it was his first time there. See for yourself how his exam went. I trust these people with my pet, and so should you.
